is colozapam for anxiety and depression ? ## The pill in description is Clonazepam; which is a benzodiazepine derivative with highly potent anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, and anxiolytic properties. Please post back if you do. ## I was prescribed it to help deal with severe chronic pain and what goes with that. Although it wasn't prescribed for depression, I suffer from that due to chronic pain and PTSD. WELL This is marketed under the brand name Klonopin and it was a trade off. I would be able to sleep (it's extremely sedating), but for the next 24-36 I would be a different person. Almost like a zombie. Worst side effect I had was it takes away any coordination, slurred speech, and w...

I have battled anxiety my whole life and my current primary care doctor thinks it's a joke and simply told me "you'll grow out of it." Due to recent hardships in my life the anxiety has gotten much worse and now depression has developed. I made an appointment with a local Psychiatrist in Greensboro but I just looked over all of his reviews and it seems every patient who comes into his office is diagnosed bipolar and put on very strong anti psychotics with major side effects, I don't want that. I was hoping maybe some xanax or valium with a mild anti depressant and some good counseling. Any suggestions? ## Hello, Jeffey! How are you? If your PCP doesn't take your issues seriously, then you may want to look into finding a different doctor. As to the Psychiatrist, t...

What you need is some old fashioned therapy along with some possible medicine as well. It would be best to make an appointment with a Psychiatrist although a Psychologist can help you but without the medicine

I am a young female in the Cincinnati Ohio trip state area. I just recently got insured by my employer, but on a high deductible health plan and my expenses are limited, I'd like to keep expenses to a minimum for a primary care doctor and not tons of therapy and psychiatry. The car wreck has already cost over 2000. I suffer from depression and generalized anxiety and possible ADHD. (Dropped from dads insurance at 24 due to age... Doctor referred me to psychiatrist becore i was dropped and could not afford to go after I was). I recently was in a car accident and fractured my spine. I need to find a new primary care doctor ( i went to the same physician for over 14 years) and finally have my mental disorders treated after years of suffering, along with treatment for my painful back in...

I have been taking Lyrica for about 3-4 weeks, low does of 50mg twice a day for cervical disc problems (neck) nerve pain. I am female, 42 years old. I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING MAD. Almost immediately I started experiencing a "high" feeling, and feel very disconnected to everything around me. I have trouble concentrating and sticking to any task, which is making working very difficult (I am a journalist/writer). My doctor warned me I might feel very drowsy after taking it, but I have the opposite problem - I cannot sleep. I average about 3/4 hours a night if I'm lucky. I feel very groggy when I wake and have been experiencing such violent, disturbing dreams that I constantly wake in a highly anxious state. My dreams scare me. In then I am behaving very violently to people arou...

Hi, I have very high anxiety.. I've tried everything!! I didn't want to be on any narcotics because I'm a opiate addict for 10 years and been clean for 2 years!! (Never looking back either, it was really hard to get off and I still think about it every day to this day). So I told my doctor this and that I did not want to be on anything that was addictive or a narcotic. So they prescribed me Prozac among a lot of other things. I had depression which I do not usually have. I have very very high anxiety and the only thing that seems to work is Xanax. Yes it is addictive and yes it's a narcotic. They won't prescribe it to me because I told them about my past addiction but that is the only thing that works. Has anyone else had experience taking Prozac and can say if it wo...

I feel lonely, not talking to anyone, non-energetic, lasy, insecre & unsafe. i don't feel like working & not even come out of home. Please need your advice what to do? ## Dear Raj Raj, Sorry to hear about all your challenges. First, what you have reported when consuming alcohol sounds like the normal effects. Some people just don't tolerate alcoholic beverages well and prefer to avoid them. With regards to how else you are feeling mentally and emotionally, it sounds like you may be dealing with clinical depression, anxiety, or bi-polar disorder. Can you get in to see a psychiatrist soon? It c...

Since high school I have suffered from anxiety and some depression. I am 25 now. My anxiety is triggered by most social interactions. In high school I would hide in the bathroom because i couldn't face going to class or go to the library during lunch sometimes so I wouldn't have to interact socially. I dropped out of college because my anxiety kept me from going to class and giving presentations or just because I was afraid to be in class with so many strangers. I can't get a job because I feel an overwhelming panic at going to interviews or starting new working with people I don't know. I have no motivation to do anything during the day. I can't focus on tasks im supposed to do and easily get overwhelmed by large projects. I have been put on various anti anxiety med...

I suffer from high anxiety, ADHD and minor depression. Last week I talked to my doctor and he prescribed me 50 mg Pristiq for the anxiety and 30 mg Vyvanse for ADHD. I have been taking both as directed, the Vyvance in the morning and the Pristiq at night before bed. So far the Vyvanse is working well for me. I feel much more focused, have more energy, and have been more social and more productive at work- just an overall better mood. The problem is that about 7 or 8 hrs after taking the Vyvanse it starts wearing off and I start feeling extremely anxious and can't sleep. The doctor said the Pristiq takes at least 2-3 weeks to start working, so I'm not sure how that will effect me yet. I read that sleeplessness is a common side effect of both of these drugs, but I can't stand ...

I just received my order for Lori-2 (from India). The pills are in blister packs and stamped Lorazepam. Hoping someone might have used Lori-2 and can let me know how effective they are for anxiety. Thank you so much for any replies! ## If these are indeed Lorazepam tablets, then they should help alleviate symptoms associated with anxiety and/or depression. Ultimately, you'd have to test it for yourself though, to know for sure how it's going to effect you, since every drug effects each person differently (especially when it comes to things like anxiety or depression - where underlying issues can run deep within the subconscious). Lorazepam itself is considered to have a relatively high potency, so i'd imagine you should be able to notice it's effects and assess how it ma...

Husband has myriad of physical and mental issues, the most debilitating to me is his anxiety and depression. The only drug that gas helped me is PAXIL WITH KLONOPIN! I also take serious pain med.s but have been on the same b4 with no interference. ## Ativan is a very strong anti aniety medicine. I took it, hated it, and stopped. 1 week later I was almost dead from a benzo withdrawal. You might consider asking for a switch to Xanax/Klonopin/Valium ## Hes been on the ativan for 22 ...

I have a Psychiatrist and he gives me an RX for 0.5, two times a day. I run out. I have SEVERE anxiety and depression. At times I take a larger dose (I need to) and that is helpful. The Dr. however says 0.5 is enough. My former Psychiatrist, for many years, gave me 1mg. It was a blue pill and I could only take up to 5 each day. That was very helpful and some days I didn't need to take 5 pills, so I didn't. I'm 72 years young and don't abuse drugs. ## It is suggested that older people do not take large amounts of Benzodiazipines . 5mg is a large dose. What do you take for depression? I'll admit 1 mg is not a lot, but I have actually gone down 33% from 3mg to 2 mg after almost dying by using this drug.

At first I was a wreck, super high anxiety and depression and I cried several times a day. I think that might have been due to stopping my previous med Celexa though. I'm on day 8 of Viibryd and I really feel like it's starting to help. I take it at night when I plan on going to sleep soon because it gives me stomach upset, not really nausea either but a bad sharp burning pain above my navel. It's nothing that keeps me from sleeping but something I'd rather not deal with during the day hence the night time dose. Another con to my experience with Viibryd so far is I took my first 20 mg. dose last night and had a horrible night trying to sleep. It was hard for me to fall sleep because I had bad anxiety and mild panic attacks. Then once asleep I kept waking up. However desp...

I suffer from anxiety and depression. It wasn't until I found myself sitting at a traffic light and wincing from the overwhelming feeling of sadness. I was well aware that I came from a high anxiety family and was certain I inherited that from my mother. What I didn't realize was how depression had slowly creeped into my life. I had no reason to feel depressed. I have a good job and wonderful family. No real money problems just the usual bills yet I had an overwelming feeling of sadness. I schedule a physical and went to see my doctor. During the physical he asked if I had anything to complain about medical or otherwise. So I told about the feeling at the traffic light and all the rest. He offered me lexapro after questioning me about a family history. He explained the there is ...

I have suffered from anxiety/depression prob my whole life. I just dealt with it as i did not know much about mental health. I just thought it was life. of course that was not good because its easy to deal when in high school because few to no real responsibilities. Very scary to go to a crowed campus for college with anxiety/depression then you stop going and your parents and peers think its just you and it gets worse etc… I have tried many antidepressants and none have worked or gave me even a feeling of something different except some zombie effects. i just stuck to the typical narcotic medication xanax and adderall. xanax was to help the physical symptoms of my anxiety ex. stiff muscles, just stiff everything, and adderall for the can't think, fatigue etc.. but those medica...

I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety when I was 16 and started taking Zoloft. within 6 months of treatment I was taking 100mg of Zoloft, and here I am four years later still depending on it each day. Due to the high dosage, it caused me to have very very very bad side affects such as migraines and becoming restless 24/7. They then started me on Amitriptyline to help out balance the side affects and it worked perfectly. I take 25 mg of amitriptyline at night. 3 years after continuously taking the Zoloft and Amitriptyline, my psychiatrist added me onto clonodine at night to help me sleep and it works wonders, but I'm afraid I'm addicted to it, mentally. if I don't take it or accidentally miss taking it at night, I am completely restless at night to the point where I don...

Prescribed as a added medication for anxiety/depression. If I feel it's giving me side effects would it be suggested to taper off 100mg per a nightly dose of 1000mg? Been taking this for 5 years. ## That's actually a very high dose and you've been taking it for a very long time, thus a 100mg reduction might be too much. Learn more Gabapentin details here. What types of side effects is it causing? It would be odd to experience them after such a long period of time. Have you consulted your doctor? They'd be best able to guide you on a safe tapering schedule. Since this is an anticonvulsant, tapering down too fast could put you at risk of seizures, so it's not safe to try to play with it on your own.

Do you have a list of medications that will make you itch? I'm on six different types of medication. They are for depression, asthma, anxiety, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Any advice to help stop the itching? Can't sleep. ## Hello, Rachel! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Unfortunately, I can't state which one might be causing it, just based on the classes of the medications, nor can I possibly list all the medications that could cause itching, the FDA has far too large of a list. Can you please post back with the names of the actual medications you are taking? If so, I will be very happy to check the side effect information for you. Thanks!
