Oxycodone Watson 932 Change

Updated

My pharmacist said Watson changed their name. Is this true?

From what I've seen mentioned, they've been purchased by another pharmaceutical manufacturer, they didn't actually change their name, so to speak. I've not seen any official confirmations of this, though.

Learn more Percocet details here.

The tablet in question contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, which is a generic for Percocet. It is a narcotic pain reliever that has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, constipation and dry mouth.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi Verwon,
Actavis has taken over Watson. This has been something that has been in the works since 2012 from what I have read from the Watson pharmaceuticals website, which turned out to be Actavis when I put a search in google for it. I also came across an article today online from "Generic and Biosimilars Initiative" dated March 5, 2013, titled, "Actavis makes agreement for generic abuse-deterrent oxycodone" that should explain why everyone who was originally using the Watson generic oxycodone is now having so many problems with the Actavis generic oxycodone not working and/or making them very ill. Myself included. If you could pass this info and/or article onto other threads where bloggers are posting questions regarding these medications, Im sure it would be really appreciated since it would give people confirmation why they having the problems they are experiencing, would make them realize its not in their head or crazy(Ive seen many wonder if they were...lol), and it would also help them when approaching their doctors about finding alternative medications to help with their pain management. Also, if you come across any positive information where someone has posted who still carries Watson generic oxycodone or another medication that previous Watson users have found successful, please pass the information my way! Thanks so much!

talked with my doctor and was willing to make script for name brand. walgreens doesn't carry and wont special order. went to multiple other pharmacies. no luck. either they say they don't have it without looking it up or they say I have to sign a document transferring all my scripts to them or they wont fill. getting so frustrated. feeling so foggy and old pains are coming back. getting pretty depressed over the whole situation. husband is not supportive. just wants me to deal with it and get better. will keep trying though. glad to know I'm not the only one out there. Thelma....I called around to many walgreens....some will n some wont tell u over the phone...I have my scripts filled w them so I tell them they can look up my info so they know im not some junky lookin to stick up the place. I dont know where u get urs filled at but u might have tto go in person to see what manufacturer if generic Percocet they carry. Tell them u have found certain manufacturers make u ill so before u drop a script off u need to make sure they dont fill those with those manufacturers. The endocet I take is made by the company who makes brand Percocet. From what I have read, they have the same active n inactive ingredients but dont limit urself to just trying those...like I said, many sware bt the mallinkrodt generic Percocet. Ur just gonna have to try n see what works for you since our bodies all react differently to meds. Keep in mind ur body will take time to adjust to a new med. U will go through withdrawals from not using Watson's at first so it will make it hard to tell if a new med is working. U just have to go thru it n stick w the new med for the 30 days till ur able to get refilled. By then u should feel if the new med works. I don't know where u live..small town or big but many have been successful finding endocet at safeway or little mom n pop pharmacies. I got lucky finding it at Walgreens cause I found a pharmacist who use to work in the pharmacy at the walgreens I use . He was familiar w me n cool as s*** compared...he had endocet when I first went looking for em. Then the following month everyone told me they didn't have em...he was off that day so I waited till the next. Next day I called him..he didnt have em to fill for me but knew another location that did m called them to verify. I went to the other store n gave em my script...told them endocet only. They told me they didn't have em...I told the lady another store just called u n u said u did...she said she had to check....DUH....she came back n said she had them. Its all a game to them so u need to go in person n ask them to please check before they shut u down w a no. Ur gonna b on a mission but be firm when u ask for the manufacturer they carry n be prepared to go through Watson withdrawals. By the way...tell ur husband next time hes sick or not feeling well to get over it.... hes on his own. Some people ignorantly dont get it.....look through the threads here...theres one I think its titled , watson is now Actavis 5/325, many of us have been updating on that thread for months so theres a lot of info good to read. Good luck!

went to doc yesterday. actavis med just not working for me and so many side effects. called in the am and they got me right in. changed my med to hydrocodone 10/325. pharmacy said it was not as strong as generic Percocet. will start them today. what surprised me was I had to bring in my old meds to her before she would write a new script. I realise they aren't much good to me but I did pay $180.00 for them. I'd rather dispose of them myself than give them back to doc. didn't notice till I got home but manufacturer is Watson. this concerns me. did I just get the last little bit on the shelf and next script will be actavis? called pharmacy and they couldn't answer the question. on one hand hope I feel better but for how long. this just leads to more anxiety. they only gave me a 10 day supply so at least the cost was minimal. thanks for letting me vent. think I'll call actavis later and ask them(if I can reach someone) if there will be a change. Thelma
