How much helps how long does it take to work please help I take 200 serQuel and 2 mg risperdL ## Hi, Theresa! I'm sorry that you're having this problem. Have you consulted your doctor? These medications can be very dangerous if used improperly, or if you take too much, so it's not safe to try to adjust your dosage on your own. If you are suffering from racing thoughts and the medications aren't helping, then consult your doctor for a dosage adjustment or try a different medication. Learn more Seroquel details here. I am prescribed it for sleep and racing obsessive thoughts started 25 going to 50 should it help me ## Hi, Theresa! How are you? How long have you been taking it? It usually takes medications like this about 4 to 6 weeks to reach their full level of effectiveness in your body. That's usually about the same time you notice any side effects you're experiencing reach their peak in intensity and then start to taper off in severity. Learn more Seroquel details here. However, the only way to know if it will help you is by trying it for that time period to find out. Not all medications work for everyone that takes them. ## Since I posted that dose has been raised to 200 at night and she added risperdal 1 mg in the day and 2 Mgs at night I'm terrified to take this combo my dose of p...

I take seroquel to help me sleep and imitrex for migraine. My knees have swollen and are painful. A couple of years ago I was on Celexa and imitrex. The same knee swelling developed and progressed to multi-system shut down. I wonder if anyone else experienced a serious adverse effect from the interaction of tryptans and psychopharmacology combination? ## Hi, Turtle! Sorry about the problem that you're having. I've done some searching, but not finding anything on this type of interaction, however, there is really no way of knowing how anyone is going to react to any given medication combination. Did your doctor have any idea why it happened to you? Did they definitely relate it to the medications? Though it isn't a common side effect, the Seroquel can cause edema in some peop...

I am trying to find the identity of a yellow coated pill with Q impressed on one side and 100 impressed on the other side. Was told seroquil but can not find a match. ## HI, Dawn! I'm sorry, but I haven't been able to find a match for this, either. The Seroquel tablet with this marking has them both on the same side, it's manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals and is listed in their detailed product pages. Where did you find it? I'll keep searching and post back when I find something.

What are the side effects of Seroquel? ## I was put on 25mg. of seroquel 7 months ago for trouble sleeping. While taking even this low dose I started having severe back and legs pain. Spent all kinds of money during 6 months going to massage therapist and chiropractor as I was so tight with horrible pain, plus I had no appetite, was extremely fatigued, I have been having horrible headaches everynite so I decided I needed to get off this crap. The Phsychicatrist that gave it to me said to cut 1/4 tablet for 2 to 4 weeks which would help with withdrawals. Well its been 17 days of cutting1/4 tablet less and I am still suffering from nausea, headaches, sleep problems, no energy whatsoever, and above all cannot eat, no appetite at all.I have read that the 1/4 tablet the doctor tole me to cut...

i am currently taking serequel for at least 2 yrs now and can feel the difference when i do not have it, found out it isnt a controlled substance nor is it usually tested for and was wanting to know if they consider this a addictive drug or not ## Hi Christle, Based on my research, Seroquel "technically" doesn't have addictive properties but that really depends on who is taking it. Some people can become psychologically addicted to the benefits that it offers, for example: decreased anxiety, better sleeping, etc. Therefore, if you were to stop taking it, you may feel "withdrawal" ie: increased anxiety, etc... due to lack of the drug. Always taper off Seroquel when discontinuing to avoid these symptoms. I hope this helps!

In 2009, I went to have a "simple elective procedure." I ended up almost dying. I was diagnosed with Malignant Hyperthermia. Is it safe to take Seroquel? They wanted me to go to UCLA for further testing, I was told that it involved quite a bit of pain. I chose not to go through with it. Not sure what I should avoid. Any suggestions? ## Hi Stephanie, Based on my research, some people have actually reported that Seroquel may cause Malignant Hyperthermia. I did read about someone's son losing their life due to what I just mentioned. Apparently, Seroquel can effect the Hypothermus Gland, causing the body to reach core temps. of 110 degrees. I would definitely speak with your doctor before starting this medication. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Seroquel Deta...

SLEEP ## Could you be looking for the drug Seroquel ? ## That is also my best guess. There are many instances where the spelling or understanding of a drug name is based on what someone has heard and it can vary greatly depending on how it was pronounced by the person they heard it from. ….not to mention the inherent ability of pharmacologists to make many spellings and pronunciations as confusing and odd as possible. :-) You can learn more Seroquel details here. Seroquel is actually an atypical antipsychotic that's most commonly used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, but since it can cause drowsiness as a side effect, it can help with insomnia, especially in cases where other medications have been unsuccessful. Other side effects may include nausea, sed...

theraquil side effects ## I think this poster may have been referring to the prescription medication Seroquel, which contains the active ingredient Quetiapine. It is an atypical antipsychotic that's used to treat conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. This class of medications do tend to cause some side effects that can be problematic, such as sedation, severe drowsiness and weight gain. There are more Seroquel details available here. Although, I will admit when I'm wrong, so if anyone does know of one under the name Theraquil, I'd greatly appreciate your posting and directing me to information on it. Are there any questions or comments?

U name the drug iv been on it. At 53 im more suicidal than ever. Money does buy happiness. Will explain more later ## Sorry to hear about your suicidal intentions cherrub53. I used to have similar thoughts while I was in a severely depressed state of mind and in no way did I think I'd ever get out of it; but as time passed, so did my situation along with the negative way I used to look at it. Life is all about growing and learning from each experience to the next. Bad experiences can all change once you begin to look at your situation from another perspective. Obviously it is easier said than done for most people, but if you keep an open mind and see yourself in a different situation by slowly making changes to your current way of life, I'm sure you will notice a more positive s...

Hi I have Bipolar 1 disorder and have been on Seroquel for about 7 yrs. Over this time I have gained 80 pds. The weight gain has caused severe high blood pressure. I am also concerned about diabetes. It seems impossible to lose weight while on it. I am very worried about my physical health along with being ashamed of my appearance. My PDOC says I need it to stay stable. what is stable if it kills you first. I need advice on tapering off currently I take 200 to 300 mg daily. ## What other medications have you tried for your bipolar? I understand what you are going through, it doesn't seem worth it to treat one condition, only to have the treatment cause other conditions. Learn more Seroquel details here. Generally, these medications require a very slow taper, because if you do it too...

what does this drug do? why is it normally prescribed? Are we all guinea pigs for it? ## Hi Ann, Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be Seroquel XR (150 mg); which is an atypical antipsychotic used in the management of schizophrenia, bipolar I mania, bipolar II depression, bipolar I depression, and used off-label for a variety of other purposes, including insomnia and anxiety disorders. Learn More: Seroquel Details I'm not quite sure what you're getting at as far as being a guinea pig for it, but I suppose if you're not open to natural alternatives, you'd be more subjected to taking something along these lines for any type of psychotic condition. Hope this helps!
