I was on Propranolol 80mg extended-release tablets for 2 days for my anxiety. I know it's bad to suddenly stop taking beta-blockers, but I had to because my heart rate was too low and I felt horrible. I was told by a doctor that I should be ok to just stop altogether. I really just wanted some reassurance. Will I be ok? I stopped about 2 days ago, and my heart rate seems fine. ## OMG story of my life! I was prescribed Propranolol 80mg for anxiety also and just stopped taking them cold turkey 2 days ago because it was lowering my blood pressure and heart rate way too much, making me dizzy/light headed, etc. I feel awful right now, I have a headache, weird heart palpitations/fluttering, weakness, fatigue, sweating, etc. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow and I'm going to speak t...

i have only been on propranolol for about 2 weeks now but i feel like i need to stop taking it as ive read and heard it can be dangerous. i take 2 x 40mg a day. i am only on it to stop the symptoms of my hyperactive thyroid so its not anything bad to do with my heart. ive read online that coming off them suddenly may result in angina or heart problems so i dont want to risk it. has anyone got any advice on how to gradually come off them? i was thinking of taking half of one twice a day instead so it would be 20mg twice a day which is half of what i take now. would that be a good way to do it or has anyone got any other solutions? i am a 17 year old female with type 1 diabetes as well. thanks! ## Hello, Jasmin! I am very concerned about the present shortage of Pur Bloka which was originally prescribed to assist the tremors in 2014, and this has been part of my chronic medication ever since. Dasage 20mg twice daily. This is now the second time that I have experienced a shortage in supply. My concern is that I tend to commence suffering from quite severe angina which usually occurs when I go to bed at night. Could this develop into something serious? Suffered Myocardial infarction in 1993. Other chronic medicines prescribed for hypertention are Ridaq 12.5mg daily and Enap 10mg twice daily. Please adivise when Purbloka will be available again?

Someone gave me a tan capsule and said its a vicodine but I dnt think it is cuz I have never seen them in that form before can someone help me to find out what this is.. ## Are there any markings on the capsule? I'm sorry, but I need more details to be able to help you. Can you please post back and clarify? However, I can tell you that if something doesn't have markings on it, it is most likely not a prescription medication. Under current FDA regulations, they are all required to have markings to enable their identification, the only exception would be for specially compounded medications. Thus, something without markings is most likely an over the counter product, of some type.

Hello. I started taking 20mg propranolol immediate release for migraines 3 times daily. This was working perfectly for my migraines. My doctor decided to change my medication to the extended release propranolol 60mg once daily, reason being she said it would be more convenient for me. As soon as I started the extended release my migraines came back. Why would this happen if it's the same medication and what should I do? ## Hello, Christina! How are you? Has there been any change? The time released is slowly released throughout the day, so you might not be getting enough, at once, to stave off your migraines. The full dose of the regular release is usually working within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it, so that might be why it worked better for you. Have you asked him about going back ...

Hey I been on this for two days and my head is Pouding in the back ## Hello, Jill! How are you? Yes, that can be a side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, increased urination and hypotension. Side effects should go away, with time, as your body gets used to the medication, which may take 4 to 5 weeks. I have been on 80 mg off propanolol for about 10 years now. Works great for migraine control but I have Reynards as side effect. Main worry is after blood test due to palpitations ( atopic and not a worry but possibly due to propanolol I think) I have low red blood cell number and platelets. They are about to start testing me for MDS ..basically bone marrow failure. I am very young for this apparently, only 45 whereas most are over 70 and I don't feel too unwell. I read propanolol can cause blood cell issues very rarely. Anyone has experience? I have opened up my slow release capsule and removed a quarter of the beads. I am cutting down rather than face a bone marrow biopsy in a months time of levels are any worse. Any thoughts guys? ## Hello, PennyJane! How are you? While Propranol...

Hi. I suffered a brain injury 14 years ago and have since been through various meds to help control depression, anxiety and digestive issues. I ve been through several anti deppressant drugs like fluoxetine, zoloft, sertraline, citralopram and some others that i can't remember. I ve had adverse effects from all of them, my neurologist says it may not be direct depression but a chemical imbalance in my brain. My new gp said that as i ve had a bad reaction to the other mentioned pills that I should try propanalol 10mg 3 times daily to slow my heart down and therefore ease my anxiety. The 10mg propanalol gave me horrible nightmares and difficulty getting to sleep. I told the doctor and she proceeded to put me on 80mg slow release. I ve been taking them for 4 weeks, 1 daily in the morni...

Hi. I have been taking propanolol 80 mg LA for tachycardia, panic attacks, palpitations, and benign PVC's since age 19. I am 52 now. I have been taking it without any problems for years, it changed my life. Recently the opposite is happening, I have had a much slower heartbeat -- 52 on the propanolol, and I'm more tired on it. I have been under a lot of stress this past year and am feeling the after affects. I would like to take a lower dosage of propanolol to keep my heart rate in the normal range. I tried going without my 80 mg capsule last night but felt anxiety, PVC's, and headache. I am thinking about carefully opening the 80 mg capsule, pouring out half, then putting it back together to get a half dose. That way I could still have the long acting capsule in my system w...
