Just wondering if i take my script to a kaiser pharmacy will they know that I had a script filled at a walgreens 8 days prior for the exact same meds (different doctor)? Help me out here! ## The pharmacies actually being connected doesn't matter, prescriptions are all logged into computer systems and tracked by the federal government. Thus, if you are hoping to get duplicate prescriptions, or similar ones, for controlled substances, then it will be detected and flagged in their system. If the pharmacy doesn't catch it, the government scans will and you'll face some pretty stiff fines and penalties. Learn more prescription medication details here. Are there any other questions or comments? ## That's actually not accurate. The theory that the federal government is tracking...

Hello I'm a 21 year old male working full time. I broke my ankle 4 years ago due to sports. I broke it and fractured the growth plate. it gives me tremendous pain due to my 2 surgeries I had on it. I'm looking for a kaiser doctor around the Roseville, CA area who prescribes hydrocodone. Any help is appreciated. Thank you ## Because it is low income and you're so young you may not be able to find a Kaiser Dr who will rx it. You may have to pay out of pocket.

Twice now Kaiser Hospital has mixed up my meds. My usual dosage is up to 3-10mg, 3 times a day of the orange 10mg tablet INSTANT RELEASE So both times the usual instructions were on the bottle 3-3x a day....but the meds were 10mg SLOW RELEASE spansules. I caught it both times because they look so different. It's a pain for me to go back and exchange them. What's the correct dosage? ## There is no definitive correct dose, it depends on the person, what their doctor prescribes and what works for that individual. The FDA classifies this medication as a stimulant and warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness and anorexia. The hospital needs to start paying attention to the specifics of...

I have a question that I need some help with. I had Kaiser for insurance and was on a pain contract with them, well i got laid off from my job so lost my insurance. Now I dont know what to do. How do I go about keeping my contract with another dr, or is my contract now void since I losr my insurance. I am so confused and am in soooo much pain, please somone help me. Thanku ## Tell your Doctor, let him know about your insurance. If you are on strong pain meds you cant just stop taking them. If its a real problem and you are a real pain patient they cant shut you off. Also check with the company that makes the meds and ask about a government program to keep you on the meds. Most companies wont just shut you off. You must be pro active and get moving now. I know how you feel; 10 low back op...

I started on wellbutrin and was happier and thinner. Then Kaiser switched me to generic Bupropion because they don't cover brand name and ever since I've experienced worse depression, gained weight and have constant edema in stomach and legs. I'm really concerned about this. Doctors and pharmacists are always too busy or distracted to listen to questions or find answers as to WHY this is, so I'm done. I'm going off and never coming back to these drugs. I guess I'll start with St. John's Wort and Bacopa. ## I find it sad that doctor's and pharmacists couldn't take a couple minutes of their time to answer this question for you on the spot. When it comes down to it, certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are ...

Hi there, I'm currently coming off kaiser insurance and am looking for new PM specialist. I've been taking 10/325 norcos, 1mg clonazepam, Percocet and promethazine syrup. I was in a bad accident about 3 years ago and have had consistent back and lower sciatica pain that keeps me hobbled over all day and keeps me awake at night. Doctors have been turning patients away and lowering thier doses left and right, I'm just looking for a solid refferal to a legit doctor who will listen and not make me feel like I shouldn't be asking, all kaiser doctors make it awkward when talking pain pills. I've been searching and calling but so far nothing has hit other than a doctor in Hollister but he was just let go two months ago! I NEED HELP! SOS! I just want relief and I don't know

Hi all - I just started taking Sprintec, I had previously been on YAZ but when the generic brand came out Kaiser made me switch to that, had tons of weight gain and moodiness so I switched to Sprintec. When I was on YAZ I was able to skip my period...basically I would just not take the "sugar" pills and go straight to the next pack of birth control. I was wondering if anyone else has done this with Sprintec and if their doctors recommended it or not. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks! ## Have you consulted your doctor? You should check with them, in most cases, unless there are certain medical reasons, it isn't necessary to have your period more than a few times a year. I am not, however, familiar with this pill, so I am not sure what tablets you'd skip to enable you...

I just moved to Idaho from California. I am on methadone for degenerative disc disease. And have been on it for 8years. A pain team with Kaiser Permanente put me on it.. well this was an unexpected move. . I got on Idaho medicaid and they assigned me to a health clinic(after i didn't choose one because of everything going on)well the clinic has a policy that they dont prescribe anything over the equivalent of 120Mg morphine.. they wont fill my script! I live in the Boise area... Any suggestions? ## I don't think most of us realize that taking opioids for long periods can also cause pain because your body is asking for more and (causing issues with other parts of your body without you recognizing it and has a terrible affect on your mind) not taking on time can be painful as well...

I’m taking Oxymorphone 5mg five times a day and it’s barely relieving my low back, neck & sciatica pain anymore. My problem is I have Kaiser Permanente insurance. Ever since the Opioid Crisis, the Pain Management Dept. protocol is to get every patient OFF ALL OPIOIDS. However, my Primary Care Doctor is much more sympathetic & is in charge of prescribing my pain medications. She has tried to help & support from other departments to no avail. Do you think Vicodin ES could be added to my Oxymorphone regimen? I found some old Vicodin ES & have been cutting them in half, & taking them with my Oxymorphone 5mg on really rough days. When my Worker’s Comp Doctor was treating me for this injury, before the WC Insurance stopped treating me, he sometimes had me...

Here is the deal. I have a herniated disc and degenerative disc disease. I have had physical therapy, chiropractor and epidural steroid injections. I am a Kaiser patient. I am taking Morphine ER 15 mg 4 times a day with percocet 5 mg 3 times a day for breakthrough. I ran out of meds early last month because i went camping and lost the bottle that had a weeks worth of meds inside. I don't take the entire bottle with me when I travel, just what I need while I'm gone. I did not tell my doctor that I lost the meds. My doctor gave me a script that was dated for 6/25 (tomorrow). Last week I was out of town for our annual week long vacation. While I was there (in the same state, but 3 hours from home) I went to an urgent care with my empty script bottles and the urgent care doctor gave...

What is the difference between Cheratussin AC 10 mg-100MG/5 ML oral liquid and Codeine 10 MG-Guaifenesin mg/5 ml oral mac? I prefer and requested Cheratussin but the Kaiser Pharmacy said they were getting the Codeine guaifenesin now and that they were the same thing? My metal Hip replacement is on the recall list for Smith & Nephew for loosening & leeching metal / metal poisoning. The hip was recalled in 2012 but my health provider (Kaiser) Never notified me. I am now experiencing severe swelling & redness around my ankles & my feet & really all lower legs are painful & numb at the same time. Also getting sharp cramp like pain in front of upper legs. Are these symptoms of metal poisoning from Titanium? If not what causes this dibilataing type of pain. Kaiser keeps telling me my back is causing my symptoms but I do not agree. Is there a new law in California prohibiting marijuana consumption while taking Norco? Wife has severe neck pain & fibromyalgia - used to take some marijuana to reduce pain cuz Norco was not enough! Now Kaiser tells my wife she can NOT take marijuana or they will stop Norco. True? A law or Kaiser rule? ## Hi Larry, To my knowledge and understanding of the situation with patients being able to utilize marijuana in conjunction with pain management, it seems to be solely based on the doctor's discretion (at least in California), where my mom has been a long term pain patient benefiting from the two forms of treatment, per her doctor's recommendation. I don't think it's as rare as some may believe, but there are physicians out there who do support medical marijuana and d...

Is there any assistance out there which will make Pradaxa affordable? I was able to get the savings card and use it at Walgreens for the 1st month but they say I am allowed to go one time outside my network with Kaiser. Kaiser has it for 211$ and other places have quoted upwards of 425$ for a month supply. That is pretty impossible to keep up with and still pay for the other 4 medications I am on. I wonder if anyone has ideas on how to pay for such an expensive medicine? ## Hello Ron, Fortunately there are many PAP (prescription assistance programs). I live in Anaheim, CA and I am looking for a doctor who is willing to prescribe pain medication like Norco. I have chronic pain from migraines, a back injury and sinus problems. My new doc is with Kaiser and is not willing to prescirbe them regularly due to all the laws and regulations. I need someone who will give me a normal monthly supply. ## Have you tried just looking into a pain management doctor or clinic? Such a place usually has a better idea of what should be prescribed for such conditions and is used to dealing with the government regulations that they have to worry about. And a few important tips: 1) Make sure to take all of your medical records or have them sent to the new doctor. This will give them a better idea of your condition and will help avoid your having to have ma...
