I tested positive for Cocaine. I take 200mg of Seroquell. I have taken Tylenol pm and Nyquil for my flu. I was wondering can this give me a false reading? I am trying to get my daughter back and they are telling me that I tested positive for drugs when I don't even drink. Please help me. Maybe between the food I have been eating and the over the counter drugs with my prescription could cause this. ## Samantha, Is there any way you can produce proof that you have a prescription for Seroquel? Certain drugs definitely cause false positives. About the over the counter meds you took, I don't think those would be an issue for drug tests. I wish you the best, and hope that this situation can be resolved for you! James ## Question: my doc presc'd seroquel to help with my anxiety. Ho...

My Mum is diagnosed Parkinsons Dimentia or Lewy Body Dementia. She has been prescribed and has been taking low dose Seroquel (25mg) which dose has been dropped to 12.5mg approx 6 weeks ago. The drugs Mum is on aren't working for her (she is very sensitive to Benzo lines and other drugs) and I'm discussing with her Doctor the feasibility of switching to cholinesterase inhibitor drugs instead. Rivastignmine (Exelon) is one of those drugs but I note it does moderately interact with Seroquel. As Mum is incredibly sensitive to drugs and their effects, I'd rather Mum be completely off Seroquel before commencing something such as Rivastignmine. What period of time would be a safe duration to suggest that the Seroquel would no longer be in her system? ## Approximately 36 hours, but ...

found the same pill in a medical ride found out it is 25 mg sequel/generic! ## Hi mzmarsha, From what I could gather, it seems that you are reading the imprint upside down. The correct imprint is actually listed as "93 8161". But to answer your question, yes, it is a generic version of Seroquel, containing 25mgs of Quetiapine fumarate. This medication is an atypical antipsychotic indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, as well as depressive disorders. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Quetiapine Details Hope this helps!

I am taking Seroquel for a depressive episode that began almost three months ago, gradually increasing the dosage until I have now been at 150 mg. Seroquel xr for the past 24 days. Throughout this time I have suffered severe hangovers from the Seroquel (drowsiness, severe headache, lack of energy). My psychiatrist tells me that these side effects will lessen or disappear as I build up my tolerance to the drug, but now I've gone 24 days without increasing the dosage and the side effects continue. I am taking solely Seroquel xr (not ir) and try to take it as early in the evening as possible, usually anytime from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Do these side effects disappear eventually at the 150 mg. dosage or should I begin tapering off this drug? I also heard that the side effects disappear ...

Please help me get of these medication it was given to me by a doctor, I believe they gave me three Ciplerex, Seroquel, Seroquel XR. At the time, they found me I was clearly Out of my Mind. Once I passed their examination they gave me a bed and these medications to calm me down so I could get on my way. I believe I stayed in the hospital for about one week, full discharge was given. I don't want to mess with the law again. Thanks Dr. OZ is a great show. For regular TV

can seroquil be a cause of mitral valve prolapse ## Hi Monica, While I haven't found any information relating Seroquel (Quetiapine) to Mitral valve prolapse, I did find "fast or irregular heartbeat" to be a severe side effect associated with this medication. I do wonder though if this side effect, in and of itself, can eventually lead to Mitral valve prolapse? If you're experiencing any unusual or disabling side effects by taking Seroquel, then I would recommend asking your doctor about switching medications or opting for a more natural alternative to the drug. You may also want to take a look at Seroquel's list of side effects, for reference: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001030/#a698019-sideEffects I hope this helps! ## Can you take seroqel with a prolapsed hea...

Should Seroquel be used on a 98 year old dimentia patient? ## I am sorry, there are no medical professionals on this site and only a doctor who is familiar with her medical history can decide what medications can best help her condition. ## I have seen it used for the elderly but not with increased confusion and high probability of falls. I am a nurse so i can not diagnose. Only tell you my observations.

I gained 30 pounds on this drug and I hate it. My Dr prescribed me a high dose of 400 mg at night and then 25 mg three times a day a day for anxiety. Well I decided to stop taking it and taper myself off. Right now I'm down to 50mg at night. ## Hello, Pyper! How are you? Yes, many of these types of medications can cause weight gain as a side effect. How are you doing with such a drastic dosage cut? Any withdrawal symptoms, such as worsening depression or anxiety? How long were you taking it? ## Verwon I have been on Seroquel for one year. Yes I am experiencing a little increase in anxiety and depression, but its nothing I cant deal with. Besides, I already lost three pounds. Yippee..

So I found this pill, It's not seroquel as it doesn't match any of the pictures. It's small round and white, marked 50 on one side, it's blank on the other. The face and back aren't flat like the seroquel pills, they're rounded. I believe it may be Tramadol, though some posts online have said hydrocodone. I really would like to know as my brother is supposed to be clean of opiates and I hope he hasn't relapsed. I hope he isn't abusing anything, but opiates especially! Any help is appreciated. ## Hello, Liitke! How are you? Is the 50 pressed into the tablet? If so, I believe you may have found a 50mg Quetiapine tablet, it's an atypical antipsychotic. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, weight gain and somnolence.

I take 150 mg of Trazadone and 400 mg of Seroquel XR, and have just in the last week started taking 10 mg of Brintellix. I feel nauseated, shaky, and keep looking flushed it has been 6 days should i stop taking it? ## Yes, please contact your doctor immediately! The Trazodone increases the toxicity of the Brintellix via a serotonin reaction, you may be developing serotonin syndrome, which can be life threatening. How are you doing?

I was prescribed Seroquel for insomnia after Ambion and other medications did not work for me. He only wrote me 30 of the 50mg coated tablets, stating that I may find what works for me and that typically people need between 200-400mg's/daily. throughout the last week, I have been sleeping every night with only an hour or two of being awake throughout which is leaps and bounds from how I was before the Seroquel. I have been taking 250mg at 8;30pm and all was going well until...oh s***, I only have 250mg's in my bottle and its a Friday night! with a busy schedule, I didn't realize until my GP's office was closed. it is now sunday morning and I have not slept since Saturday morning. My question: can I do anything to get a pharmacist to help me with one nights amount, taking...

I've been taking seroquel xr 200mg x 2 a day. I've been taking it for a year and a half now and I'm wanting to have a baby but I'm scared to death of the withdrawals. I've read some scary stories as well as dangers of the drug I wasn't aware of. Any advise/suggestions? ## Hello, Niki! How are you? I would suggest consulting your doctor. They will be able to help you with a proper and safe way to taper off of the medication, before you become pregnant. That would be far better than trying to get ideas on internet. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I've tried to taper off with my doctors approval but I was got so sick after changing the dosage one time. I was hoping there may be a vitamin or a supplement to help with the withdrawals.

First, should Seroquel be given to a mentally retarded man, who can not communicate to the Dr(s) if he was having any side effects to this medication? Heard it is a really heavy duty medication and must be prescribed by a physcian, very carefully. Also should it be taken along with other medications that he has been prescribed? ## It is an antipsychotic medication and they can be pretty powerful, but they are commonly prescribed to these types of patients, just as much as they are to someone with a normal mental capacity. He should just be closely monitored by his family and doctors for any side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, sedation and the development of diabetes. More on it here: As to whether or not it can be taken with other medications, it really depends on the specific med...

Hi evryone, does anyone know how to come off 500mgs quetiapine safely after 2.5 years? Many thanks, ## If you're like me, the drug makes you drowsy, and you need to speak up and discuss this with your doctor and bring the dose down over the years. It's almost certain there is some substantial dose you need, say, to sleep well, but it's quite a powerful drug and the side effects can be debilitating. Every 25 or 50mg is quite a lot, and needs two weeks for you to observe and be comfortable with the changes. It's not like going off completely, and well worth trying to reduce.

I suffer from major depression disorder and cymbalta 60 mg was not enough to take care of it. Then my doctor prescribe me resperidone 2 mg as a Add on treatment. Then she increased the reperidone it to 4 mg then week later took me of the resperidone and switch me to seroquel 200 mg then she switched the dose to 300 mg but when she sent the prescription to the pharmacy she sent the seroquel XR 300 mg. I made a mistake for the first week I was on seroquel I took both seroquel and resperidone together which seem to work but when worked better then when I took together. I suffer from insomnia so I wake up a bunch of times through the night. So when I stop taking resperidone and got up in the middle of the night my balance was extremely bad like if I drunk. So I tried taking resperidone agai...

Subject A was sectioned under the mental health act in the UK, he had not been taking medication for a while, he was prescribed 750mg a night in hospital for 10 days, on the second night subject began to experience his heart stop and would jump up pounding his chest asking for help, put on heart monitor and heart rate was 180 or higher, high blood pressure and told it was anxiety go to sleep. Seroquel? Large oval peach pill. Scored with L on one side and R on the other. ## Hello, Mike! Where did you find it? I can't find a listing for this in any of the prescription drug databases that I checked, so far. And the nature of that marking leads me to suspect that it is an over the counter product. Some of them are regional, so knowing the general location may help to narrow it down. Does anyone else recognize this tablet?
