I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Diana, I haven't taken prolia- my docs tried to get me to take it right after osteoporosis diagnosis.. well I was really diagnosed 4 years ago but my doc didn't tell me the results then. I have hyperparathyroidism already so no relation to prolia. I think other people here said they have also had a rise in calcium or a drop and hyperparthyroidism. So it's not a surprise and most likely IS from prolia which affects your body in multiple ways, this drug is dangerous. Maybe you were heading towards it and prolia tipped the scale or maybe it just caused it alone. I can't understand how anyone would consider it for me with all my existing health issues or for anyone.

Poodle, just reading in entirety this post. Perhaps arthritis agravated by Prolia? I too had terrible pain in shoulder after a few weeks into injection. I had to hold arm over head while driving and hold on to a handle above. It left but still a bit sore to touch after the radiofrequency procedure. Prolia has, such a wide range of devastation. I can't bring myself to go back to doctor as I dont want to be pushed. But will have to go soon for calcium check. Have you tried accupuncture?

Skitty, docs are telling me the arising of hyperparathyroid and calcium climbing in blood is not from Prolia. Never had this pre Prolia.

I just joined you on the other place where people can ask about Prolia. I invited them all here so they can find out the real truth and I wrote quite a lengthy bad report on Prolia at that place. If that doesn't keep them away from it, they deserve what they get. I had not posted there in months and had to get a new password, etc. Thank you for being there. The more we can say, the better people will be. Pood

Kitty~I hate to be nosey but what is going on after over 2 years post injection One. I'm very much afraid that Canadian has passed away from 1 injection of Prolia. Last time she was here was with a broken femur in her 4th month post first and only injection and no previous meds.

My Dr. is nuts and I know it. She says that stem cells don't work period. She was the one that had me on Prednisone for 10-20mg/day for one solid year that ruined my bones and she was the one that pushed me into Prolia for which she deeply apologized. Apology accepted but I don't trust her as far as I can throw her. I have actual proof that I can have her license taken away at my will. Just biding my time. I get my pain meds there and every 3 months I get my shoulder injected and that's where I get my arthritis med. It's not to where it needs to be replaced. It just makes using my right arm difficult and painful especially since I don't have much in the way of hips and knees at present. She is the only one in the whole State so I have to put up with her.

My Grandpa was a very intelligent man and he said: "Stay away from doctors and lawyers." Never went to one in his life and the only time my Grandma went to a Dr. was when she got shingles and at that time there was zero anyone could do.

Pood, I forgot to say that I hope you get some more calcitonin, and me too if it is safe for me. I hope your neck treatment goes well. I was having terrible back pain for 2 months but for some reason the last two weeks or so it is getting better thank god. Also my whole elbow/arm/shoulder was messed up- my doc thinks it's an impinged nerve. But even that is getting better a bit now. I use heat and tens every night. For a while I couldn't wear my bras and had to buy really loose ones but even they hurt. today I wore one of my regulars and it was ok. Right now my reflux is very bad so I had to go back on acid blockers. I hope it resolves soon. I'm already such a wreck I can only imagine what prolia would have done to me... killed me probably. And I have hyperparathyroid already so why would they even suggest that with all my other health issues. It's crazy.

Pood, your doc sounds like a crazy to me that she can sit there and lie to you and deny this is incredible. I thought she said that she was sorry she did this to you? Age isn't causing any of this.. that is the lie they tell themselves after they cause harm. I had some docs try to tell me my vision damage was due to aging but it was from dka and trauma during dka- I set them straight on it the minute anyone says something like that. I feel horrified by what she has said, ugh. I hope eventually you find someone else to give you painkillers. I can't drink juice most of the time now because of diabetes unless I'm hypo but I will try some pomegranite fruit. The prunes also lower my ldl, lets hope it's building bones too. I called to get my bloodwork results and the actual doctor left a message to call him tomorrow. I hope that isn't a sign something else showed up. I'm so exhausted and feel horrible and I didn't even have prolia, lol. Thank god for all of you and that I came here and read all of your comments here. My father looked up all those drugs and said no way don't ever take them.

I am with you on the nasty side effects of prolia. Today is 8 months after the shot & am still having bone pain in thighs, hips, buttocks & down left leg. Better known as sciatica, caused by prolia as it affects your nervous system. In the last 2 mo. have developed dermatitis, psoriasis, & warts on bottom of foot. They are all related to the immune system which prolia has compromised & is side effects from the poison. Still having muscle spasms that keep me awake at night & am still having hair loss 8 mo. post injection. I spoke with someone @ Amgen (Maker of prolia) yesterday for the 3rd time since Aug. 2015 to no satisfaction again. I then called my insurance Co. to try & convince them to stop approving prolia for payment to Drs. as it is a dangerous drug & they have had to pay for all Dr. visits caused by the side effects of prolia. I will continue to call both Amgen & my Ins. Co. each week until my pain & skin conditions are gone. Good luck to all.

Someone made a wise point here - if this doesn't affect our body, why don't they give us the Prolia pamphlet along with the medicine? Thanks for the tips for the Eucerin - I used it years ago for dry skin - - will try it - the sores are starting to clear up some, but have a ways to go. The ones around my ankles burn still - I can't imagine how terrible it would be if they all burned like that. Husband bought me a new shower with power jets to stream water and these long warm showers with water pounding on my midsection and haunches seems to be helping the skin too. Ya'll are saving my sanity. When the medical profession tells you that all these side effects are not real, and offer no other explanation, one tends to wonder about their sanity, yet the proof is not only invisible, but also very visable. Being pushed into the doc's office in a wheelchair two weeks after Prolia shot, does the doctor think I'm a hypochondriac? Determined not to care, but push through to do whatever we have to do. Next project - write AMGEN. So their plan now is Reclast. No way.

To all that are or have been taking Prolia. Prolia will make your Vit D be low and your calcium will be sky high. It has been a year since my last shot and I am still having issues with that awful medicine. Also the excema and rash on my arms and legs are beginning to get better. I purchased some Aveena Body wash with the Coillidal Oatmeal in it and this is what I take a bath with. Then I put on Eurecin lSkin Calming lotion and it is helping a lot. My doctor told me yesterday that my Calcium level is almost back to normal and my Vit D is ok. Beware of anything they tell you does not effect your body. They told me for a solid year that Prolia would not cause any of these, but when I talked to the company that makes it they said it was very possible. Bad drug and should be taken off the market.

Skittie~forget the prunes and go for cranberry-pom juice. There is something in that pom that really works pretty quickly. I can only have 1/4 glass of it and then add water otherwise I'm in the bathroom in a few hours.

Yes Skittie~I go to the same so I don't have to get a separate Pain Specialist. She has absolutely no problem with what I'm on and she started to write out a Rx and I said: No, not now. I'm good until about the 19th or so.
Most people in her office are pretty old so probably would not know that she did not have her iPhone on when she looked up the Calcitonin. She did not open Safari and look up anything. The screen was black. I have checked all sites on the net, the FDA and MDA and they have no comments about it. Flat out lie!! She did my shoulder well so that was worth the visit for about 3 months. She also refused to believe my severe hair loss is from Prolia and had zero comment about when I mentioned the pain going up my neck into my mouth from the injection of Prolia she did ONE year ago WRONG. I'm going to GP to get PT to dry needle it and get my Calcitonin. One year is long enough to wait from this poisonous Prolia. Then a drug rep came in and she argued with him that his pills are worthless and the only things that work are the injectables which make Prolia seem to be like an aspirin. What an interesting afternoon. I washed my hair Sat. eve. and had it all gathered up from the drain it was clogging so she could see it and I forgot the bottle. That definitely is not old age and I'm not that old. Never had it before and in one year I all of a sudden am in old age? After Prolia, maybe! It does take it's toll on us. Even according to the Feds I'm not in old age yet. Pood Gurrrrr

I had testing done with the Rheumy. I still haven't got the blood panel results but a 24 hr urine calcium was high. He seems to think that it could be primary hyper parathyroid & asked if I will have them removed. I stopped taking vit D and calcium which I had started again do to worrying about not enough inky diet. But I think they were making me feel ill. I'm going to ask about calcitonin and forteo again when the parathyroid issue is worked out. I'm so exhausted and hope the prunes are helping in me.

Poodle are you still seeing the same doc who gave you prolia? Why don't you find someone else?

Hi all~Just got back from my Dr's office. I asked for Calcitonin. She said they don't make that any more and I said yes they do so she gets on her iPhone that did not even light up so I know she was not on it and proceeded to tell me that she could not give me a prescription for it because I'm too old. I said too old? My mother took it until age 96. I left with zero but I'll hit up my GP as I don't think he really cares and would not bother to look anything up. I just checked the AMA and the FDA and there are no age limits on Calcitonin. She just personally doesn't like it. Pood
