Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 7)

Updated

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

Friends-
I took Lyrica for TWO DAYS- 75 mg/BID
My husband had to stay home and babysit me- had hallucinations; tried to take a knife to him and to myself. Took high-dose Valium to stop the reaction. Never have been the same- in 2 years- God help us all- esp. all of you who have taken it longer than I have done. I will work with you ALL to get attention paid to this. What can I do?????

Nicole,

I'm taking my last dose of hydrocodone this morning, and can't get it refilled for 10 days. It's terrifying how quickly my tolerance has gone up. I won't resort to buying it on the street, and wouldn't know where to find it anyway! LOL!

I am trying an herb called corydalis, which was recommended by Vanessa, who used it to almost totally quit pain meds in a week. Wish me luck. It's so frightening and humiliating to feel like an addict when, all of my life, I've been against drug abuse.

Your story is horrifying, but I think you have a lot of spirit and determination, which we'll all need a huge supply of to get through this.

By all means join the Lyrica Survivors on Facebook and if any of you ever want to talk, let me know there, and we can IM.

Best to all,
Miranda/Vicki

Miranda: I wish you the best. The key for me was keeping the corydalis in my system and not letting the pain get out of control. I still hurt, but nothing like i did before.

Please keep me updated.

I talked to Fabiola at Crumley/Roberts this morning. She was very nice. She also asked me if they could pass my name and number on to other attorneys if they weren't able to help me. I said YES of course. She said they would contact me within 10 days.

Connie:
I heard back from Crumley Roberts right after I put in my contact to them the other day. They told me also that it would probably take ten days to get back to me after the lawyers review my info.

Nicole:
I recently contacted Crumley Roberts Law Firm and thought that maybe if a lot of us contacted them at the same time they would do something. You can join us in contacting them at http://www.crumleyroberts.com/north-carolina-drug-injury-lawyer.php

Vanessa,

Thanks so much for your support and guidance. I'm a little confused about the form and dose. The corydalis extract I have is a yellow powder which I had to put into capsules myself. The herbalist I spoke to on the phone suggested that I take 200 mg. I have a scale that will accurately measure mg. Does this sound right to you?

Miranda...So do you take this corydalis for the Fibro pain? If so is it expensive and yes I would like te web site to where you get the capusules. Also I know that some natural remedies also can have side effects. Have you had any at all from this/ Thanks

Vanessa,

Thanks. That pretty much confirms what the herbalist said, that 200 mg is a good starting point but she herself will take up to 600 mg at a time.

Connie,

I guess the idea for me is to control the pain so I can get off of the narcotics.

I got a 100 gram bottle of loose powder for $21 from Om Chi Herbs in Oregon. They have a website. It's kind of a pain to fill the capsules yourself.

The herbalist I talked to is Victoria at Radiance Herbs and Massage in Olympia WA. They have corydalis in both caps and tabs, I think, and I believe they ship. Anyway, they're very nice to deal with.

I can't tell you anything about my own experience because I haven't started taking it yet -- will start today. The research that I've done turned up no definitive information about side effects. One source said there's a risk of liver toxicity and another source disagreed. And besides, if there is that risk, I wonder how it compares to the known risk of toxicity to the liver and other organs from the NSAIDs in the hydrocodone I've been taking for several months. I also found no real evidence of a risk of addiction to corydalis, although I would not consider my research to be exhaustive. I figure, what the heck, I'm already addicted to this really bad drug (hydrocodone) anyway, what do I have to lose?

Hope this answers your questions.

Miranda/Vicki
