I have a TBI and suffer from sever headaches and have now for 12 years. I have been told 3 separate times by 3 separate DRs that they will not take care of me any longer. I'm at the end of my rope and find it harder and harder to keep on with life it self. Can someone please help me? I don't know how much longer I can do the headaches and live this way? Please ## Hello, James! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in so much pain. When is the last time you consulted a neurologist? There are new treatments available, as listed by the NIH, but the only person who will likely be able to help you is a specialist. Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions?

Is the new formulation of fioricet now class 3. A controlled substance. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? That is what being on Schedule III means, it's been found to have potential for abuse and dependence. The Butalbital in it is a barbiturate. But you do need to understand that most prescription drugs are considered controlled substances. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It is the same except it now has 25 mg of Tylenol less. The ratio of tylenol to the barbituate changed and that is what made it now a controlled substance. It's crazy!

I have been taking Ampyra for 4 days. I have noticed a decrease in fatigue but headaches daily. The question is will they eventually go away on their own, or do I skip a day and see if they stop or quit til I see the doc ? ## Since last posting I have reduced amount to 1 per 24 hr. headaches are still occuring.2 Excedrin migraine seems to help.I have noticed an improvement in energy. ## I have been taking Ampyra for 4 days now I am feeling like the walking is slightly easier. I'm on day 2 and have headaches, almost migraines. Does this side effect go away? And how long before I know if I'm a responder to this medication? The possible side effects scare me but I've been dieting and excersizing for 4 months and have lost 11 lbs but can't seem to shake the cravings and desire to keep eating, my PCP RX'd me this and I saved for it ($160 total with $75 off coupon). Just don't wanna keep taking if these headaches won't go away and if it doesn't "work" for me. ## Hello, Ricababy! How are you? Yes, headaches can be a normal side effect and it may take about 4 weeks, before they start to taper off, as your body gets used to the medication, that's about the same time span it will take, before you'll know if it's work...

I'm on Contrave almost 3 mos and lost 29 lbs...that's the great part, but lately I am getting the worst headaches, usually over one eye . Lately I've been getting 3 headaches a week and all I could do is lay in bed. Sometimes ice on my head feels better or even the pressure from the pillow being on my head to block out the light helps. I went to my prescribing doctor and she said headaches are a side effect. Other than a headaches my only other side effect is dry mouth. My doctor said the headache should go away as this does happen to a few patients on this meds. Advil migraine doesn't seem to help so I really don't know what else I could take with contrave. If I wasn't on contrave this kind of headache would definitely be gone with a Vicodin! But I know I cannot...

took plavix over 20 years. doc took me off and i noticed really bad headaches. could it be a withdrawal side effect? ## If you were taking it for that long and just suddenly stopped abruptly, without tapering off of it, then yes, that can happen as a withdrawal effect. Learn more Plavix details here. It should taper off in severity soon, after your body starts to adjust to no longer having the medication, but if it doesn't or if it gets worse, then you should seek immediate medical attention, because rebound effects can also occur from stopping such a medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## i wonder why the doctor didnt tell us this... my head has been killing me for 3 or 4 weeks now... shuld i start the plavix again for a week or o until the headaches stop and then b...

Can anyone help with a cure, or reason why I get headaches? Mainly come on in the early hours, just before I get up. They usually drift away, If I get up before they set in, otherwise they linger all blooming day, sometimes last into the next day. I have tried many different pills, and potions. Bachs Floewer remedy, Tens machine, Acupuncture, Senn a Psycologist, had a brain scan (yes they found one before you ask) A neurologist put it down to muscle tension headaches, now all I can do is just live with it. I can't believe I have to live the rest of my life waking up every morning with a headache. It has cost me friends, jobs, and even my marriage. Sleep apnea has been ruled out. But, the latest pill Pregablin looks like it may be working, after a week of taking them. Has anyone ever...

How is your daughter doing? Yes, the headaches could be due to either one of those medications, or perhaps the combination of both. The hormones in the Minerva can cause headaches as a side effect and the Purbac can cause them in some people, as well. I'd say yo...

I get servere headache which lasts for hours I may stop taking this med n justuse pump spray if get chest pain ## Hello, Ady! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the headaches. However, it would best to speak to your doctor, before stopping it, as there might be something you can use to help mitigate the headaches. The spray can also cause them. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dry mouth and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with?

It's Azithromycin. It usually is a 5 day Rx prescription. Results from it last 4-10 days after prescription is over. I was given it for chronic headaches. If your doctor prescribes you GGD6 for headaches, I would ask for something else. It hasn't worked for me and I'm still getting headaches daily. ## Azithromycin is an antibiotic that's used to treat bacterial infections, it is not something prescribe for headaches. Are you certain that is the medication you're thinking of? Is the ggd6 supposed to be the marking on something or the name of something?

Does anyone have any tips on treating the headaches that goes along with the suboxone? I have had chronic pain issues my whole adult life. I have been very surprised that the suboxone helps my pain very much. I just can't stand these headaches. ## Hello, Cj! How are you? I'm sorry about the headaches. Have you tried any nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, if your doctor approves of you taking them, such as Advil or Aleve? Since you're on Suboxone, other narcotics won't work, but many people get relief with NSAIDs. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

1 week on Xeralto for heart ablation. Was on waif in for 2 months no problems. Having bad headache before bed and waking up to them as well. Take 20mg Xeralto evening meal. This morning was just so frustrated never have headaches, do got on Internet and discovered could be xeralto. It is the only difference in meds. And other thing weird body order. Anyone experienced this? ## Hello, Selah! How are you? Yes, headaches can be a common side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. As to the unusual body odor, that can occur with virtually any medication, due to the way they affect your body chemistry. Is there anything else I can help with?

In Aug. of 2016, I fell and broke my arm. I took Oxycodone for pain for about 3 months. It was the best sleep I'd had in 13 years (since my son passed away). Then my doc took it away. On Feb. 13, 2017, I had a trigger finger repaired and he gave me Oxycodone again. This time, I have a headache and trouble sleeping. Why is this? Oh and I only take it at night. If I take it more than that, I get very sick and sweaty. Thank you. ## Those can be normal side effects of this medication, so your body may have changed with age, causing you to experience them, now, though you didn't before. The FDA also warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and you may also experience dry mouth, and constipation. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

Thyroxine gives me debilitating headaches. Armour Thyroid seems to do nothing. Tyrosine and iodine also give me headaches and make me perspire and feel weak. Anyone got any advice? I suffer from hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia ## Levothyroxine is a thyroid hormone used to treat people whose thyroids are underactive. That said, headaches can be a common side effect, though they normally taper off as your body adjusts to the medication. Did yours continue past a month or so? Have you tried talking to your doctor to see if there is a solution, perhaps something you can use for the headaches or to prevent them? ## I have had migraines with Levothyroxine so came off tablets but went on the liquid Iml syringe at a time and increase every three days; this seems to be working. Hope this helps! ...

Hi. I'm bi-polar 2. Have bee on Epitec 200 mg for 10 months. It has now been increased to 250mg. I've been doing great, the only problem now is the constant headache. Could this be the Epitec? ## I've been on Epitec 300mg for years and have no headache problems. It might effect you differently. Check on the packaging if it could be a side effect. ## @Daleen, These medications can certainly effect each individual differently. To answer your question though, yes, headache is regarded as a severe side effect of Epitec (Lamotrigine), which you should report to your doctor as soon as possible to avoid any worsening of it. For future reference I think the list of side effects in the link below may be of help to you in knowing what you may or may not experience as a result of takin...
