Hello everyone. I am a fairly new user to Topamax. Back in August I had Viral meningitis and Encephalitis. I was a very lucky girl. I had been sick for 2 days and had no idea why and just sort of brushed it off until I was basically delusional and my husband had to rush me to the hospital because I had no idea what I was doing. My mindset was basically that of a toddler. The doctors had told my husband and my mother that we were all very lucky because my brain had swollen so badly that any longer and I wouldn't have been around much longer. So that brings us to the present my neurologist is now doing a good bit of testing to see if I am suffering from seizures or if the results of my inconsistent EEG's are from severe migraine headaches. I have been on Topamax since the beginnin...

I have had raised cholesterol for years and was changed to Vytorin about 12 months ago. I am now on 10/80. I have been under a neurologist for years about "unexplained white matter" on my brain. For the past few months when med was raised, I have had tingling in arms legs and down the side of my face. I feel very unbalanced and "off with the fairies" at times and know that I am just not right. Thinking and memory has been effected. I am now looking at medication (Vytorin) and have stopped taking it to see if these symptoms improve. Is there anybody else out there who has experienced the same symptoms on these meds.? I am at my wits end ## Hello, Marg! How are you? Those can be side effects of Vytorin, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, hea...

I have Pcos and I have been trying to conceive since I got married in 2008 to no avail. I have been experiencing worrisome cycles for over 6 months now. I always start spotting for about 4-7 days followed by fairly normal flow for about 5-7 days and it eventually ends with spotting for about 5-7 days. Hence I was given Primolut-N 5mg tds for 5 days. I will be starting clomid when I am menstruating..Please tell me if I am on course? Lest I forget, my hubby has a low sperm count and was placed on Manix. ## My wedding is on december 4th and my last period was on november 3rd. I want to prepone my periods. I want them on the 25th of nov. so that it finishes on the 30th; after which I am free to attend all the ceremonies. Please suggest medicines and dose. ## I haven't had my period for ...

My Dr. has had me on alprazalom 4 1mg. tablets for the last 10 years for panic attacks and anxiety is this really a high dosage and how hard is it going to be to get off of it. I had to have someone call 911 for it because when I called to get it refilled he was't in the office and the drugstore would not refill it and I went 7 days without it and it was really bad. ## If you've been taking it for that long, then a sudden withdrawal may be dangerous, there is a chance that it could cause you to suffer seizures. Thus, it's always best to stop Benzodiazepines such as this on a slow taper schedule. Learn more Alprazolam details here. And yes, that's a fairly high dosage, but not an extreme one. Have you talked to your doctor about how to get off it of it safely? Are there s...

MY HUSBAND WORKS FOR STATE WV STATE ROAD AND GOT SOME OF THE SALT THAT THEY TREAT THE ROADS WITH IN HIS MOUTH, WHAT CAN WE DO TO GET THE TASTE OUT OF HIS MOUTH!!!! AND WILL IT HURT HIM????? ## Hi Jackie, Sorry to hear about what happened to your husband while working. Did you think he ingested a fair amount of that road salt? I know if it were me that position, I would probably be downing a lot of green vegetable drinks directly afterwards as well as getting some "activated charcoal" from a health food store, since it's medically proven to eliminate toxins from the body. And while there's probably no way of knowing whether the road salt will hurt him at this time (depending on how much was consumed), if he senses anything unusual it may even be best for him to go see a d...

Hello, friends! I started the Fentanyl patch 100mc today after OxyContin treatment my highest dose was 80OP up to 4 per 24 hours. I suffer from agonizing chronic pain due to severe nerve damage in my feet (medical neglect and misdiagnosed 3 years ago). I've build up opioid tolerance pretty quickly, so my doctor suggested the Fentanyl patches, plus, I felt "victimized by the system" - all and everyone plays the "Cops", lecturing me about the risks of opioids, treating me like a "junkie". Nothing against those that use these meds recreationally, but because of those very people, I will convulse in ER, and the attending doctor will insist on reaching my neurologist first before administering the pain relief... Finally, my doctor suggested these patches - I am MO...

My father has been on Seroquel for about 3 weeks for bi-polar disorder. He also has occasional bouts with paranoia. He will occasionally get very angry/agitated and lash out at family members. He still occasionally shows signs of paranoia. In other words, it at first appeared these symptoms were improving, but are still recurring. For those that have taken this drug for something similar, is this to be expected? Thanks for any guidance. ## Hello, Will! How are you and your father? It usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks for such a medication to reach its full level of efficacy. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, somnolence, weight gain and headache. It's fairly typical for this to happen, while someone's body is getting used to the medica...

I starting taking viibryd after having no luck on lexapro, paxil, celexa, effexor, toprol, wellbutrin etc etc. Started on 10mg starter pack and went up to 40 fairly quickly. Family noticed that I was much more agitated and crying all the time...also have frequent suicidal thoughts...which aren't typical. I told both the therapist and psyc about this. Now both think i should try a tricyclic drug Pamelor. Has anyone tried this after no luck w/ the common SSRI's. Specifically interested in if I can start on the Pamelor while still weening off V. I'm on 15mg now b/c i had moderate dizziness going from 20mg V straight to 10mg. My body seems very sensitive to weening. I have to do it by 5mg increments since I have anxiety the dizziness makes my anxiety/ panic worse. Oh btw, I also...

I just moved here from Cali and am in desperate need of pain management Doctor. I was on 10mg Norco, 4 - 5 times a day. Looking for a Doctor than can compare in terms of helping. Can travel. Please, help. **Reston, VA here. But can travel to DC or MD** ## Percocet (Oxycodone) Vicodin (Hydrocodone) If you know any doctors who can help, let me know ASAP, please. ## Well, the first thing you need to know is that it isn't wise to go to any new doctor and ask for any specific medication, because most of them will see that as being drug seeking behavior and they will just refuse to see you or tell you they don't prescribe such things. The best thing you can do is find a new doctor and make sure that they get a full copy of your medical records, so they can see what medications have an...

I was on Evista for 2 years. I am suffering side effects of hip pain and flu like symptoms. How long after stopping Evista will the side effects go away? ## Hello, Julie! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having. However, there is no definitive timeline that I can give you. It can vary from person to person and may take anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months. Have you consulted your doctor to be sure that the Evista has caused the symptoms? They are fairly common side effects of it, but it's always best to be sure. As listed by the FDA, other side effects may also include leg cramps, hot flashes and abdominal pain. Are you on any other medications? ## I've been on evista for 3 days. Yesterday and today, severe pain in my foot and swelling o...

I have advanced psoriatic arthritis and have had 4 major spine surgeries. Without the drug I the pain would be intolerable. I have taken Hydrocodone for many years yet I don’t feel like I’m addicted. I don’t have any of the symptoms I read others are having. I have had some constipation but that’s controlled. Nausea is controlled easily by just eating before taking the med. No other issues. I’m prescribed 5 a day but only take 3 most days. Most likely unless the government outlaws the drug i’ll be on this the rest of my life due to the pain associated with this and other diseases. Because of this drug I am able to lead a fairly active lifestyle for a 72 year old. From what you read on the Net if you take this you have to be addicted and I just don...

I have a lot of pimples can i use this for the treatment of acne and for fairness ## Hello, Riya! How are you? No, this contains a steroid class medication, so it could actually worsen acne, as reported by the FDA. Other side effects may include skin redness, irritation and dryness. Have you tried consulting a doctor to see what may help your acne? As to the fairness, do you have dark spots, or are you just wanting to lighten your overall skin tone? ## can i use metacortil-lite two time twice a day if i have pimple problem

I'm new on 100 Fentanyl patches for the second day - feel OK, I've been on opioids for pain management for few years, read a lot of scary posts on misuse and deaths... I am so worried at this point, that taking a shower scares me.. Can anyone suggest any "coverage" for the patch area, while in a shower??? I don't think I can just "take a shower as is", it will come off, I'm sure... I like the patch, it does work (I intend to use it EXACTLY as prescribed), but I am, as mentioned before, simply paranoid that I will get the patch wet, damaged, etc... Also, I read a "hot showers are a BIG NOs" - anyone tell me more about it??? Please friends, I need a shower badly, it's not fair to others and members of my family, the girl needs her hair done! :) ...

I've never had a sunburn and cannot tan. Why is this? I'm Italian and Spanish but have very fair skin because of health issues, I'm also anemic which makes me even whiter! :/ I've spent all summer outside and nothing. I get a tinncchh darker when I'm outside the whole season, but its soo little, ud never know. I'm so confused considering everyone's always said the more fair skinned u are, the more u will burn. I thankfully have no idea what a sunburn feels like lol. ## That isn't common, but you are not the first person to experience this, and from someone who does burn very easily, trust me, you aren't missing anything, you are also greatly lowering your risk of developing certain types of skin cancer. Hi, I started going to a methadone clinic 3 months ago for opiate addiction. I am paying 98$ a week, well my sister is, bless her heart. I was wondering if this is the cheapest option for me? This includes the methadone which I am currently stable at 60mg a day. I started out looking for Suboxone doctors but the cheapest I could find was around $400 for the first visit and $300 for the next, which was 2 weeks away from the 1st. I would prefer Suboxone but am satisfied with the progress I am making with methadone at the moment. I live in the Memphis area and am looking for better options if they exist?
