on my blood test i have anote:Persisten reduction for 3 month in eGFR >/60ml/min/1.73 m2 defines ckd. My is >59ml/min/1.73. What is this mean? ## what does this mean in the blood results persistent reduction for 3 months or more in an eGFR 60 could mean there is protein in the urine, which can possibly signal kidney damage. This means your kidneys are allowing protein to be lost from the body. Only your doctor can really determine if there is a problem, sometimes these results can be caused by medications. Have you asked them about it?

>59 means greater than 59 so I think you're ok. CKD is chronic kidney disease. It seems like as long as your number is over 59 then you should be fine. I got the same result. I'm going to check with my doctor at my next check up but it's nothing to worry about I'm sure. I don't know why they put that note on blood tests, though. It just causes unnecessary worry. My family has diabetes and kidney disease - my grandma died of kidney failure - so it freaked me out enough to do a little research.

My wife was taking Repace 25mg od. She is also suffering from chronic kidney desease (CKD). The doctor has now replaced Repace 25mg. with Irovel 75 mg. OD. Is Irovel a better drug for treating hypertension than Repace for patients suffering from CKD? ## Irovel contains the active ingredient Irbesartan, it is an ARB and these are known to actually help protect the kidneys, so that is likely why her doctor switched her to it. I just started this new drug 5 days ago and will try and let everyone know how I do along the way. I have stage 3 ckd with my number of potassium at 5.5. I had been taking Kiotex and it wasn't solving my problem, so my doctor decided to put me on this. Seeing that I am the first one on this forum bothers me....but hoping others will start to respond and we can track each other's progress with this new drug. ## How are you doing on the Patiromer? This medication is used to treat high blood potassium, since that can be just as dangerous as it being too low. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including constipation, abdominal pain, low blood magnesium, and nausea.

Which is better, met xl 50 (metaprolol succinate) or tellzy 80 (telmisartan)? My father has been suffering from diabetes, hypertension and ckd, and his blood creatinine level is 3.9. Which medicine is suitable for my father? ## Which one has his doctor advised him to take? They are both effective at controlling high blood pressure and some cardiac conditions, but no medication works for everyone that tries it.
