Hi! I want to postpone my periods. They are always regular. I had my last periods on 16th april (was 1st day). Now if i have to take primolut nor 10mg from when do i have to start the dosage? From which date i have to start in this month to postphone my periods? Thanks.

Hi ! my Gyne prescribed 10 mg of Primolut -Nor , twice daily for 15 days. Because she found out during ultrasound that i have 5 cm ovarian cyts. Do you think it might help in removing my cyst? Please need answer to any expert.

Based on my research, Primolut Nor (10 mg) contains the active ingredient Norethindrone; which is a molecule used in some combined oral contraceptive pills, progestogen only pills and is also available as a stand-alone drug. It is a progestogen and can be used to treat premenstrual syndrome, painful periods, abnormal heavy bleeding, irregular periods, menopausal syndrome (in combination with oestrogen), or to postpone a period. It is also commonly used to help prevent uterine hemorrhage in complicated non-surgical or pre-surgical gynecologic cases.

Primolut Nor (10 mg) can be used to postpone the menstrual cycle when required. Be sure to only use this medication with the guidance of a doctor/OBGYN.

How to take Primolut Nor (10 mg):

Take 1 tablet 3 times a day, starting 3 days prior to the date your period is due to begin. The medication is meant to postpone your menstrual cycle until after you stop taking the pills. 2-3 days after you stop taking the medication, your menstrual cycle should resume.

Do not take this medication if any of the following applies to you:

You are taking the oral contraceptive pill
You have an operation planned
You are pregnant or breastfeeding
You have a history of jaundice
You have diabetes or have a known intolerance to sugars
You have or are recovering from liver disease
You have a blood clot or are at risk of developing clots

Possible side effects:

nausea
worsening of epilepsy
worsening of migraines
skin problems
