How To Get Off Suboxone (Page 3)

Im Marina Im 24 years old and a mother of 2 beautiul little boys. From the years 2006-2007 i was heavily addicted to Oxy 80 and eventually started doing herion. I got help in sep.2007 at a methadone clinic, it worked for as long as i was on the methadone i had NO relapse's. In June 2009 i was completly off of the methadone that first day that i was on 0Mgs I went through extreme withdrawls i went through things that i would never wish upon my worst enemy! i stayed that way for a day and a half and decided to go to a suboxone doctor. He put me on 32 mgs a day which i thought was pretty high of a dose but he explained to me that methadone withdrawls was worst then any other withdrawls. so i trusted him. Now when i go to see him every month i pretty much beg for him to start the weining process and start lowering me and he pretty much refuses. After months of being on 32mgs a day he finally started tapering me down slowly, i never really thought any thing of it till now but i realized he's keeping me on the suboxne for as long as posible so that he can get my $200.00 a month. all he is, is a legal drug dealer bc now im highly addicted to the suboxone. I recently had to go a few days with out my suboxone bc i didnt have the money to see him and i went through hell. i thought methadone withdrawl was bad OMG there is no comparison. i wanted to either use which i havent done in years or rip my face off lol its funny now but it definatley wasnt funny a few days ago while i was feeling that way! So i spoke to a good friend whos going through the same thing and he told me that they just came out with a new pill to get you off suboxone. I just want to know if that's true. I tryed googleing it but i cant find any thing. If you have heard of this new pill please respond or if you even have a good way to get off soboxone as painless and posible... thanx

Ranger- how long have you been off subs now? And what does trams and gabi stand for? I'm wondering if I should check myself into a sub detox, but heard it's not worth it. You still feel horrible.
Cookie- Good for you. Keep strong! One minute at a time. Maybe, you're at one day at a time now? Did a doctor help you ween or did you not have one?
Thanks

I posted yesterday that I was not off Subs, but that was an error, it has been a long, hard road, but if you taper down as low as you can, I went down to a 1/8 of a piece for 3 weeks and then jumped. I never thought I could do it but it's not easy but do you want to have to take something everyday just to think you feel ok? I was so sick of that taste in my mouth, and all the money I spent on them I thought I had to stop. It's only been 2 weeks but I have no cravings for anything else. Just still alot of the chills, runny nose, but I'm sure they will go away. I'm just glad I made this decision.

I wonder if you believe what you posted here. I was an opiate addict for many years and I too was on suboxone for years. However in a moment of clarity i decided to be sober I needed to stop suboxone and really be sober. I tapered for 3 months and it was the hardest thing I've ever gone thru but totally worth it. I've been sober now for almost 4 years. All of those fears placed into my head from my doctor of relapse Bc I was no longer taking an addictive drug replacement medication they made a ton of money off of for my drug addiction turned out to be pure bull. I don't have cravings anymore. Staying on suboxone long term robs people of the true experience of sobriety. I think it's horrible so many are heavily addicted to sub. I hope one day it is outlawed for usage over 30 days.

I also think things should be updated. I've gotten alot of help from these people. I'm not off the sub's although it was a long road. I just started tapering lower and lower and not I'm done, never will I take it again. My dr. gave me clonodine to help me, which I think it did, you just have to keep your mind straight if you really want off. I'm not feeling my best yet, but I know I will soon. Thanks to all of you who posted, it was a great help to me. God bless you.

These replies are so old. Just glad I'm off this crap. Why don't you guys update, don't you think we're tired of seeing the same old out dated stories? Have a good life. Bottom line - taper. Just plan on being miserable for a while. Trams, Gabi, anti depressants maybe! Then say goodbye to Suboxone.

Well I guess it's about done . Just leg aches . Never ever again ! Heads on straight ,ok in the depression dept . Took long time though. I feel for all of us. I doubt I'll drop back in, my Suboxone journeys ? Done . No need to even drop in to see how things are going . Why to relive it? Wish everyone the best ,but remember ? It's no cake walk anyone expressing that it is a lair !! It's pure hell on earth .
But ,you can do it . Just 95% won't be able too. At a low 5% ? Your a HERO. GOOD LUCK

I've been on suboxone since 2007 I only took maybe 1-2mg a day for the first 2 years then eventually got up to 8mgs. I'm now at 6mgs and have been so scared till I read your post. I just want to clarify, it was suboxone you were on from 2005-2014? Thank you!!!

I can relate. I was hooked on opiates. i was taking 80mg a day and the doctor wanted me to switch to suboxone cause i just couldn't get off the meds. I went to an Ibogaine clinic in costa rica and had a treatment. I was off the opiates in one day! no withdrawals symptoms and no cravings. I had no cravings for a solid 12 months after the treatment.
I would never lie about something this serious. Ibogaine worked for me. If your on suboxone and want off, the clinic brings you in and switches you over to liquid morphine(no jonesing, sit by tho pool) for 20 days then treats you with one flood dose of ibogaine and its over. the next day your off of it. I'm not kidding look it up . Be well

Like two within a weeks time Until I realized today ,I felt worse when it wore off then I did at the six days I'm able to go before I finally give into a little piece of the Suboxone. Taken me seven months to taper from eight to this last part here . It's the anixtiy and pain in lower legs that besting me ,and no sleep too

Opioid addict for 20 plus years, methadone addict for 8 of those years, and now suboxone addict for the last 3 years. I TRIED EVERY IDEA EVERY DETOX TO MAN THE ONLY Way TO DO THIS IS (1) GET A CASE OF TOILET PAPER (2) GET A CHAIN ABOUT 12 FEET LONG AND A LOCK (3) A WHOLE BUNCH OF SUGAR AND FOOD (4) WATER LOTS OF IT CAUSE YOU HAVE TO STAY HYDRATED DURING THIS PROCESS (5) BLANKETS GET A FEW OF THEM .......ONCE YOU HAVE ALL THE ITEMS IN THIS LIST GO TO YOUR NEAREST FOREST AND WALK INTO IT ABOUT 100 FEET NOT TO FAR IN IN CASE YOU RUN INTO EMERGENCY SOMEONE WILL HEAR YOU AND BRING SOMEONE WHO GENERALLY CARES FOR YOUR HEALTH AND WANTS TO SEE YOU GET CLEAN HAVE HIM CHAIN YOU TO A BIG ASS TREE AND LEAVE ALL THE ABOVE ITEMS (NO CELL PHONES) I REPEAT NO CELL PHONES ..HAVE HIM COME BACK EVERY TWO DAYS TO CHECK ON YOU AND DO THIS FOR THE NEXT 30 DAYS .....THIS HERE IS A 100% GUARANTEED METHOD ....IF YOU COMPLETE THIS THERE WILL BE NO DIPLOMA. THERE WILL BE NO MORE MEETINGS (A.A./N.A.) THE ONLY THING YOU WILL GET OUT OF THIS TREATMENT IS A DRUG FREE LIFE....IF YOU DO THIS AND YOU ARE A MAN I SUGGEST THE TREE SHOULD BE NEXT TO A LAKE AND BRING A FISHING POLE AND TACKLE. THIS CAN BE VERY USEFUL IN THE DETOXING ...

Listen to your doctor, hell the ones that just dispense Suboxone? Please their liars for one, greedy for two, and don't give a s*** about you. But stalling for as long as they can before you get pissed and say firmly !! Taper me down starting now, or you'll report him. It's the newest doctor scheming they have out there now, see you for five minutes, talk like he's a tough guy, then he writes you your script, out the door you go. Never any return calls.

There is no easy and painless way off. You have to want it bad enough to make it happen. There's nothing easy or comfortable about it. I read forums alot. It helps stay positive. Other people's success helped me stay focused, and confirmed it is possible. It was both physically and mentally for me. I used holistic means to help with sleep and the other symptoms. It really boils down to wanting control of your life back. I was totally functional and addicted for around 8 years. I didn't realize how much it affected and controlled my life completely till I got clean. Now I can actually enjoy living instead of pretending that everything is right. Having a clear mind and control is definitely worth it. I tried multiple times before succeeding. Just keep moving forward, and don't loose hope if you slip.

U.S. District Judge Edgardo Ramos, federal court in Manhattan, NY, "Prescription drugs pose the same dangers as illicit substances," he said. "It is important that people understand this is a serious problem." Doctors do not understand the blowback repercussions of all these meds. Only 1% of users actually transition off these meds successfully, which is why no one gets it but those of us who have been able to taper off of them successfully. To do this, we need the help of experts who have assisted people in regaining their lives.

The best method of tapering off of benzodiazepines or pain meds is with the assistance of an organization entitled, Point of Return. I am not affiliated with nor do I work for them, but my experience was so beneficial that I'd simply like others to know about the outstanding help they offer.

I spent 5 1/2 months tapering off oxycodone at home and now am drug-free. They provided a taper schedule written by a physician who prescribed a liquid form of oxy which I was instructed to reduce by 5% every 7 days, as pill-cutting is a very poor way to taper. They also provide nutritional support that allows the body to detoxify slowly, and they have been successful, as I mentioned above, with thousands of people, most of whom were addicted to benzodiazepines, sleeping pills or antidepressants.

Their team assisted me through the whole process so that I never felt alone, plus they have a wonderful forum whose members daily offer kind and caring support to each other and the benefit of their own actual experiences. My doctor was not willing to be informed and was of no help whatsoever. These people supported and encouraged me by phone, email and on their forum. They are always there, without fail, for everyone using their program.
