Re: Jimmy (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

All 30mg ir oxy's are the same other then the fillers the manufacturer uses. Can one company make one a bit stronger, possibly if theres less filler but for the most part all oxy 30s will do the job. Now if you have a very high tolerance from using them daily plus using other opioids/opiates then you will probably need to adjust dosage to get the same feeling/ high as when you started which most of the seasoned users will already know. Be safe & careful.

Re: Tuskin (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

Yeah man you’re 1000% INCORRECT. The A51s hit hard just like the V’s and M’s. So yeah sorry to say but wherever you got that information is totally inaccurate.

They also can vary from each manufacturer. You can get an oxycodone 30 mg and it could have less than 12% of the actual pain-killing ingredient. That's why they don't work as well. You buy 1 oxy and it has a full 30% of active ingredient then the next one could be 18-20% so there's a huge difference in manufacturers. I'd recommend k9 and a215 first for full potency. M box are definitely on the lower side. Of course they cant go over the 30 mg but the fda allows them to be close to 12% percent under.

A new painkiller that combines oxycodone and naloxone was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday. Naloxone was included in the drug to block the euphoric effects of oxycodone, making it less appealing to abuse.

The drug, Targiniq ER, is made by Purdue Pharma, who also makes OxyContin, the Los Angeles Times reports. Targiniq ER can be misused, but if the pills are tampered with, the naloxone becomes active.

Targiniq ER can still be abused, including when taken orally (by mouth), which is currently the most common way oxycodone is abused,” according to a statement by the FDA. Targiniq is expected to “deter, but not totally prevent” abuse, the FDA said.

“The FDA is committed to combating the misuse and abuse of all opioids,” Sharon Hertz, Deputy Director of the FDA’s Division of Anesthesia, Analgesia and Addiction Products, said in the statement. “The development of opioids that are harder to abuse is needed in order to help address the public health crisis of prescription drug abuse in the U.S.”

Dr. Andrew Kolodny, President of Physicians for Responsible Opioid Prescribing, told the newspaper he is concerned that doctors who believe Targiniq is safe may be more likely to prescribe it than to look for alternatives. “If we really want to turn this epidemic around, the most important thing is to stop creating new cases of addiction,” he said. “Coming up with new gimmicks isn’t going to help.”

Lynn Webster, a pain and addiction specialist and former president of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, said that while abuse-deterrent drugs such as Targiniq are not a good substitute for judicious prescribing, “the obvious alternative is not to have abuse-deterrent formulations, and I don’t know anyone who would find that preferable.”

I agree the a215 is better. Works best and great if your trying to cut back on dosage

It's the same....FOR YOU. Everyone is not the same. I don't know where you people come from who think that your experience is indicative of all of society. I not only am a medical professional but I have real world experience as a patient myself and have known the experiences of countless number of patients. Just understand that although human bodies are primarily the same in structure, they all function differently and have varied reactions to all stimuli. Be sensitive to others. You wouldn't say that because you don't have environmental allergies, that person who walks outside and has terrible hay fever or pollen allergies that they don't exist because that is not the experience that you have had going outside. Or would you???

"PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The FDA has approved an oxycodone pill designed to deter abuse.

The oxycodone pill contains Naloxone, which is used to reverse the effects of an overdose.

Dr. Daniel Hussar, Professor of Pharmacy at the University of the Sciences says the pill attacks pain when swallowed as prescribed, but if the user abuses it, the Naloxone will take effect.

“When it gets into the system at the same time as the oxycodone, it will block the effect of the oxycodone, and those abusing the product will not derive the same high that they otherwise might,” he said.

The new formula will only be available in the longer lasting medication often taken by cancer patients."

Come on people you can go to the manufacture website and get this list of ingredients there is in fact no opiate blocker in the a 51 pills. Please do your research people don't take someone else's word as fact unless they are citing a legitimate source!

No, he is right! I have taken all four brands of Oxygen 30's and Anneal is much weaker & does have a blocker. I know my body.

It's still a opiate very similar feeling but I can tell the difference. I've been taking this medication for about 5 years now and it's the first time I got the A15 and to be honest it feels stronger for me and I've tried many different ones from different manufactures and always said it's the same s*** but this one for some reason either works better for me or is stronger and I've been taking half the pill all this time and ever since the A15 half of it felt like a full one for me. I don't know if you guys agree but let me know if anyone else agrees with me or felt the same way. I guess the slight differences in the ingredients actually matters a lot. It does have the same effect but the feeling it gives is also different.

The A 51, Amneal brand, is the first of the new breed of IR oxycodone tabs that have an "abuse blocker" in it. I can confirm this personally. I've tried it. They don't give you the normal opiate "feelings. There is some debate as to what the blocker is, so I won't attempt to cover that, but BY EXPERIENCE, they are not the same as the A 215, or V 4812, etc. I have tried both the A51 (blue) and the A48 (pink), 30mg and 10mg. No slow down feeling, only a slight stomach ache. Don't waste your money and ask your pharmacist ahead of filling your script, what manufacturer they are using. Steer clean of Amneal. This is the way of the future. They did this years ago to Talwin, which was great early on, but became useless because of the "antagonist" they put in it....Don't waste your money on the Amneal brand----A51, etc. Taking them orally works like normal. That's it!

Hi Michael,

The A 215 Oxycodone 30mg tablet is made by Actavis, and contains the following set of inactive ingredients:
corn starch + FD & C Blue No. 2 + FD & C Blue No. 2 Aluminium Lake + lactose monohydrate + microcrystalline cellulose + silicon dioxide + stearic acid + glycolate

The A 51 Oxycodone 30mg tablet is made by Amneal, and contains the following set of inactive ingredients:
corn starch + lactose monohydrate + microcrystalline cellulose + sodium starch glycolate + stearic acid + D & C Yellow No. 10 + FD & C Blue No. 2.

As you can see here, there aren't any major differences other than a few subtle changes in the list of binders/fillers. However, to my understanding, even a slight difference in inactive ingredients could cause one tablet to work better or worse than the other, depending on how your body responds to or metabolizes these different substances.

I hope this helps answer your question!
