Lyrica Help

Updated

I found out about Lyrica after 6 months of the soles of my feet felt like thick Elephant pads and painfull. The sharp needles and pins prickling night and day.The bottom of my feet and toes burned to the point of turning red. I tried Benfotiamine..no help. I tried Novacaine I bought through a Canadian pharmacy...no help. I found one thing that would help some.Sitting with your feet up and a wet wash cloth draped over the feet and havin a ceiling fan blowing on them. At night I would wet the wash cloths ,fold into a triangle. fold tightly around the feet and pin on with a large safety pin. I stuck my feet out from under the covers. It was the only thing that would allow me some sleep. My Doctor would alwayssay he didn't knowwhat would help. I was already on Darvacet and Flexeril. I found the answer on Yahoo Answers. Told them I did not have Periferial Neuropathy from being Diabetic. Told them at times you would get sharp pains some where on the legs that felt like bee stings, I gotthree answers...all three said don't go to a chiopracter;;;;;I had been told by two chuopractors that I had pinched nerves...the second chiopractor said he would not touch me untill I had an MRI.Results were....mild diffuse disc are present at L2-3, L3-4 andL5.At L3-4 s smallleft paracentral disc protrusion is present causibg anterolateral indentionof the thecal sacwithprobable compression of thetraversing L3 nerve root.
The L3-4 andL4-5disc bulges have associated centtral annular tears.Mild facet Anthropathy is presentL5-S1.
Multilevel degenerative disc desiccation and mild narrowing.
Annulartears L3-4 AND l4-5
Left paracentral disc protrussion L2-3 probably compressing the traversingL3 nerve root. I am seeing a good Chiopractor- Neurologist and after 5 visitc the neuropathy is leaving!! I am hopefull it will soon be gone,

I think Chiropractors are good too. Ive been to a manipulative physio recently and she is very good also. I would totally suggest Yoga if you haven't already tried it. I know it's hard to stretch when you feel sick or tired but it works better than anything, including doctors, treatments, tablets etc.

Hello Carla! How are you feeling? I am so very glad that you're finally getting the help you need.

The concerns that some people have about chiropractors are valid, as with any profession, there are always a few bad apples. Chiropractic practice is not strictly regulated for safety, and efficacy, and does not require an actual medical degree, which has occasionally resulted in bad results, including stroke, worsening of their symptoms, new symptoms appearing, and neurological damage.

You can learn more Chiropractic Adjustment Information here.

So, while I would never tell anyone not to go to one, I would advise being cautious by checking the qualifications of the one you want to visit, and keeping track of what type of procedures they want to perform on you, so you can call a halt, if you aren't comfortable with something. Additionally, if you suffer from any serious medical conditions, make sure that you regular medical doctor approves of you seeing one, as there are times when it may not be safe to do so, and make sure the chiropractor is also aware of all medical conditions, and medications you may be taking.

Are you still taking the Lyrica?

It is often used to help alleviate nerve pain, and the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, mood changes, weight changes, and dry mouth.

Are you diabetic, is that why they were just assuming that was causing your issues?
