My husband ran out of his 50 mcg Fentanyl Patches on Monday. Today is Friday 12/11/09 and he is experiencing withdrawals. The patches are supposed to be available today (it's 3 a.m. here). Is there ANYTHING that can help him until he receives his RX? He has the chills, sneezing, stomach cramps, moaning, restlessness, etc. Please help ... ## I have been on the patches for a wile now and the best he could do for the time being is to take the last patch he was wearing and cut a hole in the corner and push out a pea sized drop of the gel and {edited for safety reasons} just to be carefully only use a little amout to start with and give in about 15 mins and I promise he will feel tons better. if you take a 25 mg Fentanyl Patch and it is not that strong of a prescription for you, can you take additonal painkillers like vicodin as needed? This website doesn't manufacture any products, nor is it affiliated with any manufacturer and the lot number is a number that's internal to the manufacturer, so it really doesn't provide information to anyone else. my legs hurt and feel numb,like pins and needles. i went off 25mcg/h cold turkey. and my legs are killing me. when i walk around they feel much better, but when i try to sit down they hurt and feel like somebody is poking me with hundreds of needles at the same time. ## Based on my research, Fentanyl skin patches may cause side effects such as "pain, burning, tingling, or numbness in the hands or feet". I can only buy one type of Fentanyl Patch from my drug store. I have read that other folks have access to the patch with the gel rather than the one without. When I first started using them, I got the ones with gel, was told later that they did not make them anymore. Is this true or not? The ones with gel helped me a lot more, the others without gel itch, won't stay on, and I sometimes I find that the patch is curled under because of the itching in my sleep.The ones with gel also gave me more relief and stayed on. I don't want to go to a larger patch - just one that works better as the gel patch did. I have no intention of any kind of abuse, I just want to get rid of as much pain as possible. Hi, I am brand new to the patch. I was so scared to try it that I had my 'script for a week before I put the first one on. I'm on Mylan 25/72 hrs. Today is 72 hrs. and I will be putting a new one on. I've seen other forums where people say that they leave the old patch on so the medicine stays constant in their system, They take it off the second day. I've seen so many posts where people do this. Question: I have 2 of my 500 mcgs FENTANYL TROCHES (like ACTIQ suckers) anyway what I would like to know is what time I should take them for 1:00 PM appt. for them to show a POSITIVE urine screen in case they do one that day...if anyone has any ideas PLEASE let me know...I was thinking about taking 1 at 6 or 7 AM & the other one at 10 or 11 AM...is that enough time to get thru the kidneys, etc...? Ive recently being prescribed fentanyl patches to try out by my GP, the idea is to replace the ammount of tablets that i take each day. I'm worried as to when to start them as I am working solid over the next 7 days then i get two days off ? also I attend a pilates class to help with my spondalitis. I am having a problem where it feels like my brain is spinning inside my head. Sometimes it spins so fast it feels like my head is going to explode.I'm not sure if fenatynl is the problem if I don't remember to change it fast enough or if the percoct 10/325 are the problem but I am tiling crazy and I need some help to understand.PLEASE . ## @Wheeles, Based on my research, it looks like both Percocet and Fentanyl could be the cause for what you've been experiencing... Trying to find out what type of patch is being used on the lower part of back that leaves a blue squared stain on clothing right above crack. being bought off the streets ## Hi Sasha, The only patch I know of is the Fentanyl patch; which is commonly used in pre-procedures as a pain reliever as well as an anesthetic in combination with a benzodiazepine. How is it all of the sudden I am told 4 days before my due date for 15 Fentanyl patches (100 mcg 1 patch every 2 days) will not be filled because Medicaid doesn't wan't to pay for it? I heard this started in 2012 yet they have been paying for it! It's February 2013 so why the all the sudden very very short notice? I am a 46 year old woman who was recently put on a fentanyl patch for chronic pain related to late stage lyme disease. 13 hours after pitting on the patch I was feeling well so I turned on my electric blanket and went to bed. 70 minutes later I woke up having a difficult time breathing , I felt like I could not get air and my heart felt like it was going to stop. I got up and tried to walk around still struggling for a good breath. I took my bllod pressure it was 88/54 heart rate was 51. I decided to call the dr. Who said to remove the patch. Apparently I was having an allergic reaction but moreover the patch should NEVER be used with any heating device electric blanket, heating pad on the patch or hot tub. None of these wee ever mentioned. Please please use caution when using the patch...

Call the 800 number on the box and they will send you covers for the patches free of charge. ## Eric, I'm on the 100,mcg /hr.MYLAN.they sometimes fall off the same day. I have been on the patches for some time. These are the worse. The other ones i was on were a lot larger and stayed for the 72hrs.and i hardly had pain.The ones I'm on now, are real small. I stay in constant pain. I know what ur going through. They need to discontinued, these small one's that want stick. And help us.and,like you,I don't know what to do. I have been on every pain med there is. I am now on fentanyl patches and I use oxycodone as a break through med. I also use lorazepam to help with the anxiety. I have been suffering with massive headaches where I get the feeling the my brain is spinning inside my head. I am wondering if it could be because I change my fentanyl patch to late. Can someone please help me? I am very desperate for an answer. I am starting to feel like I am going crazy. ## What dosage of Lorazepam do you take and how often do you take it? Hi, I'm on the 50mcg patch and my Dr. also has me on Norco 10. I want to get off the patch so bad, but I'm fighting a staph infection for the second time in three months. Back in May I had injections in my lumbar, and four days later I was in the hospital with 104 degree fever. I ended up having emergency back surgery to clean out the infection. By the time I went to surgery two days later (because my Dr.'s at the time are idiots) I was septic w/ 105 degree fever. Needless to say, I nearly died. When I finally got out of the hospital the second time, ( with NEW Dr.'s, my Pain Management doc put me on Fentanyl 50, and Dilaudid 2mg 3x a day, I couldn't function. So I asked my Dr to change my meds, she only changed the Dilaudid to Norco 10, one every 4 to six hours. Now...

Would Fentanyl 25 mg, celebrex, and 1 mg of Klonopin have an unpleasant interaction? Like extreme irritability? Verbal hostility? ## I would ask your pharmacist before combining the fent with klonopin. There are a lot of lawsuits regarding the fent because some of them are defective causing the patient to receive too much of the medication too fast. Be careful with that combo. ## I think Leigh covered those concerns very well, so as to possible interactions, I'd just like to add that combining the Fentanyl and Clonazepam increases the sedative like effects of both, which can be problematic for some people, so they should be carefully monitored.
