I HAVE BEEN ON METFORMIN 500 MG ER SINCE JAN. 15TH. MY LAST BLOOD TEST IN JAN. SHOWED MY GLUCOSE LEVEL WAS BORDERLINE FOR DIABETES SO MY PHYSICIAN PRESCIBED THIS TO SEE IF IT HELPS MY GLUCOSE LEVELS. I REPEATED A B/T LAST WEEK (5 WKS. LATER) TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES IN MY BLOOD LEVEL AND AM AWAITING THE RESULTS FROM MY DOCTOR. BEING VERY CONCERNED ABOUT GETTING THIS DISEASE, I WAS CURIOUS WHETHER THIS MEDICATION CAN HELP WITH MY RECENT WEIGHT LOSS OF CLOSE TO 7 LBS. SINCE STARTING, WHICH IS GREAT AND WONDERED WITH THE BORDERLINE B/T EARLIER, I HAVE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS CUT OUT PRACTICALLY ALL SUGAR (INC. SWEETS AND JUNK FOOD), BUT CERTAIN GROCERY ITEMS I TRY TO BUY WITH LOW MG. OF SUGAR. COULD YOU SHARE WITH ME HOW MANY GMS. OF SUGAR ONE SHOULD CONSUME A DAY, WHO IS WATCHING THEIR ...

Hi. I would like to know the English translation of this diabetes pill from Mexico called Glibenclamida. Thank you. ## Hi Silvia, From what I could gather, the English name for the diabetic drug known as Glibenclamida is listed as "Glibenclamide". According to wikipedia, Glibenclamide was developed in 1966, so this medication seems to have a lot of history behind its use. I hope this helps! Is it available OTC down in Mexico?

I am taking Insulin (Novomox 50:50) and taking Reclide + Lindagliptin 5mg at morning. At noon I am taking Vogilbose combined with Metformin, and at night again Insulin + Reclide. Since last 4 months I have been suffering with allergic pimples in buttocks, groin, joint and head. For that, I have been taking medicines from the dermatologist but the same symptoms are recurring. Unable to find the reasons. Wondering whether these are due to meds or other reasons? Please guide me.

I am 47, weigh 70kg, am type 2 diabetic and have been taking Galvus Met 1000mg for my diabetic condition along with Bilocor 5mg & Co Exforge 5mg/160mg/12.5mg for the past 4 years. However, my blood pressure does not want to come down. My average BP is 180/90. What can be the cause? My medication? ## It is most likely that it is due to the diabetes, and not the medications. They usually go hand in hand, according to NIH reports. Do you watch your diet to make sure that you don't take in a lot of sodium and fat? Ar you on any other medications? How much exercise do you get?

Diabetes mellitus, or simply diabetes, is a group of metabolic diseases in which a person has high blood sugar, either because the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or because cells do not respond to the insulin that is produced.[2] This high blood sugar produces the classical symptoms of polyuria (frequent urination), polydipsia (increased thirst) and polyphagia (increased hunger). There are three main types of diabetes mellitus (DM). Type1 DM results from the body's failure to prod...

are there any small diabetic pills or powders or liquids for people who have difficulty swallowing large pills? ## Not to sway off-topic or anything but if you have type-2 Diabetes, have you ever been aware that it can actually be reversed and cured by changing your diet? There has been scientific evidence for a while now, demonstrating how Diabetes type 2 is caused by an excess of fat in the bloodstream, which then causes unstable blood glucose levels, an over-production of insulin,
and an over-working of the pancreas. The simple approach that is suggested is to eat a very low fat diet that is high in "natural" sugar and moderate amounts of protein. This ideally comes from eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, with the occasional nuts and seeds. I wou...

I am taking PENTASA (mesalamine) 500 mg tablets daily (6 tabs daily) and I also use azoran 5 mg two tabs daily. Will it stop working if I start developing symptoms related to Diabetes. I already had surgery for crohns disease, and had side effect called entero cutaneous fistula. I do feel hungry a lot. But sometimes I feel like palpitating with hunger for few minutes. Is it indicating that i have increased sugar levels. Will being diabetic effect absorption process of intestine and allow disease controlled by azoran to grow.

Hi. My husband has just got home from a 7 day stay in the hospital, where he was diagnosed as having a large blood clot in his shoulder and a smaller one behind his knee. He is an insulin dependant diabetic, VERY overweight (at the moment at least. That one, we are going to work on asap). Tests yesterday revealed the clots have responded very well. He has been placed on an initial dosage of 4mg of sintrom daily, and has been given sintrom in the hospital. The doctors were obviously aware of the insulin (and metformin) medications, also that he has meds for high blood pressure. Reading the advisory with the sintrom, I couldn't find any counter indications to his medication regime. Having checked the internet advice I am now very concerned that he's going to have adverse reactions...

I'm trying to identify a pill that is a polygon & light orange with 4 on one side and SB on the other. ## I have been a diabetic for the last 13 years & started using 500 mg Metformin, then moved to 850mg twice daily along with Glimepiride 1 mg once a day. I swim on & off & have a BMI of 28%. Present fasting is 142 & post lunch 255. I require advice on a change in medication to control levels of 100 & 180 to start with. Should I increase the intake of Glimepiride to 2 mg or increase the Metformin to 1g? ## Can diabetic medication make you diluted when taking a drug panel? ## Regarding the original poster, this tablet is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, and they list it as being a 4mg Avandia tablet, which is most commonly used to treat diabetes. The FDA lists...

I started taking Januvia together with metformin. After a few days i started getting a burning sensation in my arms. After taking januvia for about 20 days I went back to my doctor and she removed the januvia but I still get a burning sensation. Is the januvia still in my system and how long before it goes out? ## Hello, Meg! How are you doing? Do you still have the burning sensation? What are your normal blood sugar levels? The burning sensation could be due to nerve damage, from the diabetes, rather than a medication side effect. ## I'm from Sri Lanka and I want to use "m 21 Diabetes medicine". How can I get it? How much does it cost? Do any pharmacies carry it in Sri Lanka?

My mom just started taking diovan for her hp and she has diabetes.Sence she has started taken it her sugar level has gone up to 200. Is there anyone else who is on diovan and has diabetes? Any input would be great!CArrie ## Diovan should not cause your mother's blood sugars to go up. Diovan works to protect her kidneys from renal failure, a common disorder with diabetes when not in tight control. She should be monitoring her blood sugars four times daily if they are high and be careful of what she is eating. ## Yes my Mother takes Diovan and has diabetes, since she started her pressure is really low(confused on that). she's 90 ## Yes, I called the company & they stated it should not affect my blood sugar, however, it was 200+ for the 2 days I took it. My meds have been chang...

I was prescribed Ozempic for weight loss. 12 hours after taking the first dose, the fatigue and brain fog I’ve struggled with for years was greatly improved. This leaves me wondering if I may have pre-diabetes or even the beginning of Type II. Can anyone advise if having such a positive response to Ozempic could be a sign of this condition? ## I am pre-diabetic. My doctor tried to prescribe me I was Ozempic but insurance wouldn't allow it. I am on Medicaid and as with most things they'd rather wait until there's a problem then be proactive. It sounds like you had good results and so I am encouraged and if I do become diabetic it will be a big help. It's so hard to lose weight with chronic pain. Take care of yourself. Sounds like you are! ## It is possible, but only...

It is very important to keep your blood sugar under control, letting it get out of control can be very dangerous and possibly life-threatening, according to the AMA. Why do you want to stop the insulin? I am not sure what other medications are available for you that would be safe for you to take. Have you discussed it with your doctor?

I do not have high blood pressure. My doctor has me on Losartan 100mg because I have diabetes. I do not have kidney problems. I've been told by many people not to take medicine for prevention. What do you think? ## Hello, Joan! How are you? It is very common for a doctor to prescribe such a mediation to help protect the kidneys from the possible damage that may occur from diabetes. Thus, your doctor most likely hasn't prescribed it to prevent high blood pressure. In this case, it would be best to follow your doctor's instructions. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## He also has me on pravastatin for high cholesterol which I ...
