One other have diagnosed me with lung infection after an x-ray while the public hospital I have been following through appointments have diagnosed me with gerd and laryngitis and thus giving me pantoprazole which I have been taking for 3 years and to no curing as well. I need this coughing to stop. Could you help me please? ## I am very sorry about what you're going through, Vaiwinchester. That has to be so very annoying. Have you been tested for allergies? My mom had a change of b/p medication to losartan 100/25 hctz. After 2 weeks of taking it she developed a wet and dry cough with the need of clearing her throat. No sputum would come out. The cough gets worst at night when she is lying down. Can't sleep at night for the past 3 nights due to cough. She also has hoarseness with no throat pain. Has taken expectorant/ dexometropan over the counter medication but did nothing. Do u think it could be b/p medication or another underlying medical peoblem? ## Are you sure that wasn't Lisinopril? I've been taking Losarten prescrbed by my cardiologist for years with no side effects. Then my prephrenologist took me off the losarten and prescribed Lisinopril . I immediately develop a dry cough. Couldn't shake it off. Told my kidney Do...

I've been on Humira for one year with no serious side effects. Six months ago, I was on a series of antibiotics for almost a month for sinusitis and cough related to that. Since then, I have these huge coughing fits that end with me gagging to get control. Although I have never had allergies, this week has hit me with the classic signs of watering eyes, coughing and runny nose. Has anyone had these types of problems on Humira? ## Hello, Gigi! How are you? Those are listed as possible side effects of Humira, according to the FDA. You may also experience insomnia, agitation, wrinkled skin and shallow breathing. Has anyone else that's been on it experienced such side effects?

My husband was put on Eliquis after he was diagnosed as having a-fib. The DR stopped his blood pressure medication and 81mg aspirin. He went through cardio aversion to get his heart back in rhythm...as been in rhythm since Dec. However, he is suffering from the tiredness, shortness of breath, gout attacks, ankle swelling and abdominal swelling that I have been reading about. He also has a very productive cough that has been going on since late December. He has been on numerous antibiotics, cough syrups, allergy pills, and even something for reflux. After reading some of these posts about Eliquis, could it be responsible for his chronic coughing? ## Hello, Ann! How are you and your husband doing? Yes, according to FDA reports it has been known to cause coughing as a side effects. It may ...

Is a dry cough one of the side effects of Diltiazem? I developed a cough on Lisinapril after a couple years, so my Dr. switched me to Diltiazem 180 mg. extended release, about a year ago. I have recently developed a dry cough, and am short of breath, especially when I lie down at night. So I prop myself up with pillows to sleep. I also cough when I try to talk too much. I've tried using my asthma inhaler, but it doesn't help. ## Hello, Grandma of 4! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. However, please consult your doctor as soon as possible. That problem breathing, when you lay down at night that requires you to prop yourself up with pillows could be a sign of congestive heart failure, so your doctor needs to check this out immediately....

I started the Estring after I went into menopause from Chemotherapy. I started to feel a heaviness in my chest, coughing and a lot of mucous along with muscle pain. I contacted my OB and she said she didn't think the symptoms I had were from the Estring. Did anyone else have these symptoms? ## The chest tightness is actually listed by the FDA as being possible allergic reaction, which could also encompass coughing and etc. How long have you been on it? Are you still on any other medications? Has there been any change? Have the symptoms worsened, or improved? ## Shortness of breath is a serious side effect (it looks like SOB from your symptoms. That's an allergic reaction and you should stop (I'm not a doctor, but I've had similar symptoms with other drugs)

I contracted a viral infection and devolped a terrible cough that eventually caused an inability to swallow solid food. After being hospitalized and receceiving every test possilble the medical team could not find anything medically wrong with me. Finally, after my iinsistance that the cause was a result of a side effect of Lisinopril I stopped taking the drug and in about 2 days I was able to eat solid food. Approx, 3 weeks Ilater the cough finally went away. ## Lisinopril can cause a dry cough in some people and it usually lingers, until a few weeks after they stop the medication, but such a side effect hasn't been known to cause trouble swallowing food. Learn more Lisinopril details here. What medication did you replace it with?

I have taken Benicar for years. Dr. tried a different BP medicine and I started a dry cough for weeks......back to Benicar, and cough went away. In December, Dr. switched me to olmesartan, which, as I understand it is generic for Benecar. I've been coughing ever since.........is that even possible? Are the two medicines identical, or is it possible that for me, Olmesartan causes cough but Benicar does not? ## I also recently switched from Benicar to the generic form. Can't stop with the dry cough. After hearing of your experience, I'm calling my cardiologist. This is intolerable! ## It is always possible for your body to suddenly start reacting differently to a medication, and for you to start experiencing new side effects. Can Metoprolol cause coughing as a known side effect? I am advised to use Metoprolol for my blood pressure, but now I am suffering from asthmatic issues. ## Hi, Moideen! How are you? Metoprolol is a beta blocker that's used to treat hypertension and yes, it can cause those types of side effects in some people that take it, though it doesn't happen very often. Unfortunately, once a beta blocker causes those side effects, they don't usually go away and the person generally has to switch to a different medication. Have you consulted your doctor about it, yet?

I took Perindopril for around 5 months until about 6 weeks ago when I began to feel really ill. ( I already have vit D deficiency and I take fultium for this) . I think I started with a cough and high urine output soon after I'd started taking Perendopril. So, after stopping the Perindopril 6 weeks ago I still can't stop the urge to urinate or the coughing. And I cannot pick up from feeling ill and tired with aching bones and muscles (as well as the aching bones and muscles from the vit D). How long does it take to get over Perindopril as, even though I'm 77 years, I was really active and vibrant before the Perindopril. It's lethal. Thanks for listening. ## Hello, Nora! Why would my ENT give this to me for coughing spasms? ## Hello, Janet! How are you? Tramadol can be used to suppress coughing spasms, it tends to suppress the cough reflex. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## no thank you very much. ## Give me a break tramadol is not an narcotic. I've been taking it for 6 years and it does help with pain. ## Thanks for the info. I'm not the least bit concerned that it could be addictive. ## Let me be clear, i have chronic pain and yes they can be habit forming and if you stop immediately you will feel discomfort for a few days but nothing compared to narcotics. ## I've...

After two weeks of taking Chlorthalidone I have a maddening cough, yet my lungs are clear. Anyone else experience this? ## That can be a side effect of most medications used to help control blood pressure, cardiac conditions, or remove excess fluid from the body, according to FDA reports. The problem, however, is that once the cough starts, it doesn't usually go away, so you may need to try a different medication. I experienced it from Lisinopril and had to switch to a different medication. Have you informed your doctor? Are you on any other medications? ## I have been on chlorthalidone for 3 weeks. My cough is driving me nuts. I will stop taking it this weekend and call my cardiologist Monday.
