I was on 80 OC for 3 years. Never abused them, never gave them away, never told anyone I had them. They worked well at relieving the excruciating pain I suffer.
I received on 1/24 the new 80 OP and it does nothing for the pain I suffer. I have not ate in 2 days, sleep only a couple hours and can can barely move due to excruciating back pain. I am going to have to go to a hospital. I am alone and can barely move. I have this bottle of OP which if I could move I would take back to walgreens. I cannot believe this is happening. When I go to the hospital they will think I am full of it. This is very very bad.

I too have been switched over to Opana ER 40mg 2 in the am and 2 in the pm to replace the Oxycontin OP 4-80mgs per day that I have been on for years. I have had all of the negative effects as most of you had with the new Oxycontin op formula minus the rash's :) I have been on the opanas for 10 days now. I will not sit here and lie and say that I had no side effects switching over. Well I did how ever have some for the first 5-7 days. I felt as if I was going though very mild withdraws and was informed of this by my physician to expect this. I have been taking the opanas now for 10 days and I feel great. It was just a matter of time to get the oxy's out of my system and the new Opana's in. They work a hell of alot better than the OP's did and that is the truth. They are not as good for pain as the old oxy formula OC's But I can live with it and I feel SO much better now. I see so many complaining about the new formulated OP's. Why would anyone experiencing these complications/side effects continue to take this poison they have out. I would seriously recommend the change if you are having these horrific symptoms that so many say they are experiencing. Just beware that it will take about a week to ten days before you feel better. But it was no different feeling wise than what I was experiencing with that crap they put in these OP pills. It is up to us the real Chronic Pain Patients and cancer patients ect. We the patients need to get the point across to purdue pharma that we dont need this poison anymore that is making so many people so sick. We are not forced in anyways to feel the negative effects from there new concoction of the Oxycontin "OP". So switch over and talk it over with your physicians and Insurance company's and your pharmacist. Most will have to have everything pre approved and some pharmacy's will even have to special order the Opanas. So if you do choose to switch over, Give yourself a week to ten days advance befor you switch over that way your meds will be there and your not out of your meds. The Opanas are cheaper than the Poisonous Op's are anyways. We all have to start somewhere and if the Opanas dont work for some. Keep trying a different pain med that fits your pain or needs or the problems you have. You all dont have to keep feeling these awful side effects from this new formulated OP.Take control and make a step or change. There is NO reason to continue to feel like crap. Good Luck to you all and I mean that.

I switched to opana.. perdue can shove it..
I was a little worried but since the new oxy formulation was doing nothing but making me itch worse and the pain levels increase I bit the bullet and switched... You might give it a try...

In replay to JoJo , The old oc's are back and been confirmed. They are not left of oc,s from the old ones. My father has talked to he's Doctor and straight from the pharmacy, he has been getting the op,s than like i said the new script he got was the old oc,s. And these are the pills he is getting from now on, and i have been on the patches, and perks for breakthrough pain my slef, from a rare bone deiase , i just went and seen my pain management Doctor and have been switched to oxy,s when i asked the doctor if they where going to be the ops . Because i told her i did not want them because of all the stuff i been hearing and that people with catheter bags , that the pills where going right through people into there bag's and they where not getting and pain reilf what so ever. Any way she told me the same thing i was told before about generic forum. So i went and filled the script and they where the old oc,s. I know many others that have been switched to the old ones again here in Buffalo well ny, from the hospitably where i have to go for different treatment such as transfusions. I have no reason to lie, and if it was just old pills that they were trying to get rid off, i don't see why so many people i know that had problems with the op,s are getting these new but old oc,s again, and to why would my Doctor lie to me,I hope all of u people that really need it for pain that have diseases or just chorinc pain and have to have these just to get out of bed or do something simple like go get milk . I hope u get your oc,s back so u can at lease have some sort of a life.

In reply to Rick in Buffialo,ur wrong about the genric being back. It's just that the pharmacy still has some genric in stock. It is a fact that the genric form of oxy80mg is no longer going to be manufactored any more. The other company's u spoke of that make them were getting them from Purdue. It's only a matter of time before ur local pharmacy runs out of the genric. I have cronic pain issues, serious pain. I don't want to bore anyone with the detail's of my health problem's. But I have never abused my meds. I just got my script. refilled on the 12/19/11 and for the first time recieved the OPs. One week into the script the first change I noticed was my pain level has gone up. The second change is my stomach is very bloated and sore. I am so saddened by the change in the formulation, and that the new OPs don't work like the genric did. I called my pharmisist and he explained that they r out of the generic and no longer will they get any more. End of story. So all us honest pain sufferes will have to find something eles to help us with our pain. All this talk about lawering up to suie Perdue isn't going to help us now. So I say let's take care of our self's and move on. there r other meds. out there to help us. It just will never be the old Oxy80mgs. I will not waste what time I have left here on this planet being angry because I can't get what I want. Just move on. God bless all the honest pain suffering people, just keep the faith. Peace Out

THEY ARE NOT BACK IN OHIO YET. THEY MAY BE IN NEW YORK BUT NOT HERE. I CALLED EVERY ONE AGAIN AND THEY ARE STILL SAYING THEY ARE NOT BACK AND WILL NOT BE BACK. I HOPE THEY ARE HAPPY THEY HAVE CAUSED PEOPLE ALL THIS NON-SENSE DO TO THE ABUSERS, I HAVE NEVER ABUSED ANY THING IN MY LIFE BUT NOW I HAVE TO SUFFER FOR THEM WHICH THEY WILL JUST FIND SOME ELSE TO ABUSE. IT'S JUST A SHAME.

you are not alone ! I have called every one ! I think every one but the junkies should get a attorney and file suite over bad drug. I dont know if that would be a good idea, or do it one on one, this has effected me the same. I use to play with my grandchildren (for a little while) now ALL I do is sit in a chair and I have alot of chronic medical conditions. this is crazy. this all happened to keep people not to abuse them. ARE THEY NUT'S, THEY WILL JUST FIND SOME THING THAT IS PROUBLAY EVEN CHEAPER. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I AM GOING TO DO EITHER.

The old Oc's are back they are the generic now, I live in Buffalo ny, and they are all over the place again. My father not even 2 weeks ago got his script and his incur only covers generic brand and he filled them and bam the old OC's back again. He ask the drugist about it, and i quess some other comp are making them generic now don't know the whole story, but all i know he gets them and i know. they are all over the street once again. Which is why this whole OP mess start because people that don't need them abuse them, or people that got them from there doc's than sold them, ruined it for the people who truly need them. Just make sure next time u get ur script to make sure u ask for the generic brand.

I read one man's response, he is suing on his own, but I THINK if we all get together and bring suite against the company we would stand a better chance. I may be wrong, but I am on board with ANYONE that may be able to fix this problem. what do you think? I am just guessing. I don't know which would work better. as I said the junkies are just going to find some thing else to abuse while the rest of us that take the med's the way we are suppose to are the one's suffering and bad.

1 week ago my wife was released from the hospital after 10 days in ICU and surgery to repair a lung bleeb this bleep was caused by her presistant coughing and vomiting after taking the OP type of medication. After the new prescription sher went to doctor with complaints or coughing and vomiting he said there was no relationship to the medciation and continued her treatment and week later she was admited to ER with colapsed lung and they needed to insert chest tube. There was no prior problems before the OP medication was used and now they ( doctors) do blame the problem she experenced.. however.. they say when ever you take a medication or have a procedure there are complications to sometimes be expected..I have a $103,000.00 Hospital bill and i haven't got the doctors bill yet...the lung specialists do relate the OP pill problems she had with her coughing and vomiting and said she shoulkd have stopped the medication, but she didn't know at the time that was the reason so how could she stop? She did go to doctors with her problem it wasn't until after she went into hospital that the relationship to the OP tablets was made. There is no suit here....no interest in getting tied up in court for the next 10 years and going broke so a lawyer can pay his mortgage while mine goes unpaid.

Hello Margaret.. I to am having the same issues as everyone else on this forum including yourself...I have a Doctors appointment next Wed. and I am going to go back to the Opana ER 40mg 2 every 12 hours for a total of 4-40mgs per day. I was on these when they first came out but I personally found the Oxycontin 80s to work better for me. The opana does work well for pain but they made me very tired and felt a little out of it...However they did work great for the pain. I would take these feeling over the way the new Oxy OP's make me feel any day. It is a start and they may or may not be for you...I have to try something new because I just cant go on with the way I am feeling.. Good luck and all the best to you Margaret :)

Well I to am having the same issues as most on this forum with the vomiting, sever head aches, nausea all the time and I get very little relief from the new OP's. It is like taking 1 vicodine when I take 2 80mgs. I am also a CP suffer from a sever auto accident with neck and spinal problems. I have had two spine operations and I have been on Oxycontin 2x80mgs 2x's per day for 7-8 years now and never wanted to try them due to the bad name that they had. I finally gave in to my pain Doctor and tried them...I will honestly say that they truly did work wonders for the pain I am in. These OP DO NOT even come close to being as strong as the original formula and I dont care what anyone says...I know my body. I have been waking up in the middle of the night in pain and and withdraw like symptoms I never had prior to switching over to the OPs. I called my Dr on Friday to reschedule my 3 month appointment to next week. He is aware of the problems and has told me that several other OC patients are having the same problems as I myself am having. He knows my whole family and he knows me as a person as well and knows that I DO NOT abuse my prescription. My insurance pay $1800.00 a month for my script. How can they keep paying that kind money for me and they are NOT doing what they originally did for pain. My only option here is to try and find another drug that will compare to what the old formula did for the pain. I and not a smoker or a IV user or snorter; I am just a man that suffers from chronic pain. I wish they would go back to the old formula but then again I cant do anything but try different pain killers until I find another that works as well.. I wish the best to the rest of you out there. Thanks :)

People can get as pissed as they want at Purdue. Do you really think they get a chit? They know exactly why their product made them so much money! Just like they know this will no longer be their cash cow. The call is over their heads. The FDA and govt in general, MADE them do it because it by far causes more problems than it helps! The gov might have opened Pandora's box of heroin with this decision because junkies are gonna get their fix somewhere. I am sure a new drug will come along eventually to supplant OC, but until then, patients and junkies alike must simply cope or use Coca Cola apparently ;)
