Does anyone know of a pharmacy in Bradenton or Sarasota that can help a patient fill qty 180 oxycodone 30mg? Please help. On the verge of getting deathly ill w/out meds! Thank you.

thanks for reply- i understand the idea behind teh new pills but those of us who take them should be told what this new stuff is made from... i am on disability and therefore medicare ins. My son is trying to make me his dependant since he is army and since he makes up what my disability does not cover in supporting me-
i will start making calls and yes, i am in my 40s, use a back brace and walker and i felt like a crimminal having to go to several pharmacies in ft myers to fill a script for just 120 roxi and opana. while all were kind, was told they did not have in stock.. finally gave up.. the prices for one mail in place was like 320 for a mere 15 pills. CRAZY! i have a sister in CA that smokes instead of pills for her condition and she swears by it... she reminded me of when i was a teen and tried the stuff , I broke out in a bad rash so not sure if i am willing to look like an oompa-loompa to be out of pain, but... may get to that point!

Express scripts is Tricare (military insurance)and some other employers use this mail pharmacy as well. They very good. They take 7 to 10 days to get the meds mailed to you on the first time. You have to mention to mail pharmacies that you are getting pain meds so they know why you are doing only 30 days RX's. So if you use a mail order pharmacy, you should try to see your doctor early one month to get the ball rolling so you won't run out. It will just need to be post dated. Always send your rx's certified mail and ask for express delivery. You usually have to be home to sign for your meds when they arrive. On my group, we have a document section listed with only legit mail order pharmacies for patients with NO insurance. These are specially certified for safe filling. Many have are having great experience with this. Anyone that would like to join us with our advocacy is invited. Donna s as well. We are a close nit group and its private. No one can see our Florida group or the posts that members make. Strength is in numbers folks! We are building up nicely and need more advocates. I do make sure I speak with all members, by email or phone to be sure they are pain patients or caregivers. So they are screened for safety. We have been in touch with a reporter from NBC that knows us. We are currenty looking to class action law suit the state and state pharmacy board. We legitimate pain patients need a voice just like CVS, Cardinal and some doctors. We are actively. Fighting this together. Again my info is listed on this thread. You will find it, its here. I hope to see some you soon. You sound like great advocates and supporters. Please think about joining an organized group. Donna Ratliff

Hi Donna R, its Leah Cohen. First of all, i want to thank you for your incredibly helpful response . I am curious though about the list of legit mail order pharmacies for patients with NO insurance . If i didn't have a special discount card through the state of Florida (and usually only accepted @ the big chains , which btw, limits my pharmacies ), I could never get my medicine ! All the small pharmacies charge at least $5/pill..x 170...!! My daughter has Cystic Fibrosis and since i have to take care of her and can't work (I'm a teacher ), we live on her ss and ss disability ($685/m). With my discount card i only pay $100 for #170!!- Thank G-d. Also , I want to join your group painfoundation.org...if i understand correctly , I'll see your name and email address under "State Leader ", correct ? And I'd also like to be involved in your Facebook support group but I'm Embarrassed to say I don't know how to do Facebook ...ugh.

@rae Love the husband's PM in Pinellas. Pinellas Pain Management on McMullen Booth Road. Very, very professional. Only DR that has tried to help, going beyond PM, requesting surgical consults, etc. Highly recommend.

Donna s. I noticed you put a c in my name. LOL lots of people do that so that could make me harder to find. I dont have a direct link to the group for the privacy of the members. Having our group private keeps the comfort level for everyone because we do discuss health problems etc....another way to find us is. On facebook type in "American Pain Foundation Action Network for Florida Residents". Type the entire name. You will then come to a page. Like that page and leave a comment. You will see our petition there too. I will message you back with a friend request. After you accept, I will immediately add you to our group. I know you will like everyone there. I have members on there that had been on this thread. I hope to see you soon. Advocates and supporters like you will help Florida pain patients to achieve our goals and gain respect. :)

IM FEELING VERY FRUSTRATED HERE ALSO...MY HUSBAND IS ''29'' YRS OLD AND HAS A KNEE REPLACEMENT AND TWO TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENTS. RECENTLY HE WAS TOLD THAT THERES SPACE BETWEEN THE HIP REPLACEMENT STEM AND THE BONE( THERES MOVEMENT CAUSING CHRONIC PAIN)HE HAS DAYS WHERE HIS PAIN IS SO UNBEARABLE IT BREAKS MY HEART THAT THERES NOTHING I CAN DO FOR HIM. HE GETS PRESCRIBED THE OXYCODONE 30 MG AND EVEN SOMETIMES WITH THAT IT STILL DOESNT TAKE THE PAIN AWAY. THE PASSED SEVEN DAYS HE HAS BEEN TRYING TO FILL HIS SCRIPT AND GETS THE SAME ANSWER ''WE DONT HAVE IT CALL BACK NEXT WEEK''(AND WHEN WE DO CALL BAK OR COME IN NOTHING!!), ''WE STOPPED CARRYING THAT MEDICINE''(WITH NO REAL EXPLANATION), OR TODAY MY HUSBAND CALLS A LOCAL MOM AND POP PHARMACY( THAT HAS CARRIED IT FOR YEARS) A NICE LADY ANSWERED THE PHONE AND MY HUSBAND TOLD HER WHAT HE NEEDED AND SHE ASKED FOR HIS PERSONAL INFORMATION AND SAID YES THEY HAD IT TO COME IN AND SPEAK WITH THE PHARMACY MANAGER BECAUSE HES REALLY STRICT AND LIKES TO SPEAK WITH PATIENTS TO MAKE SURE THEIR NOT PEOPLE WHO REALLY DONT NEED IT OR ARE JUST VISIBALY ADDICTS WHICH WAS HEAVEN TO MY HUSBANDS EARS CAUSE HES BEEN LOOKING EVERY WHERE..WE TAKE THE BUS(IT TAKES TWO BUSES CAUSE WE ARE WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR THE TIME BEING,MIND YOU WE ADVISED THE LADY OVER THE PHONE THAT MY HUSBAND HAD TWO HIP REPLACEMENTS AND RIGHT NOW W NO MEDICINE ITS PAINFUL FOR HIM TO WALK AND HE USES A CANE AT TIMES... WE GET ALL THE WAY DOWN THERE, WE TELLTHE LADY AT THE COUNTER THE NAME OF PERSON WE SPOKE WITH AND SHE SAYS THAT SHE WASNT SUPPOSE TO GIVE US ANY TYPE OF INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE ,MY HUSBAND FELT BAD BECAUSE HE DIDNT WANT THE LADY HE SPOKE OVER THE PHONE WITH TO GET IN TROUBLE FOR JUST HELPING HIM SHE LOOKS AT THE SCRIPT AND SAYS OK LET ME SPEAK THE PHARMACY MANAGER BUT TELLS US TO WAIT AWAY FROM THE DOOR..THE LADY TELLS THE MANGAGER THAT MY HUSBAND IS A YOUNG 29 YEAR OLD SPANISH MALE..AND THE GUY SAYS NO WE DONT HAVE IT (BUT WHEN WE GOT THERE, THERE WAS AN OLD MAN THAT HAD THE SAME SCRIPT AND THAT SAME LADY SAID THT THEY MIGHT HAVE IT BUT HE DIDNT BRING HIS INSURANCE CARD)..THE LOOK ON MY HUSBANDS FACE WAS FILLED WITH SO MUCH ANGER. HE EXPLAINED TO THE LADY THAT HE JUST SPOKE TO SOMEONE ON THE PHONE AND EXPLAINED TO THEM WE DONT HAVE TRANSPORTATION AND IT TOOK US 3 BUSES TO GET THERE AND THE PAIN HE WAS IN MADE IT HARD FOR HIM TO EVEN TRY TO MAKE THE TRIP THERE...THE MANAGER COMES OUT OF THE OFFICE AND LOOKS AT MY HUSBAND AND SAYS " AS A MATTER OF FACT WE STOPPED CARRYING THAT MEDICINE HERE INDEFINITELY!'' I WAS MORTIFIED (HE WAS A WHITE CAUCASIAN MALE IN HIS LATE 20's EARLY 30's) MY HUSBAND ASKED HIM IF HE WAS SERIOUS AND IF HE KNEW WHAT IT TOOK TO GET THERE..AND THE GUY JUST WALKED BACK IN HIS OFFICE. MY HUSBAND IS THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT IS VERY EDUCATED AND IS A GENTLEMAN TO EVERYBODY THAT GIVES AND SHOWS RESPECT. BUT IF YOU EVEN LACK A SENSE OF HUMILITY AND EMPATHY FOR PEOPLE THAT EXPECT SOMEONE THATS IN THE POSITION TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR TREATING PATIENTS THAT REALLY NEED THE MEDICINE..IT JUST ENRAGES HIM ..BUT HE DIDNT LOSE HIS COOL AND WE JUST WALKED OUT I JUST COULDNT BELIEVE HOW THERES PEOPLE LIKE THAT IN THE MEDICAL FIELD I THOUGHT THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO CARE FOR THE PATIENTS THEY TREAT..IT WAS JUST SO VERY DISAPPOINTING AND I HOPE THAT SITUATIONS LIKE THIS DOESNT EVER HAPPEN AGAIN TO A PERSON LIKE MY HUSBAND THAT GOT TREATED LIKE HE WAS SOMEONE OFF THE STREET.

Dear Milly. Please look at all the posts. You will find a way to find me. My group may be able to help you if you live in Florida. There are many posts with directions on here.:)

@ MILLY go to Facebook and type in:
Fight For Florida Pain Care Action Network
You will find most of us there including Donna Ratliff

There is good info in that group on FB.

Because of the group being private, she won't find us on there. Milly will need to friend me on Facebook. There was changes made to group a few months ago that will prevent anyone from finding us by the search bar. Its becausde of the email address. I did this deliberately to keep reporters from being nosy and trying to sneak in. Its for all members privacy do to us being able to discss health issues. So just Facebook my name and you will find me in Lithia FL or advocating for pain care will be with my name, or by following the painfoundation.org website. Search for Florida leader and my name and email address will be there. Sorry for the little search but due to the controversy of our cause. Its better for members this way. Maybe someday soon I will be able to change all this. We are fighting for our rights right now. If you can't find me, write back here and I will find you. :)

al- how do i contact offline? I am in Murfreesboro for now but hope to move in june when lease is up depending on my finding legit dr and a way to fill meds without what I exprienced previously- would rather move to MX than deal with running around to different stores which is hard to do with a walker

Finally- a group to voice my concerns as a current pain management patient in need of meds to live as opposed to wanting meds to ‘get high’ or sell on the street!!! Count me in Donna!!! I have facebook and will join directly- even though I am technically a TN resident, I am planning a permanent move back to Ft Myers in June with my daughter and grandson. We moved to TN from FL for me to have my surgery and my disability case was actually approved while I lived in FL. My son is in the Army and is trying to add me as his dependant since he provides a large portion of my support due to my only source of income being disability and SSI. If approved, I am really hoping I can do mail order meds and avoid the embarrassment and frustration that many Floridians (and elsewhere) who suffer from chronic pain are having to go through EVERY month. The new prescription drug laws, were written to satisfy parents of addicts now turned lobbyists that ‘urged’ by threatening lawmakers with what we- those in pain management also have- their VOTE. These new laws that are said to prevent addicts from shopping around for unscrupulous doctors (that will just send the same addicts to the same doctors now in back alleys and a phony storefront building- are harming those that have seen or will see principled doctors trying to follow the Hippocratic Oath and Standard of Care for pain management that comes from the many diseases and illnesses that affect millions of people every day! More and more caring doctors are leaving patients in pain because they are afraid the local pharmacist may report them to the DEA for writing what they believe are prescriptions for too much medicine- or perhaps writing for a person that appears to be disheveled and unclean- But hey, I wonder if that customer just left the clinic where they had radiation pumped into their veins for several hours/ or perhaps because they just had all their lower discs removed and 2 metal cages inserted! How can we as an educated society say the pharmacist that knows nothing more about a person other than their address and if they have insurance or not, now has the authority to say what meds they are entitled to have! This new law has done nothing more than place into the hands of someone standing behind a counter, a whistle similar to that of the school crossing guard that now thinks they are a police officer! Shameful!!! It should NOT be up to a pharmacy to decide which prescriptions it will fill and for whom. And how someone dresses or looks should not be a factor in a pharmacist deciding will they fill or not fill or to ruin the career of a doctor that is trying to alleviate pain and give back a life to someone that is dying or unable to stand behind a counter or even sit in a chair!!! Before we placed a stigma on the disease itself- now it is on how it is treated! If 1/3 of the funds used on the 'war on drugs' were given to science, we may have cures for the same disease that cause pain instead of simply giving a pharmacist a new 'hat' to wear while standing behind a counter that reads, 'beware, I judge a book by its cover' ok, I have vented and feel better... of course, i have my meds- this month anyhow lol

Rae, we would love to have you on our group. You sound like a good advocate and we sure need as many of those as we can possibly get. Yes I will make sure to help you to find a good mail order pharmacy. FT Myers is one of the worst hit areas in FL affected by the negativity of the pill mills. Good news is they are gone! I can see that we are now down to the real legit pain patients and we have been hit hard. If you join our group, we have lots of members from that area that can help you with a doctor. When we advocate, we have been quiet about the mail ordering our meds so that our rediculous state govt doesn't try to interfere with that way of filling meds. I own a home on Lookout mountain AL, just south west of Chattanooga. I would love to live there full time but I couldn't find a doctor so I have to remain in my home state of FL. We really need to have all states more educated about pain. That reduce the paranoia. State legislators, and health care providers need more education on how to treat pain properlyhere in Florida . Today in the Tampa Bay newspaper under opinions, my friend and co-worker Bob Twillman director of AAPM( American Academy of pain management) wrote a great article about FL and pain patients. Look for it and leave a comment. Its really good. Later today, I will try to post the link here. I have my DR appt today. Maybe Donna S. Will post it for everyone to read if I can't get it done soon. I hope to see your friend request soon on Facebook page. So I can add you to the group. Have a low pain day. :) Donna R.

I live in TN. and have my pain meds compounded to get less tylonol, instead of 10/650 I get 15/80 so I can take more than 4 a day. The drug companies block insurance from paying for compounded meds, insurance will cover 10/650 tabs but not 15/80 caps even though it has the exact same ingredients. I had one compounded pharmacist tell me he would not fill them unless I brought in my medical records, he gave me the third degree on where my pain was, how long, why so much, etc. My Dr, called and reemed him out saying I am his patient and his job is to fill the script not diagnose the patient himself. He has no right asking for my medical records, pharmacies and insurance companies are being controlled by the drug companies, and sadly so are many doctors. The state and federal gov. needs to let doctors do their job and stop regulating and tying their hands. These legislators did not go to medical school and know nothing of people in pain, yet they are allowed to hold doctors back.
