I was on lexapro for nine months. I put on ten kilos and so I changed to pristiq six weeks ago. I felt awful the whole time and so have decided to go off all medication. I have gone cold turkey three days ago. I'm constantly dizzy, it feels like my brain is a second behind real time. I have terrible diarrhea and my whole body hurts. Strangely enough I am a great deal happier in my mood. A little anxiety but so far no depression or rage. Should I expect worse? How long will it all last? ## After being on them for almost a year, it may take several weeks for the effects to all taper off, because your body has to readjust your brain chemicals on its own. Learn more Pristiq details here. If you quit just 3 days ago, it may get a little worse and you could still experience some rebound e...

What experiences do you all have with coming off of Sublocade? Would you say it’s a lengthy process? I took 1-100mg dose 4 months ago and for the last month I’m very fatigued and lethargic. Idk if it’s an extended withdrawal but that’s what it’s feels like. It’s not horrible, but I want my regular energy back. I’ve gone through this dog and pony show before, and after I get another injection, I feel like my regular self. My doctor wants me to suck it up as I may need it for life. I refuse to buy into that. I want to be free from these substances. ## I wish I had an answer for you but I'm still on the shot myself. How long were you on the shot for? I'm coming up on 8 months and looking at stopping at the year mark. My Doc is saying the sa...

Hi there, I have been taking 25mg of seroquel nightly since 2002 or 2003 and am finding it really hard to fall asleep. Ive been wiening myself off it as per doctors instructions (only having half a tab per night. I had my last half last Tues & hav had bad insomnia every since have only slept a few hrs some nights. Absolutely none most nights so am wondering how long this is gunna last? :( Thank you ## Hello, Tina! How are you? I'm sorry about your insomnia. That is a typical withdrawal effect, as listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, foggy headed feeling, diarrhea and rebound depression. It may take a month for the symptoms to entirely go away, though they should gradually improve and not be as severe. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have looked everywhere for answers to my questions for the symptoms of withdrawals of Norco but haven't found what I needed. ## I recently ran out of Norco that I have been on for a year. 10/325 at 4 a day. The withdrawals were insane. I have since gotten more meds but I can't get this awful taste out of my mouth nor can I shake this weak feeling I have. Any help? ## This will probably last for about two weeks. You need to get off them their really bad, and make you feel horrible when you don't have them!

My head has got pins and needles as well. Just want to know how long it will take and should I be doing this ## Hi. I red your post and feel so sad i couldnt reply that time. Are you ok? The azor withdrawel can be lethal... Im upset your dr. just denied you more he should know the dangers... Wish i could talk to you.

I have stopped taking perc 5mg on Sunday still feeling a little funny how much longer will this last??? ## It really depends on how long you were taking it and how much you were taking regularly. It could take anywhere from a few days to about 2 weeks. This is classified by the FDA as a narcotic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and withdrawal effects, if you stop taking it suddenly are normal and may include nausea, headache, rebound pain, diarrhea and dizziness. Are you feeling any better, yet? ## Withdrawal from Percocets, tramadol, darvon, etc... will make you go through tremendous pain if it was used for pain. Nausea, hot and cold spells are expected but I believe you feel crummy for 3 days but can still function. People who withdraw off of morphine, fentanyl, and othe...

I have been on Cymbalta, then changed to the generic Cymgen (30mg) for 8 years. I decided after this amount of time to stop and asked my psychiatrist on ways to do this. FISRT of all, my psychiatrist said that because i was on such a low dose that there will be NO side effects of stopping the drug. My response was to inform her that on days i have missed taking my meds i have severe head zaps and couldn't manage just stopping (Cold Turkey) if that was the case. She then put me on a course to taper off: X2 weeks 30mg Cymgen & 20mg LilyFluoxetime (prozac)- After two weeks i stopped the Cymgen and carried on taking the lily for another two weeks as requested by my doctor. I had my last Lily on the 18th of July 2016. It is now the 10th of August 2016. The withdrawals are so severe t...

My Dr. switched me from the pain patch 75's changing it every three days. To Embeda 50 mg once a day. Now I am about to die from withdrawal effects. I don't understand because they are both opiate meds why switching from one to the other should matter. Please help !!! ## Hello, Mark! How are you feeling? Did he have you just directly switch from one to the other, with no break in between? If so, that's likely what's created the problem. Embeda contains Morphine and Naltrexone and, if you aren't already in full withdrawal, the Naltrexone can throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mout...

Just want to tell about my story. I was taking 9 perc 10s at a time which is a very expensive habit to have plus I have a family to care for. I got addicted because I abused my script due to lupus then my mom died and it all went down hill from there. Anyway I got on zubsolv 5.7 took it 3 times a day for 4 days then w times a day 10 days. I stopped taking it for 2 days and then for the next 2 weeks took it randomly skipping days. And now it's been 7 days since my last dose. No withdrawals yet. And hopefully I won't have any but the cravings are strong but also the pain is real from the lupus. Not sure what I'm gonna do about the pain but for now I'm free. ## Hi keyra, Thanks for sharing your story. It sure helps paint a picture for what someone else might come to expect ...

I took Eliquis for 6 days, during those six days the side effects were unbearable to the point I thought I surely would die....I talked to my Dr. told her I was going off the medication she wanted me to keep on it or switch to Zeroltto..I could not bare the thought of another blood thinning medication, I went off, she said I could stop all at once. It has been 5 days since I went off Eliquis, I am fatigued from the moment I put my feet on the floor and start moving, just walking from the house to the car tires me out to the point where all my muscles burn and hurt and I am scared I won't make to the car, sitting and lying down I am ok.....how long will this go on, I have not been to work since being on Eliquis to this day, it has been 11 days...I need to function normally, I live al...

I've been taking 4mg a day of suboxin for 2 years and I didn't really taper of lime I should have.. Now it's day 12 without anything and skin is still crawling and feeling crappy.. How much longer till somewhat normal?? ## Jason stopped taking it after 2 years and I was finished with withdrawals after aprox 6-7 weeks. I actually got worse around 2 weeks because I stopped sleeping which caused severe PAWS. I had to go on sleeper and restless leg med to survive. It's been 5 months and zero issues except I still take restless leg med but much better. ## There is a great article on MedlinePlus about opiate withdrawal. Unfortunately, there is no real way to say how long it may take, since we are all different. You may follow a time frame similar to DeeDee, or yours could be l...

I started taking methadone about 10yrs ago for pain. Started with 80mg a day and by the 2nd yr I was down to 40-50 mg a day. Over this past year I weaned myself off to nothing VERY slowly. It has been a month and I still can't sleep and feel like crap. Any replies would be appreciated. ## Methadone is notoriously hard to stop, it's very well known to cause severe withdrawals and cravings that can last a very long time. It may actually take a couple months, before you start to feel back to normal. That's why many people treated with it for drug addiction end up on a lifetime maintenance dose of it, rather then becoming completely drug free. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, ...

Does anyone have long term experience with Suboxone withdrawal? Mine is really dragging out mentally. It's going on 3 months and I am still shaky, agoraphobic and I feel "stuck." I feel like I'm on about day 5 of an alcohol withdrawal-over the hump but not quite there. It's taking so long & I've GOT to crawl up out of this hole! I'm so frustrated; I don't feel like "ME" ## @niele, Sorry to hear about the drawn out symptoms...I've actually heard rumor of patients still leveling out even 6 months after stopping Suboxone. So it seems to me like the withdrawals and just getting back to normal can possibly take quite a while for some individuals. Perhaps less time for others, depending on various factors. If you have a moment to spare though, I...

Been taking 720mg of oxy ER for 15yrs.9 80s a day Have now tapered to 120 mg over the last 8 months. Wondering where to go after 3 5mg a day. Do i go to norco? Thanks ## Hello, Dc! How are you doing? What has your doctor advised? Generally, rather than go to a different medication, they'd have you start skipping doses to eventually completely wean yourself off. For example, you'd take 3 a day one day, then 2 the next, then back to 3 and gradually start widening the gap every week or so. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Thx for idea, talked to doctor who doesn't know much about.says iam his first patient in 20...

My husband has used fentanyl patches for years for chronic pain. He's been on the lowest dosage for at least 2 years and suddenly he's having terrible withdrawals for no reason. He has been on higher dosages before and the lowest dosage is good enough for his pain. These withdrawals are a nightmare for him and me. He had withdrawals then 2 days later withdrawals again even though both times he had a fresh patch on. Does anyone know why this would happen? Does a body just decide to reject it after a length of time? The patches are fresh, he used some from this box already, so it's not the batch of patches. ## Hi I used the patch n went down did not have withdrawals he shouldn't be Id quite taking them and get to the Pharmacy good Luck ## Hi AGrandma! I have been taking 5-HTP for the last 9 years in varying doses. Lately have taken 50 mg in the evening and 25 mg in the morning. Last week I tried to take 25 mg in the evening, but could not get to sleep and felt very strange. Has anyone else had this happen? I am very frustrated because I want to come off of this. Thank you.

How long would it take to go through a withdrawal from these opioid pain meds such as norcos??? ## Hello, Becky! How are you? It actually depends on how long you were taking it, how much you were taking each day and the way your body reacts to stopping, so there's no hard and fast rule to quote for you. It may take anywhere from a few days to over a month, or so. The FDA lists the withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, headache, diarrhea, rebound pain and depression. How long was the person in question taking it and how much were they taking?

Omg I'm f***n miserable! I didn't think I would have withdrawals this bad after only a month and a half of taking thus drug everyday. It's literally comparable to a milder xanax withdrawal. Yes, I did abuse it. I would take 3 0.1 mgs 2-3 times a day. Tolerance goes up extra quick with this drug. I have none left and I'm on my 3rd day of feeling like s***. I'm on a hundred and 30 milligrams of methadone every day, and it's not even taking care of me in the morning times because of how s***ty I feel. Woah good lord I f***d up royally lol my tolerance for things is always extra high because of how long I've done drugs. I refuse to tell my clinic and I just need some help because I can't find any info about how long it stays in the body when you stop it cold ...

I have taken 15 milligrams of morphine for 3 weeks. how long is withdrawals ## Hello, Sis! How are you? It can vary form person to person, according to the FDA, but usually it takes a week or so, since you've been on it for such a short period of time. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Typical withdrawal effects may include nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, restlessness, nervousness, chills and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
