Day 3 and the devil is still just sitting on my shoulder....I can't beleive how well I am actually feeling...Am I kidding myself, or could the worst still come? Over the last 7 years, I have been on morphine, percs, dilauded, etc, etc. Three days ago my oxy mg was 140 a day...What's up? Please help? ## In my opinion, It depends on how you are feeling now. the worst could be over. However, the devil will always be there from now on. You have to remember that only you and GOD can shake him off. Along with a good support system you can get rid of any addiction, just always remind yourself that you are strongger than any drug that man can make. GOD BLESS YOU, and remind the devil that you have GOD on your side from now on. ## It is also highly possible, that since you were taking th...

what color do these pills look like? ## There is no 60mg of the instant release Oxycodone, it is only available in 5mgs. There is a time released tablet in 60mgs, called Oxycontin, which would have the marking OC or OP on one side and a 60 on the opposite side. The tablets should be red. This is a potent narcotic, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## there is oxycontin 30mg instant release but that is as high as instant release goes. ## oxycodone does not just come in 5mgs. They also come in 10s 15s, 20s, and 30s. I know cause I've had all of them within the last year. I suffer from chronic pancreatitis. Oxycodone does not come in 60mgs. I take 5MG oxycodone 2x a day. Last dose was yesterday 4am and 3pm. Is it safe for me to drink next day, late afternoon? ## Hi survivor, According to research from umm.edu, drinking alcohol with oxycodone in your system can cause potentially dangerous side effects such as difficulty breathing, confusion, dizziness, slurred speech, and impaired cognitive function. For those reasons they recommended that patients avoid alcohol during the course of treatment. The interaction between these two drugs also categorizes it as having a "high interaction potential". This may mean that even just a few sips of something could do you in. Better to play it safe in my opinion. Hope this helps!

I take 5 mgs. of percocet twice daily for approximately 2years now. I am so tired of taking them. today I didn't take any and I feel a pressure in my head. My last one was about 12 midnight. Is this gonna get worse? ## Hi BB, The exact progression of oxycodone withdrawal may be different for each individual. However, from what I hear, symptoms tend to get worse over the first few days before leveling out. Usually for drugs like this, the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, under a doctor's supervision; if possible. Failure to taper may result in much more severe withdrawal symptoms than you might originally anticipate; and could even prolong the withdrawal process over several weeks. For some people with a high tolerance, 10mgs is not a lot. But since you'v...

Hmmm...My experience is just the Opposite!! I been getting Oxycodone 15 mg that was manufactured by both Watson And Malencroft!! I take 1 every 4 hours and I tell you, the last few times of getting them via these two manufacturers was like taking aspirin...Absolutely little to No effect. Plus I found myself wanting to take More than prescribed because I work a very physical job (and love it). I am not one of those people that feel they just need to stay home, feel high on their pain meds, and not e gen Try to do better. Not at all saying who is and is not doing that. But just saying that I am Not one of them. Anyway, However, this was the first time I got my Oxies filled and the mfg is Actavis. And I was not even looking at the mfg. But what happened is I took one of my oxy 15's and...

Can i take 10mg oxycodone every 4 hours without problems, as i take it every 6 hours and it doesn't last long enough? ## You should not take it more often than your doctor has instructed. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Have you informed your doctor? You might need to try a higher dosage.

is there a less expensive medicine than oxycontin 80 Mg TID ## There is no generic for Oxycontin, which is the time released formulation of Oxycodone from Purdue. However, there are generics available of the regular release formulation, the name brand for this is Roxicodone, but it will not last as long as the time released formulation. A time released medication that you may want to discuss with your doctor as an alternative, which is also available as a generic, is MS Contin, which contains the active ingredient Morphine. Oxycodone, however, is stronger than Morphine, so you would require a higher dosage of the MS Contin. Are there any other questions?

i just started taking the oxycodone 15 mg imm tablets how long are they supposed to last before you take another on ## What has your doctor advised? Generally, the immediate release Oxycodone is prescribed to be taken, as needed, every 4 to 6 hours for pain, however, it can vary depending on the severity of pain. It may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. ## thanks so much as i said i am new to this med and i have loritab as well my pain is very severe due to several things wrong with my spine , spinal stenous, ruptured disks and spinal disease, the oxycodone seems to work a small amount just doesn't seem to last long due they make a stonger oxycodone that is like the one i am taking ## Judi, there is no immediate release in a higher dosag...

I was just prescribed this med as Previously I have been on 5/325 oxycodone x4 daily. ( for 3 years now) I cut them in half for 7.5 dose as prescribed for breakthrough pain x3 daily. I also take 200mg Ultram ER. once a day. Will this new med react differently in my system? Last longer or shorter term relief? Dr changed due to the apap and liver concerns. ## If you have been taking Oxycodone already, your reaction and side effects really shouldn't be any different, though since it is a higher dosage that you are getting all at once, since it's immediate release, they may be more pronounced. Such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. It also should last about the same amount of time, it just releases the medication faster than the regular release tablets that you were t...

What if the RP oxy tabs that are all the same color with just different numbers may be left over from a placebo study? I got some from a big pharm company that said ordering them was paperwork hell. ive bee taking 15 mg of oxycodone every 4hrs for chronic pain do to a brain injury that occured about 4 months ago. ive never had ANY cetimeiphen in it ever. please explain why some people do have this and some don't. thanks. p.s oxycodone is definatley stronger than hydrocone. i am about to go to to 15mg of the hydrocodone it works better for me. definitly and last longer. why? ## Hello, Travis! How are you? Some of them contain Acetaminophen, because it augments the narcotic opiate and helps it work better, so it has a stronger effect and works better to relieve pain. However, the narcotic is still effective without it and it isn't necessary to prescribe one that contains Acetaminophen for everyone. It can be very rough on the liver, especially if someone is taking high amount...

Hi, I'm a chronic pain patient and have been taking this medication for about 4 months, but this last time I have not been able to find any pharmacy to fill my prescription at. Is there anyone who knows a pharmacy in or around los angeles or neighboring cities that will fill an rx for 60 30mg oxycodone? I can't drive around and shop store to store since the pain I am in prohibits me from doing so. I've been to about 20 places without luck. Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you! ## I need a pain doctor in Phoenix. I just found out all the pain. management places are really rehab's so I don't go to them. Yesterday I picked up a 20 day supply of oxycontin 30 mg. It was a 20 day script. At 2 a day my px was for 60. I was HORRIFIED when the pharmacist billed me for 325.00, including my insurance discount. They claimed there is not a generic oxycontin. Oxycodone 30 mg was $15 for 60...so needless to say I was shocked!!! Is there an equivalent slow release to replace 30 mg of oxycontin? There has got to be something. I got into a bit of a habit with taking too many 30 oxycodone, which is why I was put on a slow release. Any advice out there? The pharmaceutical companies are gouging us beyond belief, and I've got a medical condition due to an accident where I need these pills, at least for another 2 months or so. The $325.00 price has me in a state of high anxiety however. Is hydromorphin...

I have had chronic lower back pain for over 10yrs. I was assaulted in 2014. Suffering from chronic neck & shoulder pain, taking tablets imprinted with '230' but they don't last. Someone told me the 'a333' tablets are better. Are they better? ## Both of these tablets are listed as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so they are the same. The FDA warns that they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It might be that you need a higher dosage to alleviate your pain. Have you informed your doctor of the problem?

I took a suboxone 8mg and I have some serious pain. Will vicodin work on the pain or not? I am not looking to feel high, this pain is horrible. ## Hi Cheryl, Sorry to hear about your challenges with pain. From what I'm reading in other related discussion threads here, the general consensus I've gathered is that most patients recommend waiting an estimated 48 to 72 hours to reap the full effectiveness of their pain meds after Suboxone. This is in part due to Buprenorphine's long half life of 24-60 hours (est.), which has a higher affinity than other opioids on your receptors. I hope this helps! ## i have been taking 80 mg of oxycontin and 60 mg of oxycodone day for 7 years due to back pain.i stopped last week and started suboxene. I am currently on an oxycodone m/r script, and find that it certainly does not last for the claimed twelve hours per tablet. No matter what, my doctor refuses to prescribe anything for this 'breakthrough' pain, not even a 20mg OxyNorm to carry me over. I have heard, however that a DIFFERENT analgesic is best in this situation. Since most drug information sites and forums are American, the drug which keeps cropping up and is most highly recommended to me is hydrocodone. This is NOT available in the UK, and despite many attempts, I can find no place to access it. The only other country which uses hydrocodone, in a much better pure form, is Germany, where it is available under the brand DICODID by Knoll, 10mg per tablet.
