I am using Bilocor for 6 months now and picked op 10kg. I am positive it is because of the Bilocor. Is there a replacement. I am using Cozaar as well. ## I am taking bilocor for 8 years and I am putting on weight is it caused by the tablets my dosage is 5mgp ## Bilocor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, and yes, it has been known to cause weight gain as a side effect, along with nausea, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. There are other medications you can try, in both this and other medication classes. Have you discussed the problem with your doctor? They are the ones who would be best able to assist you in making a switch.

Earlier this year, I was hospitalized for a stroke. It was actually pretty mild, I sounded like I was drunk and had a slight droop to my right side of my face. From tests done over time, the doctor's are pretty are convinced it was caused from my untreated high blood pressure. I have had HBP for years, and taking meds for it. My RX ran out last Dec. and my PCP would not refill it, until I check with the cardiologist I had seen one time a year earlier. I emailed her, during this time (12/15/16) because it was Christmas time, probably would not be able to see anyone until after the first of the year, AND I was pretty sure my insurance was going to change AGAIN - THANK YOU Obama care! The past few years, it always seems to change, and FINALLY, by the end of March, you get your new card...

My md said to either stop losartin or captripril no explanation just said I needed to stop one so I said losartin I have been on captrapril since I was 35 150 mg was put on losartin (cozaar) in96 after bypass surgery now my body is going up what should I do my dosage for losartin is100 mg Earline ## There is no harm in asking them why they told you to stop one. It is most likely because either your blood pressure, or heart rate is too low, perhaps both. The typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. And yes, there will be a period where your blood pressure and heart rate go up, after stopping the Losartan, but it shouldn't be a serious/dangerous raise, since you are still taking the other one. How are you doing, now? ...

Please help me identify a white round pill with the just the number "12" on the front and nothing on the back. The "12" is on one side of a pill break indented line. I was told it's a 50 mg Cozaar with potassium for high blood pressure but I cannot find any match at all on Google. Thanks. ## Hello, Lori! How are you? Who told you that's what it was? I've just searched through 15 pages of tablet images and found no Cozaar/Losartan Potassium tablets with just a 12 on them. Additionally, I'm not find a listing for any tablet matching this description in the U.S. prescription drug databases. The FDA classifies this medication as being an ARB that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Typical side effects may possib...

How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you've experienced. Generally, edema can be a side effect risk from all cardiac and blood pressure medications. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination. You just kind of have to try various ones, until you find which ones work for you, without causing such unwanted side effects. Did your doctor recommend anything else? ## Morning my Dr persccripe again prexim because of changing meds. But what im sitting know is lips feel slollen and pins and needles every day. F...

anyone else taking 50 mg cozaar and 50 mg atenolol and feeling lightheaded and dizzy when standing up from sitting position ## These medications have been known to cause orthostatic hypotension in some people that take them, as a side effect. Other possible side effects may include nausea, headache, dizziness, increased urination and hypotension. How long have you been taking them? Most side effects are transient and will improve after about 4 to 6 weeks, once your body gets used to the medications. Have you informed your doctor? It would be best to have this symptom checked out, to be safe.

I started on Cozzar at the end of April 2012 since my ins would not pay for Benicar. I was told by the doctor yesterday July 12, 2012 after my anual A1C for diabetes that I now have kidney disease. Prior to taking Cozzar there were no issues after blood tests regarding my kidneys and high creatinine levels. Could the Cozzar possibly have created these high levels???? ## What type of kidney disease is your doctor referring to? Just one test with odd kidney levels would not diagnose kidney disease, it actually takes 3 of them being low, for 3 months in a row to diagnose kidney disease or kidney failure. And yes, the Losartan in Cozaar can cause decreased kidney function, but it is usually reversible, just by stopping it and switching to a different medication. Learn more Losartan details ...

I started Cozaar 2 months ago and am having excessive thirst, muscle aches, burning and tingling in my body. Has any one else experienced this. Please help!! ## It could be that this just isn't the right medication for you to take and you may need to try something else. After suffering CHF, it took quite awhile, before we found ones that I could take that didn't make me miserable with side effects. It's really just a matter of trial and error. Have you consulted your doctor about the problem? ## Thank you so much for your reply. I have spoke with my doc and we are going to try something else.

I have been taking branded COZAAR for several years. Recently, my GP switched me over to generic version of Losartan Potassium. The side effects I am experiencing is unbearable. Where or who should I write to restore my medication to the Branded one? ## If it is your doctor that is writing the prescription for the generic, then that is who you will have to speak to and ask them to write it for the brand, instead. There is a place on the prescription where he can right or check off the phrase 'brand medically necessary.' and then that is what the pharmacy has to dispense. There can be some variations from the name brand to the generic, since the FDA does allow a difference, in the active ingredient, of up to plus or minus 20%, which they consider an acceptable therapeutic window....

I want to know what some small, light-blue, diamond-shaped tablets, with marking 4 / 6 on one side and E on the other. Thanks. ## I have hypertension. Could the tablet be Cozaar or Losartan?? ## What you are describing does in fact sound like Losartan 50 mg, manufactured by Aurobindo. To me, the tablet looks a little greenish, but it does have E on one side, and 46 on the other. You can see an image here. I hope this helps! ## Thank you very much, Roy. Guarina
