In December I was in the hospital for 7 days for lung issues. I also have a lot of other issues with my back and kidneys. I my primary doctor has had me on noco for several years and sometimes when the pain is bad she gives me oxcodone to take in between for break though pain. In the end of December I had lipotripsy. The stone didn't break enough and I was in a great amount of pain so kidney doctor went ahead and done another lipotripsy 3 weeks earlier then he would have liked to. That was at the end of January. They put you to sleep to do this so you are totally out of it for most of the day. Kidney doctor gave my husband several Rx to fill on the way home. One was for oxycodone. I had no idea of this until I went to my primary doctor about 3 weeks later and thought nothing about t... ...

Find A veterans administration Doctor to prescribe Oxycodone

How can I find a VA doctor to prescribe oxycontin? I have chronic pain. This drug helps to relieve it, and it doesn't make me loopy. However, because there are those who abuse it, I have not been able to find a VA doctor who will prescribe it. ## I know a few veterans that go to the VA for all there primary care doctors but go to a pain management clinic because the VA is very strict on giving narcotics. They do have a pain management program at the VA but they will start you drugs like tramdol, baclofen and gabapentin and I doubt you will ever get oxycontin. You are probably better off finding a pm doc who is not affiliated with the VA. Good luck ## Have a legit pain issue and you wont have a problem. I get morphine and oxys from the va. ## @Rod Keen, Unfortunately, no one can real... ...

Need to find a doctor!

I have been on Oxycontin 80mg and Oxycodone 30mg for breakthrough for close to 9yrs. I am finding it very difficult to find a doctor that will write my medication. My primary doctor was writing them, then he wanted me to go to a Pain Doctor because he thought I would benefit from going because they specialized in Pain Mgmt. I became disabled in 2004. My disability is from something that happened when I was 10/11. My growth plate in my left leg/hip dissolved prematurely, which caused my leg to slip out of my hip. It's a very rare occurrence. When my mother took me to the orthopedic surgeon he told her 5 days longer and I would have never walked again. I lived at children's hospital for 6mths at a time, twice. Once; to put the bolts in my leg to force the fusion of my leg to my hi... ...

my husband broke his back his L 3 Vertebrata two years ago and was prescribed oxycodone from his sergeant and has been on this narcotic every since. And now he got a letter stating that he can no longer recieve his prescription from that sergeants office anymore and that he needs to go to his primary care physician and he does not have one.. So we decided to just try to get him off of the oxycodone and he started to fill really sick and his back was killing him so i guess what i am trying to figure out is what to do about the situation should we get him to a pain Management Doctor or should we go to a detox clinic? He really hates that he has to take a pain killer to function and when it wears off he fills really sore and gets the cold sweats and he needs another pill.. I have to get him i ...

Getting a new prescription for oxycodone.

I have been given one prescription for 5mg of oxycodone after a spinal fusion surgery on L4&5, one prescription of 5 mg oxycodone for total hip surgery, and another prescription for the same for shingles within the last four years at different times. I used all the pills at those times. Now, there are days that my back where I had the fusion kills me that I can barely walk. Do I go back to the orthopedic doctor who did the surgery? With all that's going on with these controlled substances, will I get them without a problem, or do I get them from my primary care doctor if I show him the bottles? Over the counter does nothing for my back pain. I am 72 years old. ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, speaking to them about your pain, so they c... ...

I had surgery in May for disc replacement in C5 and C6 and was taking 10-325mg of Norco for pain, on October 12th I had a disc replaced in L5-S1 and my surgeon put me on 10-325mg of Percocet and Valium 10mg. I have been depressed at home and went to my primary care doctor who prescribed 7.5-500mg of Lortab, I was taking the other meds 2 every 4 hours for pain and have been dropped to 1 Lortab every 4-6 hours, this is not controlling my pain, my doctor feels I have been taking the Percocet for too long, 2 months, he also took me off my Valium 10mg and changed it to Klonopin 1mg, half to 1 pill twice a day, I have been in a lot of pain for a few days now since changing dosages and feel anxious and depressed, is this acceptable or should I go talk to my surgeon again and have my meds chang... ...

May be moving to Florida. Will I have a hard time finding a doctor to keep me on the same pain meds, oxocodone 10mg? I have been on this now for 2 years & my heart and G.I. doctors know I take this prescribed by my primary doctor. I don't want to have to be put through the wringer for I didn't ask for this pain med. My primary changed it to this from norco due to the acetaminophen in my others meds. He stated that with my other meds plus the norco i was getting too much acetaminophen so he started me on the oxycodone. I know it's a strong narcotic but with my huge list of allergies this was what they came up with. I have no problem going to a pain clinic or signing the pain contract, I just don't know where I start looking for the correct doctors I will need. I know ... ...

I am taking oxycodone rho 30 mg for severe back and leg and foot pain. I've been reading about rho and do not like what I am seeing. The pain clinic I go to changed the manufacturer a few months ago and I want to go to a different manufacturer. Do you think the clinic will honor a request to change? They are causing me to have breathing problems. Advice please. Thanks ## Hello, Edward! How are you? The prescribing doctor cannot dictate which generic you receive from your pharmacy. The only thing they can do, if necessary, is write the prescription as 'brand medically necessary', or whatever the equivalent is in your state. Even if the clinic has an in-house pharmacy, like my primary care doctor does, the doctor still doesn't control which generic they fill your prescript... ...

Anyone know of a dr in sonoma county, CA who prescribes oxycidone and takes medi-care? Ive been taking 100mgs for several years and my meds were stolen so my primary cancelled my contract. I had not breached my contract b4. No early fills, etc... I think she just wanted me off & that was her opportunity. ## Hello, Jay! How are you? Yes, if she was a PCP that might be so, because they are actually supposed to cut down on who they prescribe such medications for, due to new regulations that were put in place last year. If you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such a... ...

Hi my name is Rosy and I'm suffering from breast cancer and fibromalgia and spinal stenosis and herniated disks my pain management prescribed me peecocet10mg325 And my primary doctor prescribed me oxicoden 10mg. Cr I feel the this oxicodene10mg.crare not relieve the pain as much is the percoxe 10mg.325 Thank you so much for your help . ## Hello, Rosy! How are you feeling? The reason you may feel that the Percocet relieves your pain more is due to the Acetaminophen that it contains. It helps the Oxycodone to work better for some people that take it. Thus, though they both contain Oxycodone, the Acetaminophen may give it just enough of a boost to help you more. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side ef... ...

Need to find a doctor in Upstate NY that specializes in Migraines
1 Reply RSS
I have had migraines since I was 13. Recently, last 4 months, found that Oxycodone takes the pain, auora, and naseau away in about an hour, and keeps it away for up to 8 hours. This is a miracle. No other migraine drug ever worked like this. Now, with the new laws, my primary won't prescribe this. I need to locate a migraine doctor that will treat me. I only get one or two headaches a month, and take 1-2 pills for them, so I am only needing 4 to 6 pills a month, but still impossible to get them. They really are a life changer for migraine sufferers. I wish someone had tried these on me 30 years ago. My life would have been a lot easier. ## Due to the new regulations, you'll need to see a specialist, so that could be either someone specializing in pain management, or a neurologis... ...

Why, if she knew or thought this pain clinic was prescribing more than standard, did she never say a word until i had to go to her in desperation for this? I need to find a primary care doctor in Johnson City, Tn (or somewhere close) who will prescribe my xanax.
