I was prescribed megace for endometrial lining too thick. About six weeks ago I had a hysteroscopy and a d&c...she scrubbed the ablation because it looked too suspicious...but, she was prepared to call someone else in. The Megace worked pretty well before the procedures. It was just a matter of which dosage would work.. Went from once a day...didn't work. Went to twice a day...didn't work. Went to three times a day...didn't work. Finally, at four times a day...it worked. Then, I had those two procedures. Now, we are back to figuring out what to do. Went from twice a day and now back to four times a day. Bleeding and cramping have gotten much worse. Follow up with doc on Wednesday to go over my options. What is MagneBind 400 Rx used for and what are its active ingredients? ## Hi barbara, MagneBind 400 is a prescription strength magnesium, calcium, & folic acid combination, used for treating or preventing low levels of folic acid and minerals in certain patients. Unfortunately I could not locate any other specific details on the medication, for it seems it's just marketed as a multivitamin and mineral supplement. I am post menopausal. 58 years old Vaginal ultrasound shows endometrial long at 11mm small fibroid and polyp. Endometrial Biopsy results were benign. Gyno put me on 40mg megestrol for 2 months. Took it for 1 week and my stomach bloated so much I looked 8 months pregnant. Cramps, headaches, the worst PMS I have ever had. No bleeding but running to bathroom thinking I was. I'd rather have a D&C to thin the lining and to be absolutely sure the fibroid and polyp are benign. I refuse to take megestrol - these make me crazy crampy severe PMS weight gaining pills and it's cruel to prescribe and expect a 58 year old postmenopausal woman to go thru this bodily hell. A friend said if I mix one pill of l484 with a percocet 512 that it intensifies the effect of the percocet.. Is this true? Does more acetaminophen make that happen? ## Hello, Todd! How are you? No, that is not true and it is not safe to do. Taking too much Acetaminophen in any 8 hour period, or within 24 hours could result in fatal toxicity. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. I am a prostate cancer patient under the care right now by a Urologist who has subscribed this medication because of bladder problem.. Is taking 4methadone 10mgs the same as a 40mg wafer? It doesn't seem to last as long or as strong. ## If they are regular release, then they should work the same. However, medications can be funny, so that might not be true of Methadone. Have you checked with your doctor? There may be something else affecting it that I am not aware of…does anyone else know more? ## Depending on the generic. They can legally have 10 to 15% less methadone in them. It's not that a pharmacy really discontinues carrying any brand, but that they will carry whichever one was offering the cheapest price, when they needed to restock their supply. Thus, if another company underbid Sandoz, they are now the one that Wal-Mart carries. However, you can try asking them if they can order it back in for you. What is your general location? That would enable someone to suggest a pharmacy if they know of one that has it in stock in your area.

Just to swallow or to place under upper lip on gum? ## The square green pill in description is Pravastatin sodium (40 mg); used for lowering cholesterol and preventing cardiovascular disease. The dosing and administration guidelines list the following instructions: "Pravastatin comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It is usually taken once a day with or without food. Take pravastatin at around the same time every day." Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a692025.html It sounds like you can simply swallow it with some water; otherwise it should mention more detailed instructions than that. I hope this helps!
