Hi, I am from bihar. My mouth has a lump inside that started 20 days ago and is growing. So I am going to a medical store and taking amoxi-clav 625 for 3 days but it has not had any effect on that lump. So i want to know about that. Pls reply fast. May i take it for a UTI? It expired 2014. ## Unless a specific bacteria is detected that can be treated by this medication, it is not usually the preferred on to treat a UTI. The one normally used most often is Nitrofurantoin, so it would be best to see your doctor and let them prescribe an appropriate antibiotic. There are some medications that are made for canines, which aren't manufactured to human standards, so it may not be safe for you to take, additionally, if you don't have enough to finish a full course of treatment, it creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. And while an antibiotic can help with the infection, it will not fix the underlying cause of the infection, such as a deep dental cary, so it will just keep returning, until you see your dentist and have it corrected. My dentist is out of town until Monday and the pain is pretty bad - I see what appears to be an abscess. Can this med be used in the mean time? I took one dose, 1 1/2 hrs later, vomiting, diaherra, sweating alot. Ended up in ER with dehydration, and hypothermia, temp @ 93 degrees. I'm guessing the sweating gave my hypothermia, since it's mid summer. Doc tried saying it was probably stomach flu. I got sick taking this med before, just not to this extreme. Apparently if my temp dropped more, I could of been in real trouble. ## Sorry about what you've been through, that's very rough. And I have to say that I am really not surprised. Though it isn't common, some people do react this way to some antibiotics.
