I started on this drug about 3 months ago for mild high blood pressure and after about a month and half I noticed I was loosing a lot of my hair when I washed it and then noticed much more in my brush. Then others started noticing hair on my clothes all the time. I've read all I can find about this drug and do not find that to be one of the side effects. Has anyone else heard of this problem with this drug? ## Atenolol is not that of a problem, I had been using that for the last 13 years, so far I did not had any major side effect other than a humming sound in the ear, but Chlortalidone is not known to me yet. is combizar be taken for a long period of time? what are the side effects for using it for about 5 months ## I have been taking combizar 50mg once a day for almost 3yrs now. I am 52 and taking Aten 50. Is it harmful to take Aten 50 after the age of 50. I am also taking Losar H along with Aten 50. Are these two medications the same? - metoprolol succinate er 25 mg and atenolol 50 mg. I need help please. ## my pcp dr wrote this out Atenolol 50mg but my heart dr has me on Metoprolol succ er 25mg now my Question is are these the same medications ## They are not the same, but they are in the same class of medications. I am not a doctor, but if were me, I'd take the one recommended by the cardiologist, simply because they have a lot more training and experience in such matters. I can't tell you what to do, but if you aren't sure, you should consult your cardiologist. I am 71 and have been taking blood pressure tablets for a number of years. I used to be on atenolol 50mg with no problems but about 18 months ago I was changed to amlodopine5mg. I seem to be suffering with a kind of asthma now, could this be related to the change and is there any reason that I couldnt ask my doctor to return me to atenolol ## Peter Iam 57 and have been on atenolol 100mg for 15 yrs and can tell if I'm not taking this I also take benzipril 40 mg. I've been taking 5o mg Atenolol for many years no side effects, now also taking 50 mg Losartan daily. Upon waking in am feel fine, then during day feel lightheaded after rising from seated. I am using Amlogard 5 mg and Tenormin 50 mg - one tab each in the mornings - for my high BP. I would like to know how these two work, i.e. what is the difference between the two, whether it is okay to use both in the mornings when daytime activity will follow or should I use one in the night. I am 49 years old living in India. I am hypertensive for the past 10 years. For the first 6 years I was on Aten 50 mg and Angizaar H for BP control. For the past 4 years I take Tazloc H and Nebicar 5 mg in the morning. Is this combination OK. I exercise regularly (70-80 kms brisk walking every week) and on regulation diet (breakfast of Oats and Fruits, lunch of green veggies and dinner of carbohydrate & veggies). I took 25 mg atenolol around 3 pm. And forgot I did. I took another tablet around 7 pm. I am worried. My doctor told me doesn't seem to be dangerous. I asked how low can by pulse go. He said it depends on how I feel. My pulse is oscillating between 49 and 55. My blood pressure was lower than normal. But now it is ok. It is just my pulse. I am afraid to sleep for fear of my pulse going to low. ## Hello, Maria! How are you? Did it go any lower? Most people do take 50 to 100mgs a day, so that isn't a dangerous dose, unless you'd be allergic to it, or your heart rate would drop too much.
