Is This Real Or Is Someone Geting Over On Me??

I got a red n blue capspule that had no imprints or any other markings that is said to be a oxycodone 30 is this real?? I never have seen one this color that was a oxy so im kinda scared to take untill i make sure its real.

Among the manufactured U.S. prescription drugs, there is only a 5mg Oxycodone capsule available and they all have markings. The only 30mg available are tablets and they also all have markings.

The only way this could contain Oxycodone would be if it was something specially ordered by a doctor that was done by a compounding pharmacy and that would be very unusual, since there is a 30mg dosage available in the both the regular and time released tablets.

There is also a small chance that it's a foreign medication.

But based on what I know of prescription drugs, I have to say that it is most likely just an over the counter product of some type.

I sure as heck wouldn't take it as Oxy IR 30. I worked in the ER and pvt practice for several years.. and during that time, oxycodone came into real recognition, after Percocet 5mg, by Endo Pharm had it out there for several years. With the intro of OxyContin, oxycodone began getting national recognition. Roxicodone 30 mg., has actually been the one of the more recent strengths of this synthetic opium based medication. Even tho it is generic now, NEVER heard it distributed in this country as a multi colored capsule... with doctors and the government reviewing stats that reflect an outrageous number of narcotics being prescribed, everyone is pulling back. It can be helpful in treating legitimate chronic pain and terminal diseases, but look for the number of new patients getting it, to be cut significantly in the next few years. It seems like it is about balance. Doctors were being sued and losing in court for unde rtreating pain and the pharmaceutical companies went crazy. Hydrocodone, a Control Three narcotic was marketed as Vicodin, Lortab, Norco, etc. The once popular Tylenol #3 with codeine is virtually extinct today. Unfortunately, physical dependence goes along with this, so I think that there will be far less of this going out, along with all other narcotics. Extended released medications are being reformulated, and the number of new opioids has sorta stopped. I would not take that capsule and believe you are getting Oxy IR 30mg. from this country
