If you had meant me...please don't call me Sir, I worked. *winks*....and I am a female...*giggles*...it was a joke in the Marine Corps (and I believe in all services), that when someone called an enlisted person "Sir" (the designation given to an officer), we jokingly said "Don't call me "Sir", I work for a living!".

And of course, if you were telling that to someone else, I will turn the appropriate color of bright red, and apologize furiously.

But I will take that, in the name of me, that "other" person, and for all people who have served our country, living and dead...Some gave more time than others...some gave their lives...but we all did it for love of our country! So when you say that...I truly appreciate it! *smiles*

I've been living in Lansing for 3 months been to both hospitals. Had bad ex. Seen 6 docs plus en docs. Not one would give me pain pills. I have bone grinding on bone plus fibromyalgia. I was flat out told no buy advil l or Tylenol over the counter. What happened to the hypocritical oath? Somethings got to be done. Maybe a legal suit. Dr.s are driving people to the streets. Are the docs so intimated by the government and the possibility of loosing their license. Last time I got any pain pills in Kalamazoo (lived there for 30 years) the doc had the pharmacist call me and wanted me to come in for a pill count. I was out of town and didn't get the message as a result he put "NO controlled substance to be given. Patient refused pill count." My whole life I'm 55 I have never heard of this now I'm really having problems. Will have to get an attorney to have that removed then I'll be known as a trouble maker. This is all so wrong. Any advice or information would be much appreciated. I've never abused drugs.

BL-Yes patch has come up however insurance not cover so is $5000 hospital for test of patch to see it would work then pump over $2000 then meds in it varies but prob $1000/month- now I am fixed low income so no chance. Plus horror stories of infection like meningitis? Am also wheelchair with broken arms not allow me to reach certain ways so I would fear a pump may need adjusting or ? which I couldn't reach. With all these regulations it may be only chance for some relief however idk just how could swing costs. I am so desparate right now just to find a FL dr. to see me & treat me. I have seen about 10 drs. now but all offered was this pump & remainder not write scripts due to license loss fear. (Dr. actually stated that then others came up with other excuses but know that really reason). We are in horrid state if in pain.
PLEASE if anyone has dr. no longer afraid help me???

Need a dr in hickory nc to prescribe some kind of narcotic to my husband. He's got a old shoulder injury that has set up arthritis as well as a old broken ankle injury with the same and a nervous condition that needs to be treated. His regular dr he has saw for yrs lost his license for misconduct and now my husband is suffering for it. Please help

I am in need if a doctor in Montgomery co, MD. Who listens, & prescribes low dose oxycodone. I have advanced degeritive disc in upper & lower back, arthritis in hands, feet, neck etc. Constant extreme pain in legs, I have had all injections. I have been off of pain meds for almost a year but I am useless. Can't handle it any more. I a a 70's child & get judged constantly as a drug seeker. Am totally willing to do urines & pill counts. Just on a doctor who really cares. nobody seems to understand pain. doctor who works in his own office I would prefer but whatever someone could help me I'll be forever grateful. God bless u!

Is there a doctor in Atlanta Georgia that will prescribe oxycontin for severe back pain? I do have x-rays, MRI's and proof of my back issues but I'm new to the area.

I have been suffering for about four years now due to an injury at the L3-L4 disc. It is basically gone...bone on bone. last year a 19 year old T-Boned my wife and I. We both suffered injuries. Me broken breast plate and the C3 and C7 disc are pushing spinal cords. I do not want surgery after much conversation with other patients who advise against surgery and the surgeon, who promises no guarantees. I have been through months of physical therapy with no results. Agony all the time isn't how I expected my life would turn out. I would rather be treated with pain Meds. I have had at least ten spinal inj's. at the L3/4 and the neck with no positive results. The doctors think Im some kind of addict but that's far from true. I would just prefer to be on meds than take a risk that could put me in a wheel chair. Are there doctors who treat patients with respect, prescribe something stronger than prescription Ibuprophen 800 mg, monitor the pain medications and keep me from the constant fire burning through my back, arm and leg? I would really like to begin living again instead of existing. Desperate in Oklahoma.

It depends on what you're taking and the dosage. It also depends on what you're doing to try and manage you pain that is not medication, like seeing a pain psychologist.

Chris BL'S post 2419 has a link to a link to the National Pain Strategy. It is a proposal on how pain should be determined and treated. Good read, check it out. Hope it goes thru, would benefit those of us who are legitimate patients.

Hello to all. Just read the article from AARP on Tramadol being reported for its large numbers of adverse reactions. its the #1 drug for adverse reactions being reported in emergency rooms.

I inquired about Tramadol and my doctor refused to prescribe it, or help me wean down, in any way!
I got off of (3) narcotics, over time, and am down to a third of the dose & frequency, of oxycodone. (20 mgs BID from 40mg TID)
My recent CT scan, from a 4 level cervical titanium fusion, is worsening.
Except C-1, every other cervical disc, has neural forminal narrowing, spurring and C-7-T-1 has subluxation. The pressure is TERRIBLE!
The spasm feel like I am being choked. I can barely speak or breathe at times.
I can barely hold my head up for long, and I do not see myself able to go any lower.
I am not going to apologize for what life threw at me. (drunk driver)
I should be allowed to have some kind of "normal" in my titanium body.
I also have 4 bulging lumbar discs and my S-I joint I am told,'needs a fusion.
I should not have to be made to feel bad, for taking (1) narcotic medication, twice a day.
The CT.medical mj program has a CBD spray for spasms, but the price is astronomical. $70.00 twice a month for ONE MED?
I do not know how people in the program (Connecticut) can afford the prices!

Ah the tramadol , generic & ultram pills. I see this post from Karen. I say hello to u.& all the others I've met on here. Haven't been on in a bit. Oh yes the fun with that (cure all ) drug! Sure just hand these drugs out like candy & use us by the numbers... Then wow what a surprise !! I'm finally glad to see that more is being written & read about this tramadol. Worse drug ever.oh it wasn't a narcotic then that had to change g I wonder Y. I still suffer from the effects & maybe always will sad to say, just like so many others. I was posting a lot about this & how bad it is, worse is you say you feel sick no one listens. So you stop taking it & of course end up going to the ER.nerves are a mess your brain hurts along with your body! You said you couldn't sleep, still felt pain, horrible fits back & forth emotions , then these body jolts or zaps,no one listening.i hope & pray the best for all in any kind of pain. My thoughts are always with you.as my L4 L5 grind & the even the lower areas are worse now.i struggle with pain & nerve twitches plus feeling weak & dizzy. Wish oh wish someone would have listened. Thank doctors for that, of course that's y we go & want the help. Trust is gone...The revolving door policy is in or pass the patient !! My best.

Hey NJ and Karen from columbus, I havent been on in a while but you guys are always in my thoughts. Hope all is as good as can be. Im on break from my volunteer services for the summer so maybe ill be on more. Im in Dallas Tx and wow how about all the rain, its crazy!!!!!! 6" here last night, I think we are going to float away.
