I have been prescribe a medicine osicare ds for my knee pain. I wud like 2 know the composition of this medicine and its side effects also. And as my vitamin -D is on a higher side as per the results.. so does this medicine osicare-ds contains vitamin -D. If yes then which medicine shud I switch it over which dosn't contains vitamin -D. Does anybody take invokana and break the pills? I know they are not time released but i dont know if its safe to break them. I have dysphagia and cant swallow. thanks ## Looking at images of the pill, I'd presume that the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the tablet's composition. So since it's not time-released my personal opinion is that it should be fine to divide it into smaller pieces. My reasoning is that this is what would begin to happen naturally anyways as the tablet is metabolized. Time-released meds are different in that regard, but I have no reason to believe that breaking apart an IR drug in such a manner would cause any issues; other than each piece perhaps not being absorbed at the same due to taking it with food - and in this scenario may affect ...

I've recently been prescribed Xanax for anxiety and I accidently broke one but I still took it. I know it says not to crush or chew tablet but will I be okay ? ## As a rule, any scored pill is safe to break. You would have no problem ## @Teresa, I don't know if your pill has one, but Eddy is right about the score line. One other note worth mentioning is that if it's not an extended-release tablet then you shouldn't have anything to worry about concerning its efficacy or rate of absorption. Our stomach acid would naturally disintegrate the tablet's composition as it is. I believe they just have that warning label concerning the crushing or chewing of a tablet to dissuade potential abuse. Hope this helps!
