I am a stage IV cancer patient and member of an invitational research and survey type website. Members primarily consist of other stage IV cancer patients, but in some cases, may be the caregiver of a stage IV patient. A little over a month ago, a caregiver launched a blog-like diary of sorts. My 28 year old son recently died. I only gave him the smallest amount, 3 half a milligram tablets sublingually along with the clonazepam and lorazepam as prescribed. his toxicology report showed he had 21 L. he never got out of bed after 6 p.m. the following day I found him dead in his bed at 7 o'clock in the morning. I was with him until 4:30 in the morning. How many Vicodin 's(10-300) are potentially lethal? ## Hi John, While there's no exact number of pills for a potentially lethal dose, I can tell you that for your own safety, the FDA recommends NO MORE THAN 4000mgs a day of Acetaminophen, and that is to be spread out over a 24hr period - NOT to be taken all at once. They also state in their warning that anything over 325mgs in a sitting has been shown to cause liver damage/failure; which from my understanding can eventually lead to death if liver damage is severe. So why don't you just ask the doctor for something stronger if Vicodin isn't cutting it? I'm sorry to hear that you or someone you're referring to is even contemplating information like this. Just a thought, but if you're sole intent is to end your life, wouldn't you try to take a more definitive approach other than popping a random number of pills to see if it has the ability to kill? I found top half of a scored, white round pill. 12 on one side, blank on other. Really need to find out what it might be. I may have dropped the other half recently I don't want any pets to get it if it is a harmful or lethal dose for a 70 lb pitbull

Just an FYI. I woke up in the hospital on a respirator after my teenage son found me. This was not intentional. I developed pneumonia. Oh! I woke up deaf. I couldn't hear for two days. My kidneys failed and I was on dialysis for 8 weeks. My overall hospital stay was almost four weeks. My family noticed a marked difference in my personality. I am super scared... I have taken a total of 17 hydrocodone 10/300 today. I read (afterward) that 90mg of hydrocone is lethal. I have tried to make myself vomit to get the last pills out, but I cant tell if what is coming up is a dissolved pill or just mucus. I dont want to die!! I dont know what to do. It's my understanding that the manufacturers started making ER (extended-release) tablets that have micro encapsulated beads within the pill that prevent the over release of medication. The reason they did that was due to the trend of chopping the pills into powder and insufflating it recreationally, which can be lethal. ## I agree with your logic, especially due to the widespread stance big pharma has taken against drug abusers. A number of other pain medications (such as Oxycodone) have also undergone their own unique preventative measures in recent years. How many restyl sleeping pills can put a person to death?‎ ## Restyl contains the active ingredient Alprazolam, a Benzodiazepine, commonly used to treat anxiety, nervous disorders and insomnia. It is very difficult, actually, to have fatal overdose on this class of medication. To get even close you would have to take over 200 times the normal dosage and such overdosages are easily treated by almost any hospital. In most cases, when someone tries to deliberately overdose on this medication, they end up getting sick and then passing out, before they ever hit a lethal dose. Does anyone out there have a problem with this drug and teenagers popping these to feel high? My son almost killed himself on June 2nd, 2007. He took a whole box of these and drove a vehicle. They put a limit on sudafed, why not these pills? ## These pills contain DXM which is highly abusable by teenagers. However, coricidin contains other active ingredients which are lethal in high doses however DXM is not very much so. I used to be addicted to these activities. I would take a whole bottle of robitussin cough gels and have a great night. It is called robo-tripping and has similar effects to ketamine and magic mushrooms. Sudafed however does not contain DXM, and many people aren't going to disregard the warnings on pill bottles.

My friend died from a Tylenol overdose. She took 16g of 500mg extra strength. She lived the first time she tried, but a couple months later, she took Tylenol again and her liver shut down and died soon after. What are the chances of dying of the same pill with the same dosage? First time she took 16g, second time she took 10g and her liver shut down. I read that 16g isn't lethal to some people? She was a little heavyset but in her weight/height range for her age. As the U.S. population rapidly ages, I believe that a tablet's size must be made manageable for increasing numbers of us with arthritis, back and neck problems, myopia, shaky hands, etc. Miniscule pills dropped and lost on household floors require one to stop everything and crawl on hands and knees with reading glasses and a flashlight to find every last sucker --or better still, immediate vacuuming, as they are a lethal menace to infants and pets if left. Is it ok to take a yellow xanax at the same time as a 1 mg celexa and a pain pill? ## Mixing Xanax and Celexa can cause side effects to be worse and this can include respiratory depression, so you do need to be careful of doing so. As to the pain medication, I cannot answer you, since you did not say exactly what it was and there are many analgesics on the market. My son died of an overdose. It all started with Xanax. The problem is, eventually one is not enough. My son wanted to sleep, now his sleep is forever & my broken heart will never heal. Its not a thrill game, once you are hooked you are on the threshold of death. I will never see him marry or father a child, or engage in the sports he loved so much. how much is a lethal overdose? ## There is no pat answer to this, it varies depending on whether or not the person taking it already has a tolerance to opiates. If a person is opiate tolerant then they would need a higher amount to put themselves in any danger, however, a person who is not used to taking narcotics, would require a much smaller amount to achieve a lethal dose. ## I just took 5 2mg diluadid for the first time and I swear i thought I was gonna overdose do you think I'm gonna be okay im starting to feel better

Omg it sounds exactly like my condition. Lethal night sweats and belly bloat not to mention scalp sores. Go to a good gastrointestinal guy. You may have gallstones or gallbladder problems. Believe me it's a gastro thing. I'm going for my endoscopy tomorrow. Don't let it get worse!!
