I have HIP and I went to one dr. for about six months and it paid for my subs...he tried to keep lowering me so I switched to another dr. and he started me at the begining again and my insurance is still paying for it. you have to also go to counceling because when the ask for a PA the dr has to submit notes for you counceling sessions..and it wont work with just dr. notes from the dr prescribing them. Idk whats going on with anyone else and their HIP...im just telling all you whats up with me.... got it?? :)

Catherine R, I would almost guarantee it's because your doctor is not providing all of the necessary documentation to your insurance company. I've been on both ends. I worked in the Anthem pre-certification department and, of course, I have to get them now, that I'm the patient. Even if you've gotten them for ten years, your doctor can still provide documentation, stating that you need them to have a normal lifestyle. (just an example)... Only things I can think of, in regards to them denying someone indefinitely, is if they're red flagged for "doctor shopping", if the doctor is not providing proof of you getting counseling, and possibly for dirty drug panels. One other thing is if you have a health condition, that can be worsened by subs. Or if you take another med that cannot be combined with Suboxone. If none of these apply, then you need to call the insurance company and ask for the prior authorization department (for prescriptions, not procedures) and they can tell you exactly why you're not getting approved. Then you can go to your doctor and have them get the right stuff submitted. Good luck! Don't accept the denial. You might have to work a bit yourself, but it should pay off for you, in the end. Have a great weekend?

I see Dr deal also and he was fantastic at first! But I was prescribed a narcotic from a different doctor and NEVER took the med bc I knew I couldn't, however, my dad picked my script up for me bc the pharmacy left a message that it was ready... I trashed it when I found out because sobriety is more important to me. Dr deal found out the script was filled and gave me a few days to bring it to him.... I couldn't do that bc I flushed them.... they weren't in my body EVER but I still got dismissed!!! How is this an act of caring about your patient's sobriety? There are basically no other doctors that except insurance so now what that I can't afford to pay $300 a month to be seen by someone else? #bulls***

Hi there, I'm actually an old patient of masimores also. Cannot agree with u more!! He was over loaded with patients!!! Sometimes nowhere to sit in the waiting room where yes, u would wait no less than 4hrs, EVER!!! THEN when u got into the room with him he was as rude as humanly possible!!! Which was intimidating to me, and not to mention VERY UNCOMFORTABLE!!! None of us in this position deserve to feel that way when we're seeking help, first of all!! Second of all, doing EVERYTHING RIGHT, and are serious about recovery... And he just makes u feel like s***!! And yes, keeps his back turned to u while going through your file or whatever. Then!!! The hoops he requires u to jump through!!! I have no issue with individual counseling, but i have SEVERE SOCIAL ANXIETY and he was pushing and pushing narcotics anonymous meetings so many times a week on me!!! I have no vehicle!!! I could go on and on about how HORRIBLE he was!!! I had to stop seeing him cuz the DREAD i felt going to him!! I know someone that still goes there. Now masimore calls patients in for "random" counts on your meds in addition to all the other bs!!! I live far from his office! Different side of town with no vehicle!!! I don't think u could PAY ME to go back to him!!!

Thanks for the info. I found out it's because the HIP provider MHS wants me to go to "therapy". Which makes NO sense because that's going to cost them more than just paying for the subs? I've NEVER tested bad on a drug panel and have been an exemplary patient. I do have health issues but none that would interfere with the meds.

No cause your doctor doesn't accept hip it will come back at the pharmacy that the doctor is not approved.

Yes if you are having MHS or HIP pay for your medicine then they require everyone to go to therapy... and it's SO MUCH EASIER to just pay cash and avoid all that mess! I use my HIP for everything BUT my subutex dr (which he won't accept it for visits anyways) but I don't even have him do the prior authorization anymore cause it's just too much to deal with.

I went to Dr. Deal also and had the worse experience of my life!!! I was on Ativan from my family doctor, and Deal wanted me to stop taking it, so after having to argue with him for a while, I said I would stop taking it. I didn't take it for 17 days, and was miserable, my anxiety was through the roof!! So, they (doc office) done a drug panel, and of course there was no Ativan in my system, and my subutex level was exactly where it should be.......yet, they called me a liar and said the results were questionable!!! WTF? The receptionist had the nerve to tell me that the medication should still be in my system because benzos linger in the system for a long time. First of all, that is true for some people, but we all metabolize meds differently in our bodies. I am a Nurse, and a Phebotoist, so i have my fair share of training in the lab. This woman had NO CLUE what she was talking about. I decided I was done with this ridiculous mess with this doc, and I left. He talked to me like I was low class, and he put me on 5 different medications! that made me feel crazy!! He is the worst doctor I have ever been to in my life!! This just happened this past July 2016, and he was not taking HIP or medicaid at that time.

Hello everyone. I know this should probably be on a new thread but I've bee following this thread for a long time. I have been on suboxone for almost a year through 2 diff Docs. I am on the same dose I've been on the whole time. I recently found out I'm pregnant and I'm scared. Me and my hub never thought this would happen. In 25 years he's never been able to have kids. I'm just wondering what anyone's experience is being pregnant/having a baby while on suboxone? I've done my research and read about NAS. Babies needing to be detoxed from suboxone. My hub doesn't want me to have the baby while on suboxone. He wants me to quit or have an abortion. I am not sure what to do. I don't believe in abortions but don't want to have a baby go through me taking sub's while pregnant. I heard it's not safe to be on or quit suboxone while pregnant because of the risk of miscarriage. What do you think my Dr may do for me? He's not a quack that just passes out meds. I was told by someone they may refer me to a specialist and put me on subutex not containing the naloxone. Any options? Please don't make rude comments. Thanks.

Dr. Joseph in Evansville In accepts all Medicaids in Indiana. When I say accepts, that means the insurance, HIP, Hoosier Healthwise, etc...All will cover the cost of the prescriptions and the drug tests when you see him. His treatment program is $300 a month out of pocket. This includes doctor visits, counseling session, and staff support in terms of dealing with insurance companies prior authorization processes and pharmacy requests. His clinic is called Boyett Treatment Center.

I had my son while on subutex 8 mg a day. I had no problem from the Meds but they did keep an eye on him. He was also born jaundice but had no withdrawal symptoms. He's 3 know and no problem from taking that while pregnant but I was super scared he would but now he's smart as a whip and healthy as can be. Good luck and you know your body better than any doctor so trust how you feel about it sweetie. They also did tell me that if I was to quit taking that medicine why already being pregnant that I possibly could miscarriage two. Just make sure you follow how you feel and keep in contact with your doctors so they know exactly what you're taking and can keep an eye on you and the baby

The Dr will switch you to subutex. That is what pregnant women take. They even have a program directly at women's hospitals. U don't have to risk your pregnancy.
