I usually take hydrocodone 7.5/325 and have for 2 1/2 years but am running low is it safe for me to take oxycodone 5/325 in its place. It would be the first time I have taken oxycodone so I was unsure of just how much stronger it is than the other. ## Need answers please. ## I will be having to take them in the next few days ## Hello! How are you? Well, the caveat I must give is not to switch what you're taking, without your doctor's approval. But yes, running it through the opiate dosage converter, 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone is equivalent to 5mgs of Oxycodone. Learn more Percocet details here. Hi. My 2 and a half year old son was prescribed amoxicillin by a doctor at the hospital. I know he said to give it 3 times a day but he never stated whether to give 2.5ml or 5ml. It's got 250mg/5ml on the box. How much should I give him 3 times a day? ## I have my son 3 years old He has infections in hear and noses I don' t have the proper Amoxicillin for a kids, so the one I have is 500mg pills Please how you can assist me ## @Vikki, If it's got 250mg/5mL on the box, then my understanding is that this is the standard dosing protocol to take as instructed. However, according to the MayoClinic, "if the child/infant is older than 3 months of age & weighing less than 40 kg (88lbs), the dose is then based on body weight and must be determined by the prescribing doctor....

I have severe anxiety all day how much valium is effective for a severe case ## The dosage of Valium for severe symptoms can go as high as 10mgs up to 4 times daily. How much amoxicillin is safe for a 5 year old at 38 lbs? ## Hi indi, According to the MayoClinic, (if you're intending on using amoxicillin for a typical bacterial infection), the dose for children older than 3 months of age, weighing less than 88lbs is based on body weight and "must be determined by your doctor". However, they go on to note that the "usual" dose is anywhere from 20 to 45mg per 2.2lbs of body weight (per day); to be divided and administered every 8 to 12 hours. You could try to do the math on that in order to get a rough estimate - But ideally, like they said, you should discuss these details with your doctor just to be on the safe side. Hope this helps!

I went into La-La land when i took both of those together with my 2 10 mg hydrocodone today. Which one hsc to go and I think it is the citalogram--not the gabenten?! ## From checking the interactions, each of these can cause central nervous system depression and they can all pretty much react with each other to make it must more pronounced. Thus, there really isn't any one of them to blame. Some people separate them, to avoid these synergistic effects by taking them an hour or more apart. Other people may need to discontinue one or more of the medications or need a dosage adjustment. Are there any questions or comments?

My cousin overdosed on glycomet.... He was found dead.. Could this be because of glycomet? What is the safe dose one must take if their blood sugar level is about 150-170 in fasting? ## How much did they take? Has an overdose officially been confirmed via a medical examiner and lab serum tests? What dosage was he taking? The typical side effects of this medication, according to the NIH, are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and low blood sugar. ## Many thanks for replying. I couldn't get hold of the reports since it was all hush hush. I know for sure he was not a diabetic. From the number of tablets found by his side I reckon he might have taken a good 30+.

Is it ok to take hctz and asprin together also does hctz cause chest pain ## They can be taken together, but it must be done carefully, since the Hydrochlorothiazide can increase the effect of the Aspirin, so you may need a dosage adjustment. You should also double check this information with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. Learn more Aspirin details here. Learn more Hydrochlorothiazide details here. My doctor prescribed Prozac, but my dentist prescribed oxycodone for oral surgery. I read that the combination is dangerous. My question is when can I start taking Prozac safely? I have taken oxycodone 5-325 for a week. I have stopped today 5/11/2016 ## Hello, Chrisden! How are you? The main issue with this combination is that the Oxycodone in the Percocet can increase the effect of Prozac, depending on the dosage and other medications a person may be taking, it could be too much for some people and may result in overdose or serotonin syndrome. It's not that they can't ever be taken together, but it must be done very cautiously. Unless your doctor instructs otherwise, you should be able to start your Prozac within a day or two of stopping the Percocet. The FDA lists its typical ...

It took me a while to get down to it but I just switched from 10 mg of Methadone to Suboxone. How much Suboxone should I have to take, and how long? Also what else can I take with the Suboxone to make it easier? ## I am afraid I don't have that information for you. Doctor's that treat with Suboxone are carefully trained in its use and they have to carefully calibrate the dosage according to how much of the drug you were taking and for how long. On top of that, the tapering must be done very slowly, with the person's health and withdrawal symptoms being taken into account. For some people it can take several months, but other can take several years. I know that the tablet must not be split, but it is too much for me, and I split it in 2 pieces and take one half every evening, combined with another medicine for HT which I use in the morning. What may cause the fact that I split the film coated tablet please? As far as I know, there is no lower dosage for this medicine. And if I use one whole tablet every evening, than my tension is getting too low. Please advise

My ? is it a must to wait 48 to 72 hours before Switching to Suboxone . This is what iv,e always been told . ## Yes, you must be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone, otherwise it could cause you to experience dangerous precipitated withdrawals, according to FDA warnings. small oval tablet supposed to be metoprolol er 25 mg, but is different from previous (much smaller) generic for Toprol XLCB1D ## It is, indeed, just another generic, Metropolol 25mgs. There are no guidelines saying that all pills of the same dosage must look the same or be the same size. The way they look and the size is entirely up to the manufacturer.

for over 3 weeks have had serious issues with my lips, tongue, overall inside mouth raw, and sandpaper texture...like plastic....severly dry all day and impossible at night. Tried all OTC products no avail....seems lisinopril MUST BE THE CAUSE> any one else. ## What is your current dosage? Lisinopril can cause dry mouth and dehydration, so yes, it could be the cause, however, your symptoms sound much more severe than normal. Have you contacted your doctor about this, yet? You will probably need a dosage reduction or a switch to a different medication. ## I have been getting swollen areas around the mouth which started about every other day and would disappear usually within 12 to 15 hrs. this happened for about 3 wks. then stopped for 1 month. I missed my apt. For refil on my oxy30 because I had flu. Must use what I have to get through until Tuesday when my next apt is. I have fentaynol 100 patches. What is the dosage of fentanol to make up for lack of oxy? Have been on oxy and fentaynol for years. ## Tired If you've been on both the fentanyl and oxycodone concurrently you should be just fine using the fentanyl alone as the doc prescribed it since the oxys are primarily for bt pain. You may have more pain then usual but the patches will hold you until your next appt. without any true opiate withdrawal hope that helps ## Thank you so much! This new law in Florida is horrible. i am trying to find the brand name fioricet, pleases help! as the generics do not work. ## Hello, Tess! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. What dosage are you looking for? Some of them have been discontinued and are no longer available. Otherwise, if it's one that can still be found, did you try asking your pharmacy to order it in for you? ## I have the same experience with generic Fioricet - it does NOT work! We can't be the ONLY ones to notice that the Emperor is wearing no clothes. I wish this issue could be properly addressed. I am taking two 300 tynol/b every 4 hours. It this too much ## Manufacturer guidelines note the following... The usual adult dosage is: Acetaminophen (300mg-1000mg) 4x daily for a maximum dose of 4000mg within a 24 hour period. Codeine Phosphate (15mg-60mg) 4x daily for a maximum of 360mg within a 24 hour period. Doses may be repeated up to every 4 hours. The prescriber must determine the number of tablets per dose, and the maximum number of tablets per 24 hours based upon the above dosage guidance. This information should be conveyed in the prescription. NOTE: Keep in mind that high doses of either of these are considered to be toxic. Help. I have antiphospholipid antibody syn (aps), sjogrens, small vessell vasculitis, and multiple genetic clotting disorders. I have never felt that 200 mg twice a day of plaquenil has helped me much--been on it 8 years or so. I also take 10 mg prednisone coumadin, and lots other rx. Is it possible I need more plaquenil--like 300 or 400 mg twice a day? I'm dying to know if I could feel better. Nancy ## Have you discussed it with your doctor? From the drug information, it does appear that it can be used in dosages up to 600mgs a day, which would be evenly split at 300mgs twice a day. However, you really do need to discuss it with your doctor, because your full medical information and other medications must all be taken into account, before making any medication changes.
