i am takeing methadome also 100 mcg/h i taking it for back .hip replacement will the fentanyl show up urine test it has not just in my methadone i can not lose my worker comp ck would any body no if it will show ur in urine test thanks ## Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic opiate, so it should show up as one. Most standard tests do not look for the precise drug, just the drug class. However, if they test for the specific ones, it should show up. However, there have been many posts recently from people who have had their medications now showing up, this leads me to wonder if there are some bad tests out there. You said you have already had some tests where it did not show up?

Iwas put on Methodone 5-6 years ago for chronic back pain and fibromyalgia. My ankles starting swelling so my Dr. put me on a fentanyl patch. with Norco for breakthrough. I have ben doing pretty well. A few months ago I decided to get off the drugs. I have been on 25mcg patch for a couple of months, and the other day deciced it was time to quit.My Dr. knows what my plan is. Anyway it's been a pretty miserable couple of days. The second night I put on a patch for a few hours to sleep. So sincde yesterday I have been a real TWEEKER-restless body, flipping all over the place, can't eat, can't sleep, achy. I have started the fentanyl patch. I put my first one on and after 24 hours, I then realized it had two pretty small wrinkles in it and I'm not exactly sure if it is completely effective... Pain isn't quit there but not sure if it that will effect the absorbs ion into the skin. ## Two very small wrinkles should not really effect it, there is still enough in contact with your skin for the medication to be absorbed and work. I want to thank everyone for there help and support.I have been off the patch for 1 month on Thursday .It was hard but I want to tell anyone that is trying to have patients and do it your own pace.Im not sleeping at night and sometimes still feel like i need to rock back and forth but its alot better ..thank you and i willkeep any of use in my prayers that is trying to get rid of this awful drug!!!! ## Congratulations! UPDATE: My doc's office just called back. When I told them what the Mylan comp. said they wanted me to come in right away. They paniced when I told them what the comp. said about the kidneys and hot flashes. I also told them the patches are NOT to be cut for weaning. She replied OH. So, she gave me an appt. to see them Wed. ARGH!

I have a patch that is called Transdermal system and it says 25 mcg/hr, it also says each Transdermal system contains: 2.55 mg Fentanyl. I am a first time user on this medication, what effects will I experience? ## Well, this can have some adverse effects. I am not sure if you have previously used narcotics, I know this should not be used by anyone who has not already built up a narcotic tolerance as it is a very, very strong med. 80 times stronger than Morphine as a matter of fact. I have been on the fentanyl 50mcg patch for years but ive noticed every year at this time i get a rash that i get all over my body that itchs so bad then it goes away after a few months but in the mean time all i do is scrach has anyone else had this problem the weird thing is no rash were i place the patch mostly on arms legs and neck id like some help on this please and what can i do to stop the itch...thanks

I have been taking Fentanyl 50 MG Patches on and off for over 5 yrs. I just had to stop using them because I was having hot and cold sweats, feeling weak and very sickist. I stopped taking them about 2 1/2 weeks ago (cold turkey) because I was so weak. I have percocet, but I am a bad withdrawal. We saw an ad on TV last to call a number if you have been on them. What's going on with this RX. I have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction, degenerative and osteoarthritis, a total recalled Vitek-II total jaw protethis (the company went bankrupt the week before surgery in '90. HELP, I'VE BEEN ON DURAGESIC PATCHES FOR A COUPLE YEARS WITH LITTLE TO NO PROBLEMS RECENTLY[2 MONTHS ] I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SLEEP APNEA AND PLACED ON A C-PAP SINCE I;VE DEVELOPED A PROBLEM WITH ATRIAL FIBRILLATION I WAS PLACED ON THREE DIFFERENT HEART MEDS SINCE THE MEDS I WAKE UP WITH A BODY TEMP BETWEEN 93.8&94.6 DEGREES I'M HYPO THERMIC AFTER 11/2 HRS MY TEMP IS BACK TO NONMAL AFTER I GET UP .NOBODY KNOWS WHAT TO DO IS THIS A PROBLEM WITH THE FINTANYL PATCHES , HEART MEDS, OR C-PAP COMBO.? nt 16 ## This is not Fentanyl. It is 600mg Gabapentin, or name brand Neurontin. It is used for various types of seizure disorders, convulsions and nerve pain. Side effects include nausea, headache, drowsiness, among others. ## As I recall, this isn't even available in regular pill form, they have the lozenges, and the patches, and that is all that is available anymore that I can find listed. ## That's exactly right, except for the IV doses available in the hospital, nothing else exists. ## That is what I thought, I even did a search and double checked. As I recall they had trouble getting the dosage set properly and stabilized, so they were unable to make it into tablets. They had a problem with Demerol for years, before they finally had a breakthrough and discovered other ways ...

## Given as painkiller after operation - after 4 days, began itching, discomfort, I refused to take any more, left off all pain medication in hospital. I need to know what it contains and what warnings of reactions/allergies there are. ## Had been given fentanyl after Hysterectomy. I was on Fentanyl patch for 2 yrs. Had many trips to ER for overdose or withdrawal symptoms with proper use. I think people should know.The doctors were always stumped at my symptoms. I had to do my own research on internet to diagnose the problem. ## Susan, did your doc figure out what the problem was? When I take hydrotherapy or just a nice hot tub soak, I take mine off to prevent excellerated discharge of the medication.
