I have a Medtronic's pain pump. When brand name Dilaudid is being used I do just fine. When the Dr. refills and puts generic Hydromorphone (without changing the dosage), within hours I'm stumbling & losing my balance & very light headed. Dr, says there is no difference they are made the same. If they are the same then why do I have bad results without knowing that he put the generic in? I can't stand & close my eyes without hanging on to something or I will fall in 2 or 3 seconds. ## What I wanted to know about my earlier post today is ! they talk about fillers being different between brand name Dilaudid and the generic Hydromorphone can you help me in any way? Help! ## Hello, Leonard! How are you? Yes, under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to ...

whats the difference between hydromorphone and hydromorphone rox ## What is the difference in opana and hydromorphine? My insurance will pay for the second one, but not the first. ## Opana is a brand name drug , it would be called oxymorphone, generically, the other is Diluadid and it come generic as, Hydromorphone, If you get oxymorphone, the generic name of Opana, the insurance company would pay for it, but it is not available generically I believe. ## Not sure why nurse said my zofran is a controlled substance. My daily nauseaad vomit from rare gastro disorder is helped by zofran. Does it matter if the pill with the M on one side and the 4 on the other are either hydromorphone or dilaudid for what kind of strength or the effects you get from it? Also is there such a thing as timed release either one of those? ## Hello, James! How are you? Hydromorphone is the active ingredient in Dilaudid, so that is what the generics are called. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The time released formulation is called Exalgo. Is there anything else I can help with?

Need a picture of an 8 mg dilaudid / hydromorphone pill ## Hello, Lando! How are you? I'm sorry, but there are quite a few on the market, since this medication is available as both a name brand and a generic, so I can't post all the descriptions for you. What are the markings on the tablet in question? If you can post back with more information, I will gladly check for you to see what the tablet contains. Thank you! This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Is there a dilauded that is round, light green, has a line across one side and no letters or numbers on either side but has a outline of a woman head or it's a fancy U or A? ## There are no Dil...

blue round pill with a 2 on one side and a 3 on the other. is this a generic morphine? ## No, no morphine listed in the US prescription drugs databases with that code on it. Prescription drugs generally have both letters and numbers on them since regulations require that they can be identified by them, so you know who the manufacturer is, the dose and the drug. My guess is that if all that is on there is a 2 on one side and a 3 on the other, it is probably an over the counter item. Remember, the color of a tablet doesn't meany anything. Just because they are some blue morphine pills, not all blue pills are morphine.

I have posted before about these meds which are the most effective rescue meds available (though not here in the UK) from my OxyContin, which only lasts a maximum of six hours and not the 12 as stated on the box, so need up to three rescue dosages of a suitable 4-hour action analgesic daily. First, can anybody tell me if the much cheaper TEVA US generic oxymorphone is up to the quality standard of the excellent Endo IR OPANA 10mg (and occasionally I need 5mg tablets as well)? What is the best value for money brand of hydromorphone IR high dosage (4mg and 8mg)? I know that the original Abbott/Purdue DILAUDID is by far best, but I hear good things about Ethex and Mallinckrodt's generics. Mallinckrodt also tend to be a lot cheaper than most generic opioids. Finally, how on earth can I ...

What does the Canadian version of a 1mg Dilaudid look like? It has an 1h on one side and APO on the other and it's green. ## Yes, this tablet is a generic for Dilaudid that is manufactured by Apotex Canada, they list it as containing 1mg of Hydromorphone. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Is hydromorphone the same as dilaudid I've. ## @Biglou, Hydromorphone is the generic name for Dilaudid (brand name), so yes, they are the same drug in that sense. However not all dosage forms are IV-based. For example, I've seen 4mg Dilaudid tablets in person and have also heard of patients taking 2 to 8mg tablets throughout this forum. One other thing to note is that they do make a brand called "Dilaudid-HP" (Hydromorphone Hydrochloride Inj.) which is marketed for intravenous use. Although, I have yet to find out if there is a generic form of the IV as well. Hope this helps answer your question! ## Regarding the post of Hydromorphine IV and dilaudulid: they are the same medication. I was on Dilaudid, (generic name) Exalgo ER 8 mg oral for chronic pain. While in hospital...

my daughter is addicted to this drug. I need 2 know, what these pills look like. ## They are tiny, yellow, and round. ## Actually, there is NO possible way to describe ALL of them that are on the market, or post pictures of them. Dialudid is also available as a generic, Hydromorphone, once these are on the market, they are made by MANY different companies and how the tablets look is ENTIRELY up to the manufacturers, there is NO rule stating they all have to be the same size, shape or color. Crystal may have seen tiny, yellow round ones, but I have seen large, oval white ones, the size can also vary according to dose. The easiest way to do handle this is, if you find a tablet you are suspicious of, post back with the imprint and we will gladly look it up for you to check its contents. I ...

I get sick on the hydromorphone made by Mallinckrodt. Can anyone recommend a different and better manufacturer? ## Any except Arobindo brands. I have received Mallinckrodt Adderall that were so weak I had to double the dose to get it to work. And I usually take half the recommended dose of other brands. Aurobindo is the only manufacturer that I have found that’s worse than Mallinckrodt. Something in those meds makes me physically ill. ## All generic meds have fillers. That’s probably the reason you get “sick”. You should try taking your med with a meal, A small meal would suffice. ## Nausea, and dizziness can be side effects of narcotic analgesics, such as Hydromorphone, so there is also a chance that it just isn't the right medication for you. Other side eff...

who knows what pharmacy has generic dilaudid in stock in spring hill Fl. 34606?! ## In order to find out which pharmacy has this medication in stock, you'd probably have to go in person to each pharmacy that you intend on having it filled at and ask them in person. Reason being is that most pharmacists will be reluctant to tell a complete stranger over the phone if they have one of the most potent narcotic pain relievers in stock. If you are having trouble filling a script, I have heard that others are trying Walgreens Mail Order services with better success. Is there anyone else in Florida who can suggest what has or hasn't worked for you, in so far as filling your prescription? ## I was having a big problem getting my scripts filled for different scheduled drugs over the years...

Is It Safe To Take 20mg Of Percocet And 4mg Hydromorphone Together every 4 hrs? ## I'm sorry, but there is actually no 20mg Percocet tablet. Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone and is only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Oxycodone. Did you mean just a regular Oxycodone tablet, like the generic for Roxicodone, which is available in a 20mg dosage? Have these both been prescribed by the same doctor? Many times, different narcotics are prescribed together, to try to help someone get better control of pain. A lot of times a person may given a regular release of time released narcotic, along with an instant release or regular release, respectively, so one can help control their pain faster, while the other one has the chance to kick in. When using 2 narcotics together, ...

Trying to find a picture of what the generic form of Exalgo 16mg tablets look like. ## Hello, Rose! How are you? What are the markings on the tablet in question? There is a 16mg extended release Hydromorphone tablet that is white, round and has the marking WPI 3630 on it and that is the only generic that I've found in this dosage, so far. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## That is what I thought. Last month my pharmacist gave me my Rx of Exalgo half of the pills were the yellowish color with Exh and 16 on the tablet and some said the W with 3630 if I recall. M2 on one side, its white and is a pill ## If the tablet has M2 on the same side, then it is not a Dilaudid/Hydromorphone tablet. The one with the M2 on the same side, that's blank on the other contains 20mgs of Furosemide, which is a diuretic that's used to remove excess fluid from the body to treat conditions such as edema, hypertension and congestive heart failure. Will someone PLEASE tell me who makes the BEST 8 mg Hydromorphone? I can't afford the brand name. I heard Mallincrodkt sucks. BUT they do make the best Roxicodone. But I can't find anyone to tell me which manufacturer makes the best 8 mg hydromophone. It's driving me INSANE. I don't want my prescription filled with ineffective medications and ya know you can't take it back. So far I have found Roxanne, Mallinckrodt, and one other I can't remember the name. But that's it. Roxanne only got 8.6 out of 10. They don't make Abbott anymore UNFORTUNATELY cause I heard they were the best. If someone can help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it. Laws are crazy in FL. I just moved to Tampa from Pinellas County. Because my doc is in Pinellas county, I can't get the medication filled in Tampa. Because I moved to Tampa, I can't get the medication filled in Pinellas county. This is nuts! Also, I can't find a pharmacy that can order it in, even if I go to my old (where they know me) CVS in Largo, FL because there is some kind of shortage. This is absolutely ridiculous. Is this oval white tab with m 357 on it generic for Lortab? Is this in the same family of Diluadid? . ## That stands for Acetaminophen with Hydrocodone, it is generic for Lortab and yes, the Hydrocodone is a narcotic opiate, just like the Hydromorphone in Dilaudid. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and dizziness. Read more here: Do you have any other questions?

My boyfriend is taking 2mg generic for Dilaudid for a knee replacement. He had no problems in the hospital with the brand name drug, but is having horrible headaches since coming home and using the Generic. Does it make sense that the generic can cause this? ## Dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, & nausea are all listed as common side effects associated with Dilaudid (Hydromorphone), no matter whether it's generic or not. However it is likely the different inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) of the generic version we're probably what triggered the onset of those headaches. I'd also keep in mind that generic medications can contain up to 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient - compared to the amount found in brand names. For some people, these subtle dif...
