I've been on oxycontin for a year---for pain. Had a bad accident, almost three dozen fractures. Have been tapering for past couple months, down to 10 mg oxycontin/day plus one or two 5 mg fast-acting oxycodone if withdrawal starts. So I'm on about 15-20 mg total/day. I plan to go cold turkey on Friday. Am I crazy to think that in a week to 10 days I'll be back to "normal." I've heard everything from 1 week to 3 months for withdrawal to go away. I have clonazepam to help with withdrawal pains, and gabapentin (leftovers from when I was in terrible pain). Advice? Home remedies? Experience, strength or hope to share? I'm pretty nervous about this. From what I've read, withdrawal can be hellish. ## Did you get a reply? Several years ago I did a cold turkey fro...

My Eosinophils - Blood is 0.9 units x10E3/uL What does this mean? ## Hello, Dido! How are you? The eosinophils are one of your immune responders among your white blood cells, the ones that combat illnesses, such as infections or parasites. They will be elevated if there is some type of illness going on, such as a bacterial infection, cold virus or flu virus. A normal level would be anywhere from 1 to 6% of your total white blood cell count. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been on 60mg of Cymgen for almost three years. It is been used to treat fibromyalgia. I came off it cold turkey 5 weeks ago with my doctor's consent. It was causing dangerously high levels of blood pressure. Two weeks in my blood pressure is back to the normal range. However it has been 5 weeks of hell wth the withdrawal symptoms and I don't see an end I sight. Every time I see a glimmer of hope I come crashing down again. I went to work for a total of three days in January, and for only a few hours at that! I'm at my wits end. I've tried herbal products o help ease the symptoms as well as Motillium and Mittal for the extreme nausea, nothing works. Is there an end in sight?? ## Hello, Linda! How are you? Have you consulted your doctor, again? Generally, such sym...

I would like to know if the colors on xanax bars mean anything, like strength? I have seen the long bars with four lines to divide them in white, yellow, and green. Any info you can give me would be great, thanks. Also, if it doesn't say XR on the bottle then it shouldn't be an extended release bar no matter what the color is? ## I take the 2mg tablet bars scored x4 w/ what looks like PorR, 0, 3, 9 on each 1/2mg of the total 2mg bar of alprazolam by Purepac. Use for panic attack or break as-need for anxiety. Also take yellow puffy square tablets of alprazolam w/ a 1 on one side and a G for Greenstone on other side, Xanax-XR, for constant support of CNS. I suffered what I call a shutdown when cold-turkey'd off a benzo after being on one or another of them for an extended peri...

I am 19 weeks pregnant. I have been taking 2mg Dilaudid every four hours daily, which would be a total of 12mg in a 24hr period. I have been taking it since 13 weeks pregnant, so a little over 6 weeks. I have been taking it every single day for chronic kidney pain. My doctor decided to transfer my care to a pain management clinic, and my appointment is not until Tuesday, it is currently Saturday. My OB refuses to write me a script to get to through until my appointment, and even though I have been taking them only as directed, they want be to come in and be converted to Methadone. NOT HAPPENING. I will suffer through all the pain in the world before having a child born to Methadone. My OB has refused to wean me down on the medication, so I am currently off it cold turkey. My last dose w...

I am a 40 year old male.I have been taking 36mg of Dilaudid mixed with 120mg of Methadone, every day for 2 and 1/2 years. The sad part of this is that I do it by way of IV.I am scared to death everyday that my sources will dry up and I will be stuck going cold turkey.Based on the doses I mentioned above.Does anyone seem to think I could die from the withdrawals.I was cut off for 3 days a month or so ago and I felt like I was going to die. What a relief when I got them back after that.I have survived 2 different bouts of cold turkey (5 years ago) from large doses of benzos. This was before I had any idea that it is more dangerous than coming off of opioids. It was a total nightmare for 2 weeks solid with no food just small sips of water was all I could ingest.I was on a couch for 14 days stra...

Hello everyone, I was addicted to percocet for about a yr, i have degenerative osteo arthritis, extremely painful, have had a total knee replacement and am due for another, along with 19 operation bandaid fixes (all knee related) I also work full time, take care of a massive home (cleaning daily) and my 3 kids and husband.. Ugh the percocet really allowed me to live again, no pain, full nights sleep. But I knew I was dependant and I had to give it up.. I have such an insane life schedule that I couldn't do cold turkey as I know what withdrawals are like and I can't take time off work... I started suboxone, the doctor has me on 10 mg.. Yes it was a miracle for about the first week, but I'm experiencing some crazy crap... Seriously vivid nightmares that I can fully remember, e...

Hi, I've just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. My levels were t4(1) and tsh (100) dr said they were bad. I have felt like I have been living on another planet to everyone else in my own bubble, no energy can't be bothered with anything. I'm constantly freezing cold. The doctor has put me on levothyroxine (100mg) and I'm just wondering how long it's going to take to start working? So glad I have stumbled across this site because it's hard to explain to people how I feel and now I feel like it's not just me. ## Hi, I know what you mean. I developed symptoms quite a while before I was diagnosed. It felt totally stupid to be freezing cold in the middle of summer, and I felt like I was loosing my mind because my brain seemed to be filled with cotton wool and I ...

On day 4 of cold turkey Dilaudid withdrawals. Severe back pain sufferer. Was on 24mg/day for about 18 mos. Brutal. So tired I can barely move, add to that the back pain with limited muscle support and you start to get the picture. Worse symptoms have been diarrhea, insomnia, headaches, mental strangeness and I'm in too much of a general fog to remember what else. Only reason I've slept at all in the past 3 days is Temazepam. But at best an hour or two at a time. Not a natural narcotics lover. No pain, no drugs. Have Diaz and Temaz for a general insomnia problem anyway. Plus if you don't sleep and have a pain problem you're toast. To be completely honest, my doctor is a total F***ing A****le and a quack. I live in a rural area and there's no choices except this idiot ...

First off ive been using roxies for about 5 years on and off. When its bad its like a $150+ a day habit, ill get "clean"(literally just using enough to keep withdrawls at bay, not enough to get high, like 2 blues a day) for about a month then i go back to using heavy. Recently i went through some s***, decided to seriously put it all down for good, tapered down to one pill a day, then locked myself in my house for a week and went totally cold turkey. Needless to say that was f***ing horrible. Anyway my question is this, i dont feel i have the strength to stay away from the s*** entirely on my own recognizence, so would suboxone be something i should look into? I met with a doctor to discuss costs and treatment, she feels it would help, money is not the issue, i would really like...

Hi everyone, Im hoping to get some insite to who ever is able to give it. I started on Geodon in Septmeber on 2016 and I started that to help with OCD and moodiness. I am 27 years old and I am in pretty good health excpet for the issues I deal with on a daily basis. In November, exactly on Thanksgiving Day I started getting very fatiged. To the point where I couldnt keep my eyes open. I just wanted to lay down. My eyes felt like lead. I then started with loose stool..(sorry, TMI) and then a few weeks later it just got progresivly worse. I started to notice my hands and feet would get extrmely sweating. Almost to the point where my socks were a bit damp. I also started with chills. My lips would qiver like I was cold but I felt totally fine as far as temp. This has been ongoing since Tha...

To make a long story short, I may not be having seizures. Dr. took one EEG and said I had two seizures in 20 minutes! What are seizures? What do they feel like? I have no idea what this doctor is talking about. I have never passed out. I'm a 61 year old female; active and maybe have 1 cold/year. I started taking the depakote this past saturday; 1 in am, the other at pm. It made me so sick, double vision, mean, angry. I do not have biopolar. So the total number of pills since saturday I have taken 2 full days of depakote and only one pill yesterday that made me so sick (5 pills total). I know I have to taper; should I take one more tablet today and stop? Thank you. ## It can vary from person to person, depending on the type of seizure and the severity. To all of you: Besides myself , my mother-law and three friends have Hypothyroidism. My mother n law was so over active, she had it remove. She is on "The MAX." dose of this medicine AND "JUST FINE!" (Never sick) In total myself, her and 3 other people take Lev! NONE OF US have any of the above happen. However, Before I found out, I was hypo, there was the main issues 1) Depressed, 2) Anxiety Attacks, 3) Constipation, 4) No energy. Plus, I "Always needed a nap daily, after work." 5) My hands and feet were always cold and 6) FELT DETACTHED like DP OR DR , more D.R. (Derealization) Lastly I was losing hair, more than normal. A doctor did a T3&T4 (just to make sure it wasn't my thyroid being so low) and it was! I started medicine in 2003, and I stopped Spring 2

I’m in week 4 of a prescribed 5 week treatment on my chest with Efudex . My skin has all the worst symptoms described in blogs. I felt that my skin was too raw to handle the cream twice a day. I have decided to only apply Efudex once a day for the rest of the treatment (12 days). Will this be a problem for my outcome? ## It would be best to speak with your doctor, before making any changes to your usage regimen. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin burning, soreness, hyperpigmentation, photosensitivity, and scarring. Which ones are you experiencing? ## All of them. I had to sleep with a cold pack on the treated skin. Now 1 week after my last application (6 weeks total) Less pain and weeping but possibly weeks away to get back to normal. I have learned ...

I have a long story, I'll try to give some context with the important parts. History before methadone not important I guess. Been on 120mg for first 5 years and the last 5 years with 90mg (always liquid). Had some kind of nervous meltdown a couple of months ago and almost committed suicide. Started cutting myself badly. That urge almost got away now but I just want to feel something again. So a week(ish) ago I started drastically reducing dose, and stopped taking it 4 days ago. I had 2 hours sleep total since then thanks to some sleep medicine. My skin feels like it's burning, but it's a cold burning, all the time. I have this awful feeling in my belly that never goes away. When I lay down to try and sleep my legs hurt so much I only wish all the kicking, voluntary and invol...
