Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 68)

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

Hi nick, I've just spent the day reading this entire thread and have noted many posts of yours detailing the problems your son has been dealing with. Firstly, my utmost sympathy goes out to him. I am experiencing similar issues with withdrawal seven months after I went off cold turkey. Massive anxiety issues (with no prior history) and awful depression. I am self employed as an accountant but have been rendered useless for the last three months. I, too, am in Australia and have struggled to find anyone to take me seriously. Have you had any luck with finding medical people who are listening and have ideas on what to do??

Hi Steve , i have rung Slater and Gordon a number of years ago and they were not interested , his pain doctor at the time denied it was the Lyrica , his GP denied it was the Lyrica , a friend who is part of the Victorian pharmacy Guild said it was not the Lyrica but i know 100% that it was , my Son actually thrived and did his best work under stress ,he had no anxiety issues he could miss a lot of school but cram the night before and achieve an A score or better in any subject including Maths Methods , i personally witnessed the almost instant transformation during and after his time on Lyrica , the change was dramatic and undeniable like switching a light off , the worst aspect is that the severe anxiety disorder is extremely drug and treatment resistant because it is not a natural disorder , this is drug damage caused by Lyrica and it is very debilitating, my son has not had a dose of Lyrica for over 5 years and is hardly better , he will be 23 in April and is still at home frying to study on line at his own pace , he tries so hard but struggles and often wishes he was dead . .

Statute of limitations is 3 years, unless they find evidence of a cover up...that the company knew and did nothing to warn patients. Then no limit. And WE KNOW there has been a cover up.

I think it took my ability to walk well. Just wanted to say there ARE others that are damaged from this toxic, synthetic crap that the Drs don't even know what will happen!

I was on lyrics for 1.5 months
My entire body was swollen 4 plus pitting edema sob palpitations my heart was literally felt like it was coming through my chest (pressure) I had numbness and tingling of my hands arms and fingers Lyrics was the only New medicine I was taking so I made a conscious decision to stop taking it. It has bed 5 months and I am depressed more anxious and suspicious of everyone. After 5 months == legs swell when I stand up I was rd now with PVD I still have all of the symptoms just less

I know this is years later, but I just found this thread. I've been taking Lyrica for 5 years following a car accident that required 5 surgeries and 12lbs of metal/titanium on my body. The Dr said it would stop any nerve pain caused by all the metal. In the last 2 years I have lost 3 teeth, and have had countless cavities and 4 for canals. Now they tell me I need dentures or implants which are unbelievably expensive. I picked up a new script today, and the price had gone up for the 3rd time in 5 years, so I googled it to see if a generic would be coming out any time soon. That's when I discovered this thread. I'm in shock by all of this! I haven't had any of the suicidal thoughts mentioned, but now I'm sure this is the cause of my teeth issues. I'm going to start looking for alternative medications for Lyrica, and check into attorneys around here. I would love the manufacturer to have to pay my dental bills.

Good luck finding one. I think they are afraid of these big pharmaceutical companies. The only person I can think of that might help, especially if he can find all the Lyrica threads in this site, is the Attorney General of each state or the Attorney General in Washington DC. The only problem is a lot of us are past the statute of limitations unless the government can change It.

I was afraid of that. I'm not sure even the Attorney General would want to touch this one. Phyzer is one of the biggest! I had never even thought there might be a connection between Lyrica and my dental issues. Now I'm pretty sure of it. I see my doctor next week, and I'm definitely going to discuss this with him. Tooth decay and losing teeth is not mentioned at all under side effects in the information provided with the script. Dr's should be warning patients about this, or better yet don't prescribe it at all.

I was only on it for a month. I lost the strength in my legs. Still having issues and it's been almost two years! Not planning on them coming back and have to use wheel chairs and scooters for distances. The b**** is I use to downhill ski!

Hi victim , another side effect my Son had while on lyrica was that his hair was falling out by the handful and he was only 17 years of age at the time , thankfully this stopped when the Lyica was stopped but Lyrica also triggered a very severe anxiety disorder that he still has more than five years after stopping Lyrica ....

I have been off Lyrica for years now. My memory is still greatly affected. My eyesight has stopped degenerating and the anxiety attachs have greatly diminished. I have not been able to lose the 30 pounds that I gained. I still have jerking occasionally. There are many other side effects that just keep holding on. I wish everyone the best who has side effects from this awful drug.

I couldn't think, I was hallucinating, thought my stomach was gonna shift, I was passing out blood pressure shot up to 204 over 148 heart was racing 127 that stuff messed me up with panic attacks.

I took Lyrica for yrs. still have water balloons belowy ankles. Just found out that I have substantial degeneration of my spine with stenosis in c spine and l spine. Don't understand howy entire spine could be so messed up. Off the Lyrica now. Anyone else have spine problems now. I have fibro. No injuries

I believe it foesbcsusr bone degeneration. Soon after I got off of Lyrica my hip and spine began to hurt. Well, to make a long story short, I ended up with a right hip replacement , a laminectomy in my C5 vertebrae ( cervical, the neck part of your spine for those of you who don't knock the medical terms for things) and I still have problems. I developed osteo- arthritis. ( hip replacement), degenitive joint disease ( hip replacement. Laminectomy, steroid shots in my spine and now my teeth are rotting away. These I believe are the long term effects and so are swelling in legs and weight gain which many of you have suffered. The effects are damaging when the on Lyrica which, some disappear after being off it. Some of these affecting the brain,mental problems; forgetfulness, unable to form a sentence because you can't remember the word. Some go and ay as soon as you stop taking the drug. Others take longer or don't improve at all. Even with brain games to make new neural pathways, which Lyrica destroyed while releaving the pain people had, it is a constant upward struggle. I personally believe that Lyrica makes you appear like you are drunk or have Alzheimer's disease because of the way you walk and talk.

md , Lyricas worst side effect is impairing cognitive function , making people stupid who were once brilliant ,my son first took Lyrica when he was a very bright 17 year old on and off for about 6 months and still suffers from memory problem at the age of 23 Lyrica has destroyed his life and lively hood , he has a lot of difficulty retaining new knowledge and canott cope with this fact knowing what he had before taking this vile neurotoxin Lyrica..
