Need Doctor A Real Doctor In Kentucky That Knows.

I lived in Alabama and was recieveing oxy -40 3 times a day , built home in ky , now and cannot get them , I have chronic pain and my quality of life has taken a big hit, can no longer do a lot , but the doctor will not give them , because of all the pill poppers , I am 60 . this is wrong !!!!!!! they worked great , a good slow release medicine

Hello, Jim! How are you doing? Sorry that you're so miserable.

The first issue is that unless you have a severely debilitating condition, such as cancer, which can cause intractable pain, then no doctor would be able to prescribe you 3 of them per day, now. The new regulations have placed a kibosh on such practices and limited the prescribing practices for treating pain to only the maximum recommended daily dose. So, if you were taking the time released Oxycontin, then that would be a maximum of 2 a day, because they are meant to be taken every 12 hours.

Another issue is one you might be causing yourself, if you're contacting new doctors and asking up front if they'll prescribe it. Doctors are taught to see that as drug seeking behavior and they either won't even let you in the door, or they will just tell you no at your first appointment.

What you have to do is set up an appointment with a new doctor and then let your medical records speak for themselves.

Can you post back with your nearest major city? That would make it easier for people to make recommendations.

I do not have Cancer, tho i do have intractable pain. My doctor still prescribes 40 mg 3x day for me, and i’ve not heard any news that contradicts that treatment.
