Filling Dilaudid Prescptions At Wallgreens

Updated

my wife has nerve damage in her cervical, lumbar, and sacrial areas of her spine. her doc. has been trying to find a med that will relieve her pain. most of them are opiates. lortab, 25mcg patch, gabapentin. she is highly allergic to thoridal(sp?) and most anti-inflamitories. the doc is doing 2 week trials so it is easy to assume that when she keeps coming in with a different script that somthing is shady. her body chemistry is odd and meds do not have ordinary effects on her. example, morphine has zero effect on her. now she is trying to fill a a legal script for dilaudid and the walgreens said she does not fit an undiscribed criteria and wont fill the script because the dosage is too high. this failure to meet the criteria will result in her not being able to submit that prescription for 6 months as per walgreens policy. the doctor is going to rewrite the dosage for a lower script and we will try that with great hope. we went through a lot to change doctors to a respectable pratice and have used the same pharmacy for ten years. we are fearful of changing pharmacies as to avoid being accused of shopping. is what the pharmacy doing legal. what can we do? how do we get her meds? we live in Florida (go figure). Answers or advice is welcome.

You're definitely not alone, as it seems like everyone in Florida is having complications trying to fill their pain management scripts, no matter the dosage.

If I could offer any advice that may be of help, I would consider trying an online pharmacy so that you don't have to deal with these people questioning your every move. You may have to wait a couple days for shipping, but I'd say it's better late than never.

Legitimate online pharmacies that carry the VIPPS seal are listed at:

I hope this helps!

i think thant has more to do with walgreens policies then your wife's trying different meds.. like the over- limit policy was put into place after walgreens and CVS got into big trouble by the feds for dispencing more than was acceptable in that particular area... wich in turn, changed the policy nation wide... s***ty, i know. those to stores wal, and cvs are the worst two stores to go to... atleast where i live TPA Fl. they are the most uptight. PERIOD if you want to stay with the mainstream pharm. try wal-mart.. they pretty good in my area. hope i helped. i feel for you, i'm in preety bad shape myself, so i decided to do some research as to why certain phams had ceartian policies. god bless. Hank
P.S. some pharmacies profile too (BAD). wich i think should be totally ilegal! I'm a young guy 33, and i got hit bye a drunk driver, in a big boidied Benz. as i was on a 600 cc. motorcycle... almost tore my leg off at the knee, and broke my back and herniated several discs.. after many sergeries (*8) but who's counting.. i've found that pharmacies turn me away, when i know they have the medications, because my grandmother and i get some of the same meds and, she go's there.. so baisically what i'm saying is because im not 80 yrs old, and don't look like grandma "Ginkins".. i dont know you pick a name... i must not have pain. witch i also believe should be illegal. Most pharms ive dealt with are super currupt ( im talking here about the privetly owned and opperated pharms) over charging, telling you you have to pay cash, that, they dont take you're insurance.. when thay do! because there's a cap on the price of they can bill you're insurence company... lets say it's $175 for 150 * mg. delodid and they would rather charge the next guy who walks in w/o insurance $600) theyr'e just Crooks! in my opinion. I'm Going
to talk to a lawyer friend of mine on monday and ask him if this is truly leagal or not.. He is a "Personal Injury Attorney" so he should know this kind of s***.. if it's not legal!!!!!! im going to have him write me the scariest letter theve ever read!! SLAP! that on the counter when they try there s***.. the things i've seen go on... cant be leagal.. i'm pretty sure there s some kind of law, or regulation, that would prevent theses crooks from playing Dr. and taking it apon themselves to decide WHO need WHAT medication.. the Dr. risk his liceance to prescribe you these mes andit's there job to fill them. Now this differce from state to state and store to store.. but the D.E.A. does set a monthly limet as to how much of a med a store can order each month.. this IS true. But, i have personnally cought certain phams just flat out lie to my face! for ex. ""a privately owned parm who i called and they said YES we take your type of isurance i drove all they way across town, in seveare pain bye the way.. with a very close friend of mine who does not have health insurance; trying to fill the same medication... just for my own exsperimental reasons i went in first, and bye myself.. now the lady at the counter's askd me if i had insurrance, then took my insur. card and my scripts.. this women told me she had my two none narcotics but not my 8 mg. delodid... i left and waited fifteen minutes in the car, and sent my friend in with his cash... AND WHALA! he came out with the script she said they were ot of stock of!! anyone who reads this hit me up via email, and i will supply you a download of a letter from my lawyer, all you gotta do is put it in word and change any pertanant info to match yours!!! free of charge!! email me later on in the week! like aroud 3/29** {edited for privacy} write in the message column ( I NEED MY MEDS
) so i dont trash you bye aceddent! good luck, wish me luck!! and god bless

I could write pages about all of the issues your wife has. After an accident on a poorly setup portable stage. I had sciatica that had been described by 5 neurosurgeons, over a 10 year period and before that fall, told me that my sciatica (burning down both legs) and moderate back pain was due to bulging disk L-4 & L-5. I was finally referred to a Physiatrist. MD who specializes in the muscle, tendon and bone structure. That what I was told. Not sure. Anyway, he had me put up the MRI and describe my problem as it was described by those neurosurgeons did. He said we were all wrong. Then he pushed his thumbs into both sides of my SI joint and I nearly went through the roof. Not one of those other docs ever suggested a thing about that. Look up SI Joint symptoms on the web. Your whole pelvis, hips and pubic bone hurt something terrible if it get's too inflamed.
When the fall occurred in the spring of 2006 I had to have back surgery immediately. I got a rod on each side of my spine with a basket replacing one disc with donated bone, The L-5 & S-1 disc was already losing to the fusing of those two bones. Six screws hold it together. Over the past 7 years I basically lived in bed with a heating pad with 18 prescriptions including 2 of the top narcotics, valium, clonazipam, gabapenten and many more. They numbed my mind over the back and leg pain. But, did nothing for the nerve pain constantly burning down my legs, worse with a 5 minute walk.
I thought back to my 23 year old brother's losing battle with cancer. He was taking everything you can give a person, legally, and set records on the amount of morphine he was getting IV'ed every 4 hours and with Bromptom Cocktail (check that out). He was miserable if/when he woke. He asked for some pot. We took out his oxygen and stood him up, his three brothers, and lit his joint. 3 puffs later he had to get back in bed with the oxygen. Although that was only every couple of days, the last few weeks, he was amazing. He sat up and talked with us, as sarcastic and funny as ever.
I've written too much to read already. Although I haven't had a drink in 25+ years, smoked tobacco or pot, I finally listened to my parents, siblings and my children. I was loosing my mind, not sleeping, in pain, legs jumping and restless for years.
With all of those drugs in my system with no help for the nerve pain, just 3 puffs on a pipe and the nerve pain stopped. Dead, flat out stopped.
In the past six months, the first three I weaned myself off of the narcotics & valium. I often fall asleep at midnight before I take my sleep and bedtime meds. And, sleep all night. The next three months I am opiate free and walking around. It's not easy. 10 mins walking and 5 mins sitting. I want to drop the next 12 of the original 18 prescriptions. The doc wants me to get some space after the large amounts I was on. Very large amounts of narcotics.
I've read and heard a doctor confirm. People who are where I was and taking the amount of narcotics and other meds have much shorter life expectancies. One piece I read said six years.
There is nothing good about narcotics if you can avoid them. It took me 3 three months of trying before the pain could be totally taken care of without the bad stuff.
NO NERVE PAIN.
Ii hope this all gets printed and you and your loved ones find it useful. Don't be afraid to try it.
Do a GOOGLE (Web) search on this and read the article. I've seen many studies. This one is reporting the same scientific information on medical marijuana.
