My 5 year old son has 102/103 fever since yesterday night. I am giving him cal pol syrup every 5 hourly. He is complaining of severe headache aswell and is feeling very weak and drowsy... Pls let me know if I should start any antibiotic for him and if yes which one n how many times a day.... ## MY 15 MONTH-OLD KID GOT A FEVER. PLEASE SUGGEST ANY MEDICINE OTHER THAN PARACETAMOL FOR RELIEF. ## I have had a viral fever for the past 4 days with a headache and my doctor is treating it with Paracetamol as my blood reports are fine. However, I now have a severe headache that is not going away. Do I need to take antibiotics? If yes, what tablets?

It's Azithromycin. It usually is a 5 day Rx prescription. Results from it last 4-10 days after prescription is over. I was given it for chronic headaches. If your doctor prescribes you GGD6 for headaches, I would ask for something else. It hasn't worked for me and I'm still getting headaches daily. ## Azithromycin is an antibiotic that's used to treat bacterial infections, it is not something prescribe for headaches. Are you certain that is the medication you're thinking of? Is the ggd6 supposed to be the marking on something or the name of something?

I have been prescribed this (amox tr-k clv) for an outbreak of boils....I had the same outbreak 3 yrs ago and the doc said (without testing) that it could be MRSA. (My son actually did have MRSA at the same time this was going on). Will this stuff work if in fact it is MRSA? ## Hello, Scott! How are you? I understand you are in pain, but all antibiotics can take a few days to begin beating the infection. The general rule is that if it is working, you should not see any worsening after taking it for a full 24 hours, and you should start to see improvement after taking it for a full 72 hours. If not, then you should return to your doctor. Taking more than prescribed will not change this. I took 3-day 500 mg Azithromycin for Acne rosacea. The total dose should be 3 day 500 mg and then skip 5 days and then take 3-day 500 mg until 4 weeks of period. but I have skin rash and itching. My doctor prescribed doxycyclin 150 mg per day. I thought Azithromycin was safer than Doxy and less sunsensitive. Should I continue Azithro or start taking Doxy and quit Azithro after three days. ## You should follow your doctor's instructions, if you are itching from the Azithromycin, that could be due to an allergic reaction and they tend to get worse, with repeated expose to the offending medication. If so, then yes, it may alter the efficacy of it and thus, could result in breakthrough bleeding.
