Roxicodone 15mg Extended Release

I am being told this does not come in 15mg. Is this true? My doctor wants to take me off the 15MG IR to a longer lasting pain killer. Did he make a mistake?

I guess the topic line does not show up. I am looking for the Roxicodone 15mg Extended release. I am being told this does not exist. Did my doctor make a mistake? I am on the oxycodone 15MG IR but he wants me on something that will last longer.

Okay, first of all, you are confusing the names of medications. They all contain Oxycodone, but are different formulations and under different trade names.


The one you mentioned, Roxicodone is a regular release formulation of Oxycodone, there is no time released or instant release formulation of it. It is, however, also available as a generic.

Another one is OxyIR, which is the one is sounds like you were taking, it is an instant release formulation of Oxycodone and is also available as a generic.

The third option is Oxycontin, it is a time released formulation of Oxycodone and there is no generic for it. This is the one it seems he wants to switch you to.

And yes, Oxycontin, the extended release is available in a 15mg tablet. However, because it is time released, your doctor may actually just want to adjust your dosage.


It is still a narcotic, so the side effects would be the same as what you are used to and can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation.

Hello i just filled my roxy 15mg and i thought it was fake it had 187 on it other sid a line they told me its a new manufacturing company so i had half bottle 187 and the other k8 the 187 is a company called craicio or craco somthing like that but there 15mg ir immediate release. hope that helps have a goodone oh and the k8is company kvtech something in that form i don't like the 187 but all ppl are different when it comes. to meds and so on thanks Ken
