TN-need help to find doctor for xanax

live between knoxville and chattanooga need to find a doctor to prescribe xanax ---thank you for any help ## It can be prescribed by any doctor with a valid medical license, it does not require a specialist. The problem, however, generally arises when you go to a new doctor and start asking for or insisting on certain medications. It raises a lot of red flags for the doctors. Especially since Xanax, which contains Alprazolam is a very potent Benzodiazepine and is highly addictive in nature. Do you have your medical records? Have you had them transferred to a new doctor? ...

very bad panic attacks have had a recent death in the family going through a divorce anxiety depression also have a chronic disease. ## Hello, Renee! How are you? There is no such thing as a Xanax doctor and there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. Technically, it can be prescribed by any licensed medical doctor, however, due to some new regulations that were put in place this year in order to try to cut down on improper prescribing and over prescribing, general practitioners and surgeons have new guidelines to follow regarding what they can prescribe. Thus, in most cases you'll need to see a specialist to be prescribed a medication such as this. Do you currently have PCP that could refer you to someone? ## My name... ...

Anyone going to a good pain doctor in Memphis that is taking new patients. I am on disability and my wife and I both have r.a. The Dr. we have been seeing for over 10 years has cut our pain meds. If we need something stronger he said find a pain management Dr. He now wants to cut out our pain meds all together. Help please this is such a painful and depressing desease. ## I'm sorry that you're having such problems. New regulations have been put in place at the start of the year that are discouraging general practitioners and surgeons from prescribing pain medications for long-term use, due to the risk of improper prescribing and over prescribing, since they haven't been specially trained at managing pain. Did you try asking him for a referral? That often makes it easier to g... ...

In receiving a Schedule two, the mindset now is that you will probably be on them for an extended period of your life. In the past, in order to make patients comfortable, doctors were prescribing medications like OxyContin, Roxicodone, Duragesic Patches, etc. for pain alleviation. If you are having sporadic or afflictions that cannot be measured scientifically, then the chances of getting a CII are limited. Even hydrocodone CIII, is coming under scrutiny. Got on suboxon it works great but my doctor that work it for pain management retired so 7 had to go to a suboxone clinic and they want to keep taking me down in my dose when i am maintaining just fine with pain. ## Hello, Julie! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having. Yes, it is normal for the Suboxone doctor to want to taper you down, after a period of time, because that is what they are supposed to do, since they treat addiction, not pain. It is in the FDA guidelines for such treatment. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and con... ...

Why Have Doctors In Memphis Tn Stopped Writing Pain Meds
2 Replies RSS
why have doctors in memphis tn stopped prescribing pain meds? ## Based on what's been going on lately in the pharmaceutical world, my guess is that most of the rudimentary doctors have become reluctant to "over-prescribe" narcotics, because they fear that they will loose their licenses upon doing so. The same thing appears to be happening in parts of Florida. Does anyone have some extra insight on this? ## You are spot on, this is true in all 50 states, and, intensified with the so-called, "OxyContin Express" Unfortunately, out of state patients, driving from West Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky especially, to Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties in South Fla, about 3 years ago, before, Florida passed legislation, to join the Prescription Monitoring Program. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year by the DEA, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist, so in this case you'll most likely need to see a psychiatrist, a general practitioner won't be able to prescribe them for you.
