Have had multiple fusions on lumber in back patches dont seem to help to much and they have me taking 12 5mg oxy irs a day just wondering what would be a good substitute my in insurance wont cover oxy ers.Wondering if opanas would be a good substitute? ## Both Oxycodone and Opana are very powerful narcotic pain medications. I am on fentanyl 75mcg and Norco. I had a tox screening at the pain doctors the other day. It came up positive for morphine and oxymorphone. I'm not on these two . Why did this happen? ## I asked the question the other day about my tox screen and have not gotten an answer. I've been trying to figure this out. The only other things I took were my blood pressure meds and Tylenol with codine . None of it has that other stuff in it. I'm sick about this. They said I had high levels of it all. Been on fentanyl 50 mcg for 5 years, tried 3 attemps to get off but always went back because of feeling so horrible and do not have the luxury of staying home during this time, I am the only one working, my husband is disabled. I started breaking out with blisters (always had irritation). I had to change them every 1 1/2 days to avoid the blisters. Kept telling PM doc, and of course never listened, long story short cold turkey, major withdrawls, Its been 3 weeks, still feel bad, no energy, major breathing problems( since i've been off patch) feel like I can't get a breath. Hi, I was recently prescribed the Watson 75 mg. patch. So far it has been an absolute miracle. Finally, managable pain!!! I had a brain aneurism and stroke about 4 years ago which went undiagnosed for 2 weeks. For some reason this has left me with horrific headaches. My problem is that I am 5' 6'' tall and weigh about 80 pounds. Placing the patch is a real problem. Is there a specific area in which the patch has to be placed? How many mgs.of roxycodone is equal to 100mg of fentanyl spray for under your tough? ## Two different pain medications can and usually do effect everyone differently whether it's the same dosage or not. The results would be different every time, based on tolerance, body chemistry, underlying health conditions, and several other personal factors. Fentanyl is also regarded as a significantly more potent pain medication. If you tried to take the amount of Roxicodone that would equal Fentanyl, you may as well have overdosed on Roxicodone. Back in the hospital and the doctors are having a hard time finding an IV medication that will help lessen the chest pain from my pneumonia. I wear Fentanyl 75 mcg (changed every 72 hrs). Health issues; crps/rsd, ankylosing spondylitis, Arnold Chiari Malformation, Pudenal Neuralgia, are just the top my health issues. ## Hi Loveday, I don't know how much help this will be, but I was able to find a pretty extensive list of medications starting with "P". my husband was prescibed Fentanyl Transdermal System)and he takes Lyrica 200 mg what will it do. he put his first patch on today and along with 1 10mg percet in am and 1 pm. My mother was put on fentanyl patch years ago after a terrible back/neck injury. She is now dependent and I've just found out that she uses more than she has to and chews that backing on the patch. She was hospitalized today with withdrawal symptoms (which she denies and says it's stomach flu). I know she truly needs the medicine for her pain, but are there any other options? What do I do for her. How, as a daughter, have an addiction discussion with my mother? I live out of state which makes it that much harder. I'm helpless. I feel like I need to move back. Hi My doct just started me on fentanyl patches.I am not sure if a person should work while wearing them. What are your thoughts. ## it should say right on the information pamplet that comes with the medication, do not operate machinery this includes a vehicile, Ms-Cotin, or Avinza would be a better choice of pain medications , but they are costly, i was on duragesic patches same thing they made me extremely drowsy, the other 2 medications are the same a morphine sulfate, an have a extended release of 12 to 24 hours ## Becarfull with those patches... was on them and did not like them. What can I do? ## Do you mean that you are calling them and asking if they will prescribe it? If so, then that is the reason right there. Previous taken a couple of prescribed drugs for lower back pain. Last drug was Hydrocodon-Acet 10-500. Call dr. back in 3 days, no improvement. He prescribed the Fentanyl patch. I would like to try something stronger, but not Fentanyl. I'm only on an antidrpressant; 66 years old. ## I understand, that is a huge jump from the Hydrocodone to the Fentanyl and it can be too much for some people, plus it doesn't leave you anywhere to go later, since it's pretty much the strongest there is available. Are the used patches good for anything. Is there anything left in them. Any way to extract that ## Trying to extract medications like this is very dangerous and, once the patch has been used, there isn't enough left to do anything. Most of what you'd end up with would be just the carrier media, which are inactive ingredients. Learn more Fentanyl details here. I know that Fentanyl can show a false positive for LSD so would it show up as a PCP on a urine drug screen? ## No, my resources only list it as being known to cause a false positive for LSD, there is nothing on PCP. On some non-certified tests that are not as reliable, it may also cause some false positives for other synthetic and semi-synthetic opiates, though. This happens pretty frequently. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have had fetanyl patches on for two weeks have had two urine test pass both of them. Why does test come clean when I would think it would be positive?

Hi I'm on Fentanyl Transdermal System 100mcg every 72 HR. for chronic back and I take Hydrocod 10/325. I have a T12 fracture Osteoporosis(bad) and severe after affect of shingles. I am on fentanyl 25mcg every 48 hours and norco 10/325 4 times a day Valium 10mgs 3rimes a day I get frequent uti and take cipro for them I get drug screened in pain management with urine test most always shows false positive for oxy and then is sent out and comes back fine why does this keep happening ## It's probably related to the quality of the test they are using. Since they are very few doctors and clinics that are required to use certified tests, most don't, because the regular tests are much cheaper. These 'regular' tests are known to cause false positives anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time and that is why, when your sample is sent out to the actual lab, for more professional, controlled testing, it comes back fine. i am prescribed the fentanyl 25mcg, and today my dr gave me a urine screen. i noticed that the cup had two bars on it, one said OPI for opiates i assume, and another that said OXY. my results were positive for both. I had taken a percocet that is not prescribed to me, so i thought i was in big trouble, but my doctor didnt even mention it!!!!
