If a patent is taking calcium is there a need to take caltrate? ## Hello, Lou! How are you? It depends on the amount of calcium they need and if they also need Vitamin D, since Caltrate contains both. If someone is low in calcium, their doctor may want them to take extra, or may want them to take something with vitamin D, since it is also very important to our body and our use of calcium. Occasionally, taking a lot may cause some constipation, as listed by the FDA and it could be dangerous to take more than what they doctor has advised. Is there anything else I can help with?

There is calcium carbonate in the Oncovite ingredients and I am wondering about the interaction with Nitrofurantoin mono mac 100 mg ## Yes, the calcium can cause you to absorb less of the Nitrofurantoin. However, it says that this can be avoided if you take them at least 2 hours apart. Since the calcium coats you stomach, it prevents full absorption of the medication if they are taken at the same time. You should double check this with your doctor or pharmacist, but that is what is currently listed. Is there anything else I can help with?

Elderly person needs vitamin with following ingredients: Vit. D 400mg, Folic acid 400 mcg., Biotin 300 mcg., Vit. B-12 1,000 mcg., Vit. B-6 100 mg., Selenium 100 mcg., Calcium + D 1,200 mg., Iron 250 mcg., and Vit. C 3,000 mg. Is there any one tablet that comes close to providing these nutrients in these proportions? ## Since most vitamins are over the counter products, there isn't a database that lists all of them and their ingredients. What I'd like to suggest is asking a pharmacist. They usually have a good idea of what's available and can point you in the right direction. Did a doctor say it must be these specific dosages?

Can't find the regular vitamins with the chocolate flavoring and without calcium. ## This website does not manufacture, nor sell any products of any type, it is an information only website. The company that manufactures Viactiv has a website at viactiv.com, which lists a phone number to contact them as 877-VIACTIV. Thus, I'd suggest calling them to ask if they've discontinued it, if there's just a shipping delay or if your stores have just stopped carrying it. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am on Metoprolol Tartrate 25mg twice daily for the past month and I seem to be feeling weak on some days. It is prescribed to me for sinus tachycardia. Someone recommended that I start taking vitamins to help restore my energy levels. With that said, would it be safe to do so with this medication? I am thinking of taking a supplement containing Calcium 100mg, Magnesium 100mg & Potassium 15mg. ## There are no problems listed between using the vitamins with the Metoprolol, but you should check with your doctor first. Can I take B-Complex dietary supplement, Calcium, Folic acid, Amoxicillin 500mg, and Amatem Forte (an antimalarial medicine) together at the same time? And how many can I take a day if possible? ## Hi Duchess. Well, for the B-Complex / Calcium / Folic Acid ... those are vitamins and not drugs so I did not see any alarming interactions listed anywhere with the Amatem Forte. As for the Amoxicillin, which is an antibiotic, I did see that OTHER kinds of antibiotics may interact with Amatem Forte, but did not see Amoxicillin on that list. This was according to everydayhealth's article about Artemether-Lumefantrine. Of course, if you have not already done so, I would highly recommend telling your doctor everything else which you have been taking (vitamins and drugs) so that they can deter...
