Please tell me the difference between cardibeta tablets & cardibeta 'xr' tablets? ## They both contain the active ingredient Metoprolol, which is a beta blocker used to treat high blood pressure and various cardiac conditions. I am diabetic and have high blood pressure. For diabetes I am on Glucophage XR 500mg (3 tabs a day) and for high blood pressure I have been taking Approval 300mg. Recently my doctor reduced my Glucophage to 2 tabs a day, the Approval to 150mg and added Concur 2.5mg.
