Updated

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Hi
Please keep us posted as to what your attorney has to say. I saw one and he said nothing he could do...

Goat C. Is your attorney doing the typical 60-40 split with you? If you win, you get the 60% but out of that amount is deducted every phone call, piece of paper and postage stamp. I know. I won one not too terribly long ago and out of my $44,000 I personally received $22,000 and we did not even go to Court. We settled in mediation. That's how much phone calls to expert witnesses cost and postage, etc. The attorney gets the 40% PLUS ALL EXPENSES which they fail to state correctly. On another one that did go to Court that was a very large class action suit, I received a letter from the Court telling me I had won and received zero sum. That was good news. That will never happen to Amgen. They have the full blessing from all of our respective governments. Pood

Regarding lawsuits: I do not have the resources to fight " The big boys".

Even if Amgen settled, it is just considered a nuisance by them. Nothing will come of it. In this country, health care is a commodity.

I was in a class action suit against the maker of Synthroid. It was the largest settlement ever by big pharma. In the end, we each were awarded $ 18.00.

Hello Again,
Just following up on my earlier post, my pain is unbelievable, can't seem to get it together, my bones hurt and my body feels flu-like, this shot has stopped me from
doing my everyday task. I get up, get motivated only to say, some other day I will do this, because of my body, I hurt so bad, all over.. I don't understand why it is lingering.
I have had this shot before and the nurse , asked have you had a reaction in the past, to which I replied, my body had pain, and I ached all over, had shortness of breath, however, at the same time, I have fibromyalgia, so I thought, it must be my fibro, but, now that I had another Prolia shot the link is undeniable, my intense pain is from the shot! I just can't go, I feel like I have been sick with the flu ever since the shot! I called my primary care doctor and was told it could linger in my body for months, and , "who knows if there is permanent damage".
I hate this, and can't fix it, my everyday chores have to wait until I can get a grip on what is happening to me from a shot! Also I am having horrible shortness of breath, have had to cancel plans with my child and grandchildren because of pain/breathing. Breathing poorly, causes so much mental confusion, I can't take care of business, it is getting out of hand.
My hair is falling out, and I have pain in my hands that will not allow me to hold a coffee cup for any length of time, I have dropped a cup because of pain. It's ridiculous .. No person should have to endure this pain. I will never ever take another shot of Prolia! I will take my D Vitamins and all other natural meds to try to maintain. I might also add, that I took the Forteo shot in the stomach for 2 years, I did not have this pain, I was walking everyday and now, can't seem to go walk because I am confused, (breathing/pain), can't do it, terrible.
Also, the shortness of breath makes me PANIC like crazy, feels like air is coming in from a tiny straw and I can't get it quick enough, so I have to calm myself with breathing slow deliberate breaths.. of course that is tough when the air will not come in quick enough. So how many trips to the ER? Many, in fear of not breathing , it's terrible!

He will take a third of whatever it is. Then they might need the expert witness 5 grand my cost. I will not mediate a jury trial is best. The way people feel about big pharma it is better.

Gracie I am so sorry you are experiencing these horrible side effects.Did. you take a round of prednisone? That helped cool my sumtoms somewhat then i ate an antiinflammatory diet which also helped. I felt like a furnace was burning inside couldn't tolerate any heat and very little i can put on my skin related to it causing a rash. After the 6 months the furnace is gone and i am left with the chore of rebuilding the fit body and health i had previos to prolia the skin rashes vontinue when i apply essential oils that never bothered me before

Sounds like what i am experiencing. It is not what i was warned about. It is a biologic and these side effects are in line of what they do. Hope you hang in there that is all we are able to do at this point. Pain management and rest.

Gracie,

You are telling my story !
The last few days have been remarkably better for me, with a decrease in symptoms.

My last shot was in January.

Best wishes for improved health.

ps. At one point, I got a couple of good months from an inj. of Toredal.

And that is what it's all about. The lawyers capitalize and the the poor patients get crumbs. It's DISGUSTING!

Hey Elaine , yes my body temp feels hot all the time, I have my air conditioning set on 74 and feel like its 85
I ask everyone, "are you hot", they all reply, not really ? Prednisone, no, I don't think I'll take another thing for this problem, I'll just try green tea, lemon water, and any natural body purification I can think of, wishing I could get going, it's beautiful here in the SW today, I'm at the table just looking out the door, want to go for a walk :) , just brain numb , not sure what to do?
Get better people, sorry you hurt , also pray a lot :)

Goat C~if you can eat large meals, take a supplement of all B vitamins, Vitamin A and Saw Palmetto for women. It should get the hair happy again. When I took my B's it had been maybe an hour after breakfast and I got quite ill and threw them up and then felt okay again. When it says with meals they mean with meals and as much as possible. I've been a little reluctant to try again since I am Celiac and don't like the food very well. There is also a published paper about Prolia by three MD's who stated that a male had one injection of Prolia and against his genetics developed A. Alopecia. We need to have our scalps checked by a Dermatologist to make sure hair can grow again meaning hair follicles are not closed tight shut. it will take me approximately six+ months to get an appointment with a Dermatologist here. This could be a very serious problem for all of us who are shedding a lot of hair. It goes beyond what one normally loses getting older. Sorry about the bad news. It affects me too~Pood

Gracie pred only short term like a week. I use natural compounds as well and keep it up. I take a scoop of collegen powder in my coffee every morning to help keep my skin from being as damaged. I also try hard to eat an antiinflammatory diet to help lower my inflammation

I'm with you Elaine. I just added Collagen; have been following an anti inflammatory diet.

It has not been a quick fix. After a couple of good days, my body fired up again. At least I don't have much pain. Now it is skin eruptions and of course

I nooted on every 16 days which is the half life of prolia 2-3 days before the rash would resurface requiring topical stetouds to control the itch. As the months progressed it got less severe. I am 8 months out from injection and my akin is very sensitive to all products with any sents . I am at the beach and my face and wrist where the worst if the rash wad are broken out again. I have also used benadryl, it makes the itch go away

Elaine~Pred. can be used up to one year depending on the problem. One does have to go off it slowly or it can cause the blood to go crazy and up comes DVT's and PE's which no one wants. Only Rheumatologists will use it for extended periods of time. It's not good for bones but great for getting rid of certain problems. Be well~Pood

I wanted to say Thank You to all of y'all for sharing your problems after getting a Prolia infusion. I was just days away from getting my first one when I found this forum. I was very reluctant to get it even before I found this forum but y'all s stories made up my mind for me. It was scheduled for yesterday 8/22/17 but I called the day before and cancelled it.

My bone density scan came back at -4.2 so my doctor recommended Prolia. I have always been very cautious about committing to any long term medications so decided to do my research on this one and I am so glad I did. I will just take my chance of broken bones since I really don't think I can stand any more pain added to what I already live with. I have lived with osteoarthritis for many years and that is enough to have to deal with.

I am so sorry to read about what so many of y'all are going through and pray that you will all find a way to get back to life before Prolia.

Mattie, you are very wise. I was do foolish to agree to this. The fact is , I knew better. When I first learned I had Osteo. I said "No thank you" to medication. It was when I learned that I had spinal fractures that I became frightened, and that made me vulnerable.
I rue the day! Now, I follow an anti inflammatory diet, take supplements. When I am not feeling too weak, O do resistance exercises, yoga( there are specific yoga poses for Osteo) and other activities.

Best wishes to you
