My pain management doc got investigated and now hes closed his practice down. I was getting 30mg oxycodone 5 times a day and morphine 15mg 2 times a day. Does anybody know a doctor in huntsville alabama that will keep me on my meds, need answer ASAP!

Obama has nothing to do with this. The DEA came down hard when so many kids died from abusing Oxycontin and public opinion blamed doctors. Doctors are sitting ducks on this one. You have your pill mills that get rich over writing scrips to addicts. Also it isn't the Feds, it is your state as well. Not very well informed. It has been going on for years and it just impacted you.

There is a really good clinic in Madison. There are 2 doctors who are really compassionate. You must have a test at each visit And they check the narcotics database every visit. I will not list their name but it is on the HORIZON. It is on hwy 72 next to Hardee's.

I feel so badly for you, your husband, myself and others that suffer with CHRONIC PAIN. I am on disability and suffer daily. My parents took in a handicapped 31 year old that has MAJOR HEALTH PROBLEMS and was being abused. The same pain doctor that you said your husband was seeing would not help him either. His mother dropped him on purpose when he was 3 years old and didn't take him to the doctor, now the damage is so severe and he is to weak to go through any operations that medications are the ONLY THING THAT HELPS HIM. I am a Christian and GOD has and still does help him, however, God gives these Pain Doctors knowledge to suppose to help people out but since here in Alabama (especially) some people just don't have a understanding of CHRONIC PAIN or maybe just don't care.then we get penalized. If I could move to another COUNTRY that does care for people with MAJOR PAIN, I certainly would in a minute. I say this because I know of several COUNTRY'S that one of my relatives have moved to and they say that the Pain Doctors really do care and help them out tremendously.

Dr. Aggawal was a god send to my husband. But now we have to go to Tennessee Valley Pain Clinic and Dr. Gantt sucks. He told us to see this back surgeon and then he might adjust my husbands meds depends on what the back surgeon told us. Well the back surgeon told us that there is nothing he could do my husband's back was too bad off. So we go see the Pain Dr. and he said that he won't ajust anything. My question is why did you make my husband go see a surgeon if you wasn't going to do anything? I think that it is a play with insurance money.Now I am trying to find another doctor that will help him.

I am in cronic pain have went thru the epidurals with no success was told that I would have to find a med management I live in boaz al I am 38 and feel 80. I asked why I am in so much pain and all I ever get is we dont know. Why wont they run test to find out there has got to be more than a ruptured disk and and crack disk going on I am on a walker and barely making it to the bathroom. My fiance is tired of seeing me suffer and is about ready to leave me after months of pain. I wish I could have my life back I really do

I've read through all these posts and I understand both sides. My daughters Dr was closed down, prob same Dr. My daughter has EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) and can't hardly get out of bed without medicine. EDS is rare and Nat'l Inst Health Genetic Research is trying so hard to find a way to help EDSers with their 24x7 mega pain. Until then they have to rely on Pain and Anxiety meds to get them through the day. So anyone knows of a good doctor that will work with someone like her, I'd like to know his name. Her pain is real, so are her 3 young children (2 of which have inherited EDS).

Hon, you should call the Alabama Medical Board Examiners and let THEM tell you what to do. With no transportation I can see how frustrating this is to you. You nor should anyone have to suffer like you are. I wish I could give you more advice but with the way Alabama is ran by our Senators, Governor, etc. they seem to think that people don't suffer and don't need any medicine to take which is complete BS. I am praying for you and HOPEFULLY you can get into a Dr.

@kristy, I was hurt in 90' an in coma for 3 months. Broke left femur bone in half, shattered left hip, broke pelvic bone in half an had 6screws in it like a haylow around waist, severed the nerve in left shoulder, have permanent nerve damage in every vertebra in back an neck. Was in another wreck in 05' because of my closed head injury was causing me to have uncontrollable seizures an hurt the middle of back that are the nerves to your feet an legs. I am in a wheelchair because of all the nerve damage in back, legs, feet an left arm. Ive been getting treated for all injuries, an then they installed a VNS device to help reduce the severity of my seizures an has help a little. But that device sends an electric zap every 5min 24/7 an has thrown my pain levels through the roof. With that doc getting shut down, it has scared my doctor an is telling me to find another for the neurological pain but still wants to treat me with my seizure condition. Ive seen my doctor for 8yrs, an now this. I haven't seen any other doc the whole time, except for the surgeon who put this device in my chest. It's like a pace maker except it is wired to the tip of neck/brain. An I cant go around to all the these Dr'a to see if they can treat my pain management on the handi-ride bus. An this device is magnetic which will mess up all mri's an x-rays. Whatdo I do/who do I see/an have a medical history from all the way back to the 90's@hspl???

Are you seriously asking who will sale you some medicine? You have got to go see a Pain Dr. Maybe I misunderstood your question, I certainly hope so. This site is intended to help people out with questions and support. If you have Dr. reports showing that you have chronic pain then I encourage you to get yourself into a Pain Clinic. I do know some people that have no insurance and have no medical records so they just smoke cannabis. It seems to help them with there pain and anxiety. I'm not trying to tell you that would best for you but I will say that if I lived in a State that Medical Marijuana was legal and I had no insurance or records that's exactly what I would do...

Kristy, some people will NEVER understand chronic pain. There isn't even no need in trying to explain to some people. For some reason people try to be Doctors like some people in our State do. It's so pathetic. Each person knows there own body and how they feel. I liked Dr. Aggarwal. He tried his best to help me and he did. He couldn't help that others misused their medications are whatever they did. Whatever the reasons were that he got shut down the Board should have put some other Dr's in his place instead of the way it was handled... Lots of thoughts and concern to the many people, such as myself, that really hurt and need pain relief....

i have no trouble getting my meds. because i do have the medical history. if u dont an u gotem. u screwed your selves.their are plenty of docters out there willing to give you wht u have been on,if u have the history. id be glad to help some 1 wit the history. if u get them in ga its hard to get them filled, but not impossible. Good Luck
