Is there anything else I can help with? ## I just got a refill of my metformin HCL 500 mg tabs and noticed a very strong odor coming from them when I open the bottle (never smelled any odor prior - been taking for several yrs). I'm trying to find out if this can be normal. Also never noticed the markings before....the tab is round with an A on one side and a 12 on the other. Is it possible I was given the wrong medication?

I too have taken 850 mg Zyd tabs dispensed from Walmart. My A1c went from 6.0 to 7.1 with no change in diet and exercise. They also have an odd taste. I just switched to 850 mg made by Sun dispensed from Medco/Express scripts and after 3 days my Glucose is now back to the 120's. For me I found Zyd ineffective. There are differences in the generics. If one brand doesn't work for you try another before you give up on Metformin altogether. ## You are correct, there can be differences and that does make them less effective for some people. You may want to double check in the future, when you get a refill, to make sure that you don't get the one from Zydus, again. Is there anything I can help with?

I am a type - 2 diabetic patient and my sugar level 265 fasting and 345 pp.My diabetologist prescribed me HUMAN MIXTARD 30/70 40UTS BD; ZITA 120MG 1 od; GP-4MG 1BD; GLINATE 120MG 1bd. I do walking for 45 mts daily. With all these my fasting sugar is 165 and pp 245. Am to to increase the dosage of zita or what else to take to keep my sugar level under control. Metformin does not suits me as it induces dyhorea.

My serum creatinine level has been 2.0mg for four years and I've been suffering from diabetes for 12 years and high blood pressure for 8 years. To control my creatinine I have been taking a tablet called Al-donil OD 150mg (one tablet per day). My sugar level is normal as well after taking the tablet and my blood pressure is normal (130/90) after taking the tablet. Please advise whether I can use Nefrosave in place of the Al-donil OD 150mg? I would like to know what would cause an overdose in a male who is 225 lbs. in weight using oxycodone. I have over 220 5 mg. tabs. ## Please correct me if I am wrong, but to my knowledge, Oxycodone doses aren't usually based on weight, but rather the severity of the pain you're dealing with. 20mg Oxycontin OP doesn't seem to work as well for me. I take it 3 times a day with 15mg oxycodone breakthru. Can anyone suggest a replacement for the 20mg's. Would a 15mg oxycodone and a 5 mg oxycodone work as well. Thanks so much for your help. ## It would be the same dosage, but since those ones are not time released, it would not last as long to relieve your pain, so such a dosage would have to be taken more frequently. Generally the regular formulations have to be taken 3 to 4 times a day, as opposed to the every 12 hours that you take Oxycontin. There have been many complaints regarding the new formulation not being as effective as the original, as well as comments that it caused odd side effects.
