Looking For Seattle Pain Doctor Who Prescribes Oxycodone
UpdatedPLEASE HELP (ANYONE WHO KNOWS A GOOD PAIN DOCTOR ANYWHERE NEAR SEATTLE OR EVEN IF ONE WHO MIGHT BE A FEW HOURS DRIVE AWAY)...this is my story; I am a GENUINE chronic pain patient who takes my medicine 100% for the right reasons:
I currently live in Los Angeles. I moved here from Arkansas last year to find a better rheumatologist. Now my husband and I are moving again to Seattle. He got a job, and I have no choice but to leave behind the great rheumatologist and pain management doctors that I have found here.
I am 32 years old, and a couple of years ago I began to get unbelievably bad headaches and backaches. No one knew what was wrong. My back showed spinal spurs and a small amount of scoliosis, but that was it. Then over months it all began. My hands, feet, knees, wrists, fingers, elbows, ankles, spine all began to swell like grapefruits. I became bedridden and writhing in agonizing pain. The doctors in Arkansas took one blood test in the beginning and since it was negative for autoimmune factors, they basically gave up. They started me on steroids, fibromyalgia medicines, tramadol and about 20 other things. Eventually they tried opiates.
Nothing worked except the latter. The swelling didn't (hasn't) stopped. Even with the medicine, we knew we had to find out what was wrong because the symptoms kept getting worse and worse. So my husband searched for a job in a bigger city and we ended up here. I immediately went to a rheumatologist who took my blood and found that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, Chronic Inflammatory Arthritis, probable Systemic Lupus (still waiting for that factor in blood tests but my lesions and malar rash, as well as my family history, lead my rheumatologist and the rheumatologist a at UCLA -- where I did a two-month long study -- to believe I will test positive for it in the future).
I get IV steroids, but also since nothing else was helps I take Oxycodone 30mg 6x a day and OxyContin 40mg 3x a day.
Now we are moving to Seattle, and I don't know what to do. I've called several pain clinics, but I don't know who will keep my on this regimen. I'm now able to walk my dog, clean the dishes, go on dates and many other things I couldn't do before. I still cannot climb stairs and during flare-ups I am back in bed and have to be in a wheelchair.
I am desperate to find a good pain management doctor in Seattle that will keep me on my regimen.
Can someone please help? I can't afford to fly back here every month for my pain doctor, and that is my only other option.
