Sorry for your troubles, I do believe honesty is your best bet, they Hafta know you have the suboxone in your system after prescribed. They also Hafta be sure you don't have anything in your system that could be a fatal mix if they do prescribe suboxone. I know it's hard, it's hard on me. I promise if you just tell the truth keep looking you will find a good one! Just use your own urine if it's not to their liking talk to the doctor, don't forget they are there to help you. You are not alone.

I Hafta to giggle at this! Sounds like something my old friend would say! But however it is nice to talk to others , get their opinion on doctors aswell as a feeling that we are not alone in this! I do agree some post can make it look like we are doc shopping! Lol...some of us do just need direction. I wish there were more treatment centers, I fear most give up and go back to their old ways! Not good for anyone.

If you're just taking the percs I would not use suboxone to get off of them personally! The detox off suboxone is much harder than the detox off the percs! If you read some of the forums on medschat you will see people upset they were put on suboxone to come off pain killers. I'm not sure how you should handle it! I'd see how others did it. Suboxone is very strong medicine. I do wish u the best!

BamBam have you heard of any places besides Mimms who isn't taking new patients now, that take Indiana HIP? I'm near Kokomo/Peru not having any luck at all. Talked to Lucina in Carmel but it's cash only and it's expensive. Thanks.

Try API in Greencastle. They take hip. But you have to go at least two times for a U/A before they will prescribe any medication and you must have a Counselor that you see monthly.

I feel your pain with that I'm actually still going to the one in Greencastle and he is tried to tell me several times that I have several different drugs in my system that I know for a fact are not in my system and I am using my own pee. I just wish I could find a Doctor Who really actually cares about their patients and dissed doesn't want to be bothered by somebody who actually needs help. They just want patients to come in and P in a cup get their meds and leave

I appreciate everyone on here...I tried Dr. Mimms office In Indianapolis and she said he is not accepting new patients. I am willing to make the drive to wherever if anyone knows about the other offices. I'm on MHS HIP. Is the other Dr. in the office just as good?, anyone know? Thanks alot. Been on Suboxone for a year and a half....takes care of pain and detox, lost job a few weeks ago and I just cant afford the cash prices for it all right now...dr. and scripts around $750....I just cant do it. Thanks for any replies.

DodsRD. I'm sorry I don't know of any at this time. I am familiar with the Kokomo, Peru area but I haven't lived there in years! I'm by Muncie. I will keep my ears open if I do hear I'd be happy to help! Best wishes

It seems like it's getting harder and harder to find a Suboxone doc and I'm having to drive crazy distances to be seen. I finally found a clinic near Indy that just opened up so luckily was still accepting new patients. I used treatmentmatch.org to find this clinic and I highly recommend that anyone looking for a Sub doc use this website which is completely anonymous and connects you directly with clinics in your area. I also recommend the website suboxone-directory.com or samhsa.gov/treatment-physician-locator as alternative websites to find a doc although I find that these are often outdated and half the physicians listed either aren't accepting new patients or no longer prescribing. Good luck!

Does hip still cover your subs even if the dr doesn't accept it for payment? Meaning you can pay cash for the appointment then use HIP to cover the meds?

I believe so, I do know that they used to. Dr. Segal in broad ripple does that, you pay him and he helps you get the preauthorization to cover the meds. So I do believe any doctor can. I suppose you should ask because some doctors don't like dealing with its. I know they will. I have done it before.

Absolutely yes. My son has to pay for doctor appointment but pays zero for his meds. He has HIP PLUS INSURANCE

Same thing for me, 14 drug panels, one day they said I was positive for marijuana (I don't smoke); next day, no marijuana but instead benzo and 3 different opiates. DO NOT GO HERE AND NO MATTER YOUR PREVIOUS USE THEY ONLY PRESCRIBE ONE FILM A DAY (HALF MORNING / HALF EVE.) AND DURING MY WITHDRAW THE WOMEN NURSE COULDN'T GET AN IV IN SO SHE SUGGESTED MAYBE MY HEAD. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!!

I have HIP but it will NOT pay for Sub. It did for the first couple months then they denied paying it wanting a Prior Authorization and no matter how many my DR sent they still denied it.
